40 Great Nail Art Ideas: Halloween

"I got you where I want you, and now I'm going to eat you!"

Welcome to another installment of 40 Great Nail Art Ideas! Today's prompt is Halloween. I wanted to do something easy but that I hadn't seen before. Well, I think this worked. ;)

It's based on a scary story/joke I heard often as a kid:

I'm Gonna Eat You

(click title to go to source)
There were these 3 guys. They had to find a place to stay so they went to a hotel.
The first guy went up to the counter and asked the clerk if he had any rooms for the night. The clerk said we only have one room and its the attic. I'll give you a gun, a knife, or a flash light. The first guy said,"I'll take the gun." The clerk said ok and gave him the key to the attic.
The guy went up to the attic, and he heard a voice, "I've go you wher I want you now. I'm gonna eat you!" The guy got so scared that he shot himself.
The second guy went up to the clerk and said, "Do you have any rooms for the night?" The clerk said, "I only have the attic and I can give you a knife or a flashlight." The man said, "I'll take he knife." The clerk gave him the knife and the key to the attic. The man walked up to the attic, and heard a voice, "I've go you wher I want you now. I'm gonna eat you!" The man got so scared that he stabbed himself.
The third guy went to the clrk and asked if there were any rooms. The clerk said only the attic. The clerk gave the guy a flashlight. The man went up to the attic and heard a voice, "I've go you wher I want you now. I'm gonna eat you!" The man turned the flashlight on and opened the closet door and saw this little boy sitting there picking his nose, eating his boogers, and saying, "I've got you where I want you now. I'm gonna eat you!"

Muwahahahahahaha! Yep, I really did create a booger for my blog! And by create I don't mean by my body, because I promise you it's totally fake!

See! Just a little bit of hair glue, some Color Club Tribe and True, BarryM Paprika, BarryM Cotton, and Poshe Top Coat.

Voila! Booger!

Enjoy!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Hobbies

Hello Owlets! I have a new adventure to share with you, a rather grand adventure! It's a new nail art challenge from Crumpet's Nail Tarts called 40 Great Nail Art Ideas.

It's a fabulous new challenge with prompts for each week, we post on Fridays, with a huge link up! So many fabulous ideas to be inspired by!

Today's prompt is hobbies! Besides nail art and polish my other (ok, one of my many other) hobby is makeup. I love it, I work with it, I buy, I hoard collect it! My job is being a Prestige Manager at Ulta I get to play with makeup all day helping others find products and color matching them so they get the right items. I get to go to classes with the brands and learn about their products!
I get to help change a life when I am able to cover and conceal imperfections that they do not like. To hear them gasp and see their face when they look into the mirror and love what they see.  To see a guest leave with their head held high warms my heart!

One of my favorite brands is Urban Decay. This is most of my Urban Decay makeup, what's missing is the palette I created from depotting other shadow palettes (and it's full!). My goal is to own every single eyeliner they make as well as the Moondust shadows (they are the light silver circle shadows that you can see in the photo). I am way pumped to see what Urban Decay and Gwen Stefani have created! Can't wait to see that line!

So I decided to create a mani that is inspired by the Vice 4 Palette, specifically the bag it comes with.

I used Color Club Harp on It as my base. Needed the silver holo to match the holo lines on the bag! I stamped using Konad Black and Pet'la Geomatrix, the image was perfect for it! I used HK Girl topcoat to make it shine!

I really loved how this turned out! Sorry for some tip wear, really hard to wrap tips with nubs! >_<

If you want to follow us, you can find our Pinterest Board here - all the members will also be sharing the collages on IG and Facebook with the above hashtags. I hope you enjoy and find it as useful as we're finding it fun!

And don't forget to check out the other hobbies that we all love!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Fandom Week: Star Trek

Day 2 of The Digit-al Dozen Does Fandom Week and I bring you one of the most famous fandoms of all: Trekkies or Trekkers (depending on who you talk to and the type of fan they are). And how can I do a fandom themed week without including Star Trek!?

I attempted to use my Sugar Bubbles SB014 plate to create my Spock image. I think I need longer nails for any image to work. The Star Trek symbol is also from the same plate. I used Konad Black to stamp the images. Except for my pinkie in which I used Color Club Harp On It.

For the base colors I used OPI Fiercely Fiona, Zoya Sooki, BarryM Malibu all over Wet n Wild Black Creme to create the shirt colors, and I used Wet n Wild Black Creme on my pinkie. I used Color Club Cherubic and Harp On It with A England Briar Rose and Tristam, and OPI Fiercely Fiona to create a single galaxy nail. Sealed all with HK Girl Top Coat.

Here are some pretty fantastic Star Trek based songs. Enjoy!

The Digit-al Dozen Patterns on Patterns: Bleep Bloop Bloop Bleep!

Bleep bloop bloop bleep! That means I love you in robot! :) Today I have some stamping, not just double stamping, no no, that's child's play, I have triple stamping (that's right I'm playing with the big boys now! *cue Prince of Egypt Steve Martin and Martin Short song).

I started out with this glorious SpaRitual polish Nomad (sandy matte shimmer!). Look at the flecks in there! Ooo-weee! She's a beaut! I then proceeded to goop up my cuticles with hair glue. I use a little plastic spatula that you use to get creams out of jars. You know, those sample ones that Sephora gives you or that you see at Ulta.

I stamped using the beautiful Briar Rose by A England. I've been using my Creative Shop big huge stamper and I'm in love! I used MoYou Sailor 03. Thank goodness for the goo!

Next I added what ended up looking like holographic spiderwebs using Color Club Cherubic and Bundle Monster BM-316. It's like a laser show!

Finally ended up added some adorkable love bots from MoYou Sci-Fi 02 and A England Saint George. I did top it off with HK Girl Top Coat and *le gasp* shrinkage! Say what? HK Girl has never done this to me before. So sad! I mean, I guess I can't really wrap my tips when I have no free edge now can I? :)

Ack! Giant thumb! D'aw but cute little love bot.

I really liked this mani but I think I really liked the base stamping photos best. But a little love bot love never hurt anyone! Am I right?

The Digit-al Dozen Does Fairytales: Rumplestilskin

Day two of The Digit-al Dozen Does Fairytales and today I have Rumplestilskin. This is the story about the little imp who can spin straw into gold. (see what I did there?)

Still in nubbin-land and used Color Club Tribe and True (two coats) as my base. I chose this color because Rumplestilskin on Once Upon a Time has a bit of a green tinge to his face. I think used gold striping tape and bristles that I cut off a brush. I used Poshe Top Coat to hold the "straw" in place.

Not very detailed, in my mind it was totally more detailed. :) But I still like the outcome!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents Dots: Holiday Dotticure!

I actually found time to get a few posts up for this week! This is for The Nail Challenge Collaborative theme for this month, which is: Dots! I brought to you some holiday dots!

I started off with two coats of Layla Softouch Effects 02 (Golden Touch). I then used Color Club Harp On It, A England Briar Rose, and A England Dragon. All topped off with NYC Quick Dry polish.

Funny thing is when I started to edit these photos I noticed a few others who have done similar holiday dots recently in the blogger-verse! :)

Don't forget to check out the other day 1 dots!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Winter Wonderland: A Cozy Holo Gradient!

Hello my Owlets! Sorry for being MIA lately; I've had a few bad months. But doctor visit and some new meds and I hope things are going to be better! It's great to be back!

But guess what! It's a new month so that means a new Digit-al Dozen theme: Winter Wonderland! Today I have a cozy holo gradient with some subtle stamping on an accent nail. Is it super winter wonderland-y? I think so, it's like hot chocolate and pine trees. :)

Here is the gradient without the stamping. I used Color Club Cherubic (two coats) as my base on three of my nails and A England Dragon (two coats) on my accent nail. I then did gradients to add some depth and interest! :) I used Model City Polish Dipping Chocolate on my three nails with A England Saint George on my accent nail.

Aren't these holos amazing! I love them! This is the last mani I created for this week and my favorite! In fact I did both hands! Whoa! I hope it stays for a few days. :)

Ah! Close up! Here's to show both the stamping (Bundle Monster BM607 using Color Club Harp on It) and the flare, rainbow, gorgeousness of all the holo goodness! And of course I used HK Girl Top Coat to seal in the gorgeousness!

What do you think? Trying a few new things like photo size and shape and hand position. Yay? Nay?

Don't forget to check out the other ladies and their Winter Wonderland manis!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Thankfulness: Family

Day three of The Digit-al Dozen Does Thankfulness and today I am thankful for my family. Don't know if you can tell that this is suppose to be a tree. This is my family tree. My family is a close family, we all get along and like to be around each other, weird right? Without my family I know I wouldn't be the person I am today. They have taught me about like and helped me to know right from wrong and have the morals that I have. They are my roots in life. I know that I can always count on my family no matter what.

I have represented all of my family in the tree. The two hearts (yes, that is what they are suppose to be) are my mother and father. My mother passed away in 2006, I miss her dearly but I know she is in a better place and is no longer in pain.

My index finger upper branch is my brother (three years older than me), his wife and their three kids. See how each are represented by a leaf.

The lower branch on my index finger is my other brother (five years older) and his wife.

My middle finger is my sister (seven years older) and her husband and five kids.

And lastly on my pinkie or baby finger and I am the baby in the family is my leaf.

Though my family isn't broken, but we aren't perfect but we are good, still good.

I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as the base. The tree is OPI It's All San Andreas's Fault with the leaves Color Club Tribe and True and A England Dragon. The hearts are BarryM Blood Orange.

Don't forget to check out the others and their thankful manis!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents: Geometric - Random Shapes!

Final day of The Nail Challenge Collaborative's theme of Geometric and I give you Random Shapes that remind me of the opening credits to Saved by the Bell!

See!?

For this base I have another mystery China Glaze (probably a franken, bought at a beauty supply store< but still pretty!). I stamped using Barry M Pomegranate and Color Club Harp on It using Cheeky CH9. Harp on It is only slightly noticeable but gives it extra shimmer. I then did a quick free-hand french tip using Barry M Guava and sealed it with HK Girl Top Coat.

Any guess on the mysterious base polish for this one?

The Digit-al Dozen Does Summer: Haboob!

Day four of The Digit-al Dozen Does Summer and I bring you a Haboob! A hab-what? A Haboob is an intense dust storm. And let me tell you, I hate them!

First, let me tell you how my pretty Haboob was formed. I used China Glaze Electric Beat for my sky and China Glaze Starboard for my grass (which I dabbed on). I then stamped using MoYou Sailor 03 for the different swirls of dust. I wanted to show the Haboob from thick dust to lighter dust. I stamped using Konad Brown and Color Club Cherubic. I sealed it with Poshe top coat. Pretty right?

But a Haboob isn't pretty and shiny. So I used Essie Matte About You to make it dusty.

I really hate Haboobs. They are one of my triggers for anxiety. Below I have posted a few videos, they are a bit long, but if you've never seen one then you should watch. Because even though I hate them, they are awesome (and not the totally awesome kind of awesome, but the awe-inspiring, frightening awesome) to watch.

I did not film these and I don't advise holding your phone/camera while driving in these (or at all!). You are to pull over off the road a ways and come to a stop, turn off your lights, and take your foot off the brakes (this way no one follows you and crashes into you). I don't like these.

Don't forget to check out what the other ladies are doing for summer!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents: Skittles - Holos!

Second Skittle post for The Nail Challenge Collaborative! Today I decided to do an all holo skittle!

Holos are so beautiful in person but sometimes are a pain to capture on camera!

From left to right: Above the Curve Banana to a Party, Nail Nation 3000 Rumpel Stiltskin, Different Dimension That's Just Ducky, and Nail Nation 3000 Glow Worm. I stamped using Color Club Cherubic and MoYou Sailor 03. Each nail has OPI My Vampire is Buff as a base color so that I didn't have to do so many layers! And I sealed them all with HK Girl Top Coat!

Easy-peasy!

Don't forget to check out the other second day skittle posts!

Butterfly Mani!

So, I finally did a butterfly mani! Finally, geesh, get with the times here! Whatever! I specifically did this mani because my family and I were going to Butterfly Wonderland! It's a way cool place with a butterfly habitat with thousands of butterflies flying around! I loved it!

This slightly out of focus shot was to get the holos to show more, it was taken on my phone (the first photo is in my lightbox). Stupid wonky baby finger! This is why I hold a bottle in my hand! :)

I started out with Nail Nation 3000 Carpe Diem (a white slight holo polish). I did about two coats. I then did a gradient using Nail Nation 3000 Glow Worm, Rumple Stiltskin, and Carpe Diem. I love how the colors fade into each other! I stamped using Color Club Revvvolution and Nailz Craze NC01. Topped off with HK Girl Top Coat.

The lady collecting tickets really liked my nails! :)

Thought I would show you a few of my many many photos that I took. :) This was when you first walked in. Just look at all those butterflies!

This is the back of my nephew. The butterflies really liked him. He had at least four land on him. My other nephew had one on his backpack for a long time and on his hat! Isn't it beautiful! These blue ones were everywhere! Flying all over the place almost dive-bombing you! I believe (and this is just based on a handout) this is a Morpho peleides (Blue Morpho).

This one was my favorite. Didn't see too many of these guys. The color in person was just gorgeous! This is a (again just from the handout) Papillio palinurus (Banded Peacock).

I had a friend land on me!

This "little" guy (Idea leuconoe, Paper Kite) (maybe?)  (different from the one previous) landed on my thigh and crawled all the way up to my shoulder! It was hilarious! I have more photos of his trip up, but I really don't want to post those ones! :) And ugh! Taking a photo from below your face.....not a good idea! Bleh!

My niece was trying to get a photo of the butterflies flying all around but I photo-bombed her picture! Hahaha! It was so hot and humid in this habitat! We liked to stay in this one little corner because of the fans! So my hair is all flat because I was "glistening" like crazy! :)

We also got to touch some stingrays! That's my niece's hand. She was so scared of it! Every time it came over to her she would pull her hand out! We could only put two fingers into the water against the wall (that's how they are fed) and they would come up to you! They felt really weird! Like a slug!

Um, yeah. Not my real voice. I was having some fun saying "hello, to my little friend". You know, like Scarface? Anyone? Anyone? My niece thought it was funny, you can hear her laughing. :)
