The Digit-al Dozen Does Metal Week: Luxe Life

Day 2 of Metal week for The Digit-al Dozen. And today I have a simple but classy mani! To me it's very luxurious!

I started with two coats of Revlon Motorcycle Jacket from their Leather Collection. An interesting polish. I thought there would be more of an effect than there really was. But I still like it dried. I then used my really old, really tiny Avon Luxe Life Brushed Gold polish to create a simple line on my nails.

The Prestige: The Neverending Pile Challenge and The Nail Challenge Collaborative

Ok, I have about an hour (my time) until April 21 is done. So I think I can put together this post in enough time! I've been so busy lately what with my new job at Ulta going from a Beauty Adviser to Prestige Manager! It's so fun to be over all the higher end make-up and take classes about them! But it means I work more (it's still only part time) and I've had less time to put up my posts!

Today I am combining two challenges! First is The Neverending Pile Challenge: Drugstore (polishes you can find at your local drugstore) and The Nail Challenge Collaborative: Music/Movies/TV. I just joined The Nail Challenge Collaborative and am super excited! A theme is picked each month and we have to post 4 manis through out the month of that theme.

So today I give you a mani using two drugstore polishes that have never been used (this is for the Neverending Pile Challenge): one coat of Revlon Iconic and two-ish coats of Sally Hansen Frazzle Dazzle. And the movie I chose to go along with this is quite fitting for me: The Prestige. (see what I did there? If not, read the first paragraph again! Hahaha!).

Revlon Iconic is a really nice grey that has a smoky mystery quality to it (perfect for magic like in The Prestige). And Sally Hansen Frazzle Dazzle is the copper that the Tesla items are made of! Using I pair grey and silver together, but I really do like the way these look! What I don't like is the bar glitter that is in Frazzle Dazzle. Pfft. Didn't know about that when I bought it.

Don't forget to check out the other drugstore polishes!

And don't forget to see what Music/Movies/TV the other chose!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Monochromatic Week : Neutrals

Welcome to the first Digit-al Dozen Week of 2014! And we are doing monochromatic! Today I choose to do neutrals to go along with my Neutral Mondays that I have been doing. I was inspired by TopCoatIt: Chocolate Mountains, mine are just grey! :)

A reason to break out a ton of grey? Yes please! And this isn't even a pinch of my greys! Mmmm, I love me greys! So calming and purdy!

I started out with Essence Romeo as my base (best grey ever!) Then I used Catrice London's Weather Forecast, followed by Duri Gin Greyhound, and then Revlon Iconic. I topped it off with my fabulous grey glitter that I had custom made by Dragon Lacquer called: Geeky Owl! :)

Topped it off with NYC In a New York Minute. I love how this turned out. Simple but very neat.

Neutral Mondays: Revlon Autumn Spice

Today on Neutral Monday I have a polish that I searched stores for weeks until I finally found it! This is Revlon Autumn Spice. It is part of their Parfumerie line.

I've never had a scented polish before because a lot of times they are way too strong and perfum-y. But I heard so many good things about this one, I knew I had to try it.

This is two coats topped with HK Girl Top Coat. And yes, you can still smell the spice scent, even after a few days! I just love the color! It is gorgeous!

Funny story, while buying this polish (finally found it at Ulta!) the cashier said that this was the only good smelling one in the line. She said when they came in she sat there and smelled them all! Hahaha!

I haven't tried any of the others. Have you? Do you like them?

January and February's Haul and a ton of Catrice!

First off, these have my old watermark. I edited these awhile back, sorry! :)

Today's post is my January Haul! And I am so excited for these pretties here! Catrice! Yes! I so wish these were available here in the US. You have already seen some of these being used in my posts. But I thought I would show you the whole haul! :)

I got these from Jewli over at Fanning the Fumes. Thank you Jewli! So, at the top we have a polish that isn't Catrice but Essence Aquarius. Then we have Catrice No Snow Petrol, Big City Life San Francisco. On the bottom we have: Catrice Greys Kelly, Put Lavender on Agenda, Purpleized, Steel My Heart, How I Matt Your Mother, and Steel My Soul.

Oops! This little guy was forgotten and came later in the mail. See! Not all of them were purple and teal! :) This is Catrice ACid/DC

Up next is the rest of my haul!

Here we have China Glaze Angel Wings and Glistening Snow. Thank you Sally's clearance sale! Woot!

The minis of the OPI So So Skullicious. Hi Pumpkin, A-Rose from the Dead, Mourning Glory, and Candlelight. Nothing too special about these I just liked some of the colors and the packaging is fun! Got this from Ulta.

Here we have OPI Thanks a Windmillon. This was not on sale but I had a coupon and saw so many swatches lately of it that I knew I needed it! Then we have OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. Debbie over at The Crumpet swears by this polish, so I got it for clearance at Ulta! :) Next we have a cute little Orly Velvet Rope. He was clearance at Sallys and just too cute to pass up!

This is China Glaze Def Defying and Recycle. I got these from my beauty supply store I go to! Cheaper prices rock! :)

Also from my beauty supply store some Sation polishes! Feliz Navi-Doll a grey shimmer! Shyest Shade, similar to China Glaze Snowglobe. And 3 Freedom, a light taupe.

Some amazing Indies! Pretty & Polished Steampunk. Needed it for the name and the colors! Gorgeous! Next to it is Hit Polish Like, Gag Me With Glitter. I won this little gorgeous guy because I won the naming contest! Yep I named this one! To me it looked like all the colors of the '80s so valley speak was a must! Like, gag me with glitter! :)

I finally got the new Cheeky set that came out last year!

And finally a part of my Christmas present from my sister! Nailz Craze NC03 plate! It took awhile to get here with some paypal issues but Natalie (the owner and creator) was very awesome and understanding! Fabulous customer service! I love this plate and can't wait to use it! :)

So that was just January. Up next is February!

These are all from Ulta Clearance! L'Oreal Tweet Me, look at those flakies and shimmer! Next we have OPI Get In The Expresso Lane and Essie Little Brown Dress. I am told these are great for stamping! Finally we have OPI Don't Touch My Tutu.

Sally Hansen Lickety-Split Lime, Sally Hansen Gone Grey, and Revlon Iconic. More stamping polishes! And then a beautiful Essence Oh My Glitter!

Some Indies? Yes please! I came across this lovely polish Beyond the Goblin City by The Lady Varnishes. I had to get it because it's based on The Labyrinth! Next to is Glimmer by Erica Cherry Blossom and Elixir Lacquer Double D-Struction.

Back shot off:  Beyond the Goblin City by The Lady Varnishes, Glimmer by Erica Cherry Blossom, and Elixir Lacquer Double D-Struction.

I also got this China Glaze for super duper cheap but I don't know it's name!

Here is a swatch of it. What the heck? It's like textured. Did someone franken it at the supply store? I have no idea? Do any of you?

Nail decals from RLR Creations Nail Art.

A butt-load  of owl decals! I got these from ebay!

Whew! That's it! Now to catalog and put them all away! :)

31 Day Challenge 2013 Day 23: Glitter! Dupe Alert!

Yes! An easy day! 31 Day Challenge 2013! (relaxed version) Day 23: Glitter! Oh yeah! But I couldn't just do glitter right? This is a comparison/dupe post! Say what? These aren't the same glittery goodness glitters? Nope. Sorry!

Here is one coat of Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance (index and ring fingers) and Revlon Scandalous (middle and pinkie fingers). I know, this is a bit old news but I haven't done this post yet and I have been meaning to do it! :) As you can tell, Bad Romance has a darker/blacker base. But both have purple hex glitter and micro glitter.

Here is two coats of each in direct light.  Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance (index and ring fingers) and Revlon Scandalous (middle and pinkie fingers). As you can see both are about the same opacity now. But, Scandalous' glitter seems to pop more. This could be because it's own base isn't as dark.

Bottle shot, they look like identical twins. But maybe more like fraternal twins in person?

Here is my first photo again. So, do you need both? Nah, I wouldn't. Not sure how readily Revlon's Scandalous is anymore, but if you can find it I would get that one. Two reasons: the glitter pops more and cheaper! :)

Don't forget to check out the glittery goodness of the other ladies!
