Teal Tuesdays - Mani Swap

This week's tealicure is a Mani Swap with another member of Teal Tuesdays! We were partnered up by Missy and then we needed to look through our partner's blog and find a mani and re-create it using teal! All the while keeping it a secret on who we got! :)

I loved this idea a lot! I looked through my partner's blog and deciding what to do. I came across some nail art that I have been meaning to try. So I completed it and then looked at our facebook page and saw that she had done the same design (different colors and this time actually for Teal Tuesdays) again! Hahaha! Love it! It was meant to be! :)

So, here is my tealicure for today!

It is cloud art. Super fun and super easy! Who was my partner? Drumroll.................Once Upon a Polish!

This is the mani that I chose to re-create (please click on the image to be sent to her post!). I love the colors that she chose to use! She talked about using silver in the clouds as her silver lining! Love it! That's why I added silver in mine!

And then this is the most recent cloud mani she did (please click on the image to be sent to her post!)! I thought it was funny that did it again just as I finished mine! Granted she posted this before I finished but I never saw it! :)

For my cloud tealicure I used OPI Fly as the base with Nail Savvy Chrome (stinks to high heaven!) and then Catrice Dirty Berry. I also have a coat of HK Girl Top Coat.

Have you tried the cloud mani before?

Teal Tuesdays was started because teal is unloved and needed its own day of celebration!
Teal is a medium to dark bluish green color of low saturation; a dark cyan.
Open to interpretation, anything green with a hint of blue or blue with a hint of green is welcome here!
Aqua, Turquoise,Tiffany Blue, etc etc...all are welcome - we do not discriminate!

Teal Tuesdays - 3 Color Mani

This week's tealicure is a 3 Color Mani! What to do, what to do? So this week was really crazy and busy so I decided to do something very simple and I actually really like how it turned out! :)

Yep, I used my mani from yesterday as the base! :) Nope, not cheating at all. That's planning a head! :) I call this a Freckled Funky French Tip. (oh the alliteration!)

So I used China Glaze Pelican Gray and topped it with Holo Top Coat 14 and 20. I then tipped it with A England's Saint George and Wet 'n Wild's Tangled in My Web.

What do you think? Too simple? Too weird? :)

Teal Tuesdays - Something Sweet!

Teal Tuesdays! I'm back! Feels like I haven't done this in forever! But I only missed one week. >_< Well, this week we decided on Something Sweet. There could be so many interpretations of this! But I had one image in mind for this mani the whole time.

A nice simple stamped mani! Sweet and simple! :) I hope you all see the Something Sweet that I have going for this mani! :) I used one coat of Essence Bella. I really love this polish, applies flawlessly! :) I stamped using Barry M Silver Foil Effects. I used Bundle Monster BM 306 for most of the mani and Konad Q1 on my ring finger! Yummy and delicious! :)

Another shot, more in the sun. Sometimes it's grand to have a simple sweet mani! :)

Teal Tuesdays - Ovarian Cancer Awareness

This week our tealicure is to support a good cause! It is to raise awareness for Ovarian Cancer. September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month with September 7th being National Wear Teal Day!

I decided to keep it simple and straight to the point! :) This is Essence Romeo and A England Saint George using the Bundle Monster BM321 plate. Isn't it perfect! Teal ribbons!

Here I tried my HK Girl topcoat that I talked about last week here. And you know what? No dragging or smearing of my stamped image! And look at that shine! Shiny sparkly teal ribbons! :) You can purchase HK Girl Top Coat at Glisten & Glow

The is a group called Teal Toes (facebook group here and website here) that talks about wearing teal in to raise awareness. The website states:
"Our mission is to raise awareness of ovarian cancer.
How?  By painting your toenails teal, the ovarian cancer color.  By getting your friends to paint their toenails teal too, and then by talking with people when they ask about it, to make sure that they know the signs of this whispering killer.
Any time of year is good for teal toes, but we especially recommend September, the ovarian cancer awareness month!"
Please spread the word by showing your teal! For more information please visit Teal Toes or Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

There are also some polish companies that are donating sales to Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Color Club has a set of polish, OCRF Polish, and they will donate 50% off the proceeds for an entire year! Please click the image below to be sent to the site!

Also, Diamond Cosmetics is donating a dollar for every kit sold! Please click image below to be sent to their site!

Such awesome deals and service! Please check them out and let's raise some awareness! Painting my toes teal tonight! :)

Don't forget to check out the other ladies that are showing support and awareness with their tealicures and our fancy links! :)

Teal Tuesdays - Funky French

So I had this grand idea of stamping or french tape mani or layers or clean and crisp and simple. But as I put on my base french tip color I had an epiphany. And here is how my mani turned out. I am so loving this mani it's ridiculous!

Voila! Isn't it so purdy! I have no shame with this mani. I never expected it to work out so well! I am so proud of it! :) The colors I used are OPI Pink-a-Doodle. This is the natural look of my nails. It is beautiful pink with a deeper pink flash (gorgeous!) but the flash doesn't like to be photographed. Pink-a-Doodle is my new go-to french mani base! Love!

I also used OPI Fly and the base for the french tip. I then sponged China Glaze Atlantis and the sponged Once Upon a Polish Under the Sea over that!

Another photo just because! :) You can buy Once Upon a Polish here and her facebook page is here.

And yep another. I promise they are three different photos! :) I love the random square holo glitter found in Under the Sea it add a bit of dimension! :)

OPI Pink-a-Doddle and OPI Fly as tips. Uneven tips. But that's what the glitter hides! :)

Teal Tuesdays - Jelly Sandwich

This week's tealicure is a Jelly Sandwich or Jelly Sammich. I love me some Jelly Sammiches! :) But alas the weather would not agree with me and so I had to do a very quick mani. :( So here we go again with another less than perfect mani.

It kinda went all gloopy! But other than that I like it! To me it looks like Certs breath mints! hahaha!

I used Color Club French Tip as my base with Essence Edward as the glitter (a greener teal in some lights) and Essie Marshmallow for the top! Marshmallow is a perfect topper for a Jelly Sammich! :) Actually that sort of sounds disgusting! hahahaha! :)

Teal Tuesdays - CopyCat Mani

So this week we decided to make our tealicures a recreation of someone else's mani. I had a bit of a time trying to come up with some ideas, because this week has been kind of a crazy one (I've been spending as much time as I can with my new nephew) so I did my mani and it turned out alright in person but in photos it didn't end up like I wanted it to. But I still do like the main aspect of the mani. So I thought I would still use it!

This is suppose to be a straw splatter mani. Hahahahaha! The straws were not working for me today. And have you ever tried doing a straw splatter mani using teal! Big big mistake! Stains everywhere!!! Hahahaha!
I could use this as a when manis go horribly wrong! Haha! :) Can you tell I don't take my self so seriously! Every once in awhile we are allowed a less than perfect mani, right? ;)

So I used p2 Groovy as my base and "splattered" using KleanColor Metallic Aqua, Essence Bella, China Glaze Atlantis, and Joe Fresh Teal (he is the culprit to covering the other polishes!). I used OPI Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees Suede for my Tokidoki symbol.

Here are the polishes I used: OPI Suzy Skis in the Pyrenees Suede, Joe Fresh Teal, China Glaze Atlantis, Essence Bella, KleanColor Metallic Aqua, and p2 Groovy.

So my mani wasn't perfect but it was still fun and it was fun to create. I was also glad to learn a new trick creating the Tokidoki symbol. And I do love my Tokidoki symbol that I recreated! Have you guessed who's mani I chose?

Gnarly Gnails Tokidoki Tutorial! I love how her's turned out! And I love the Tokidoki symbol! :)

Here is a what p2 Groovy looked like before it got covered up (especially by Joe Fresh Teal!)

Teal Tuesdays - Braided Mani

So we usually have options to vote on for the theme for Tuesdays. And the braided/fishtail/herringbone mani was an option. And I actually voted for it! Why did I do that? I don't even really like this trend! Don't get me wrong, sometimes it can be really pretty, but it isn't me! At all. But I voted for it because then if it won it would force me to actually try it. Well, as you can see, it won, and I tried it. I don't think I failed miserably, but I've seen prettier. :)

There you have it. Not horrible for a first try on something I wasn't super excited for. The layers or whatever they are called aren't even but oh well, I'm not really even either! :) And this is the only photo out of like 30 that I took. It was off and on cloudy but also, for some odd reason it didn't want to photograph. Kept being blurry. So, extra large photo is what you get today! :)

I love the colors together though. The base is OPI Fly. I used OPI Planks A Lot and OPI Skull & Glossbones. Yep, it's a good ol' OPI braided mani! Woot! :)

***EDIT***

I totally forgot to show where I got the know-how on doing this trend! (I have no idea how I could forget that!) I found a wonderful picture tutorial from Lucy's Stash. (please click the link or the image to be sent to her site!)

What about you? Is there a trend that you don't really like? And have you attempted that said trend or do you stay far away from it?

Teal Tuesdays - Half Moon!

Today's tealicure is the Half-Moon! Don't you love our new fancy logo! Thank you Missy at Gnarly Gnails! So, I'm not going to lie, but I wasn't too thrilled at this being chosen as the tealicure this week. I've never loved this type of mani before. But I bucked up and decided to give it a whirl!

Not the best mind you, but gosh darn it it's pretty good for a first try! :) I used Essence Romeo from the Nail Art Twins as my base and then applied Essence Bella over top! I used these two colors because they are both wonder one-coat no fail cremes! I love them a ton! And look how super shiny they are too! This is no top coat!

Now, my half-moons aren't super half-moony. But that could be because I didn't really use super circular stickers to create the effect. I know a lot of people use reinforcements (school supplies) but I didn't have any! Would you like to see what I used instead? I was running out of time to do this mani and had to come up with something quick.

Hahahaha! Flower stickers! And gasp! Please excuse the horrible paint job (obviously this is pre-clean up) but I was trying to get the polish to go all the way on each side of the sticker and it kinda got on the sides of my nails/fingers. Hence why there is some teal stainage in the top picture. Teal is horrible for staining!

It's not a perfect half-moon but you know what I am ok with that! And you know what? After having this on for a while, I kinda started to actually like this trend! I may have to try it again! :)

Teal Tuesdays - Glitterbomb!

This week's Tealicure is a Glitterbomb! Well, then, bombs away! This magical mani is made up of four glitters all over OPI Skull & Glossbones (hence the bottle shot here). I love how this turned out! :)

Here are the four gorgeous glitters! Yummy! Once Upon a Polish Under the Sea, Essence Edward, China Glaze Atlantis, and Sally Hansen Teal-y Cool.

Macro bottle shot of Once Upon a Polish Under the Sea. Um, gorgeous! Teal hex glitter with silver square glitter! Perfection! And did I mention they are holos? Yep!

Macro bottle shot of Essence Edward. Bahahahaha! Still makes me laugh that he is the glitter out of the Twins (Bella being the creme). This is a lovely teal square and hex glitters with micro holo glitters.

Macro bottle shot of China Glaze Atlantis. This is made up of billions of teal micro holo glitters in a teal base! Love!

Macro bottle shot of Sally Hansen Teal-y Cool. Can I just say that Sally Hansen bottles are very lame to do macro shots with. Their sticker covers the whole bottle! Grrr! But this is a lesser version, lessed packed with glitters than Atlantis but it is still lovely!

Here is a macro of one of my fingers to show you the layers of this mani. I love how it turned out! And see! You can see Skull & Glossbones peeking out at the top! :)

And a final photo, the hallelujah sun shot photo of my Glitterbomb Tealicure. Boo-yah! :)

Now, question for you all. How do you prefer the photos? I decided to change it up yesterday and today. If I do my photos more vertical I can get the whole polish bottle in the picture.

So my question to you all (and to see if you truly are reading this post! Hahaha, no not really!) should I continue with the vertical photos like above or go back to the horizontal photos (ex: the bottle shot photo of the four glitters I used). Thank you for your input! :)
