TGIF: Indie Month: Day 5 - A England Saint George

Day 5 of Indie Month is also TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indy Indie Friday! And today I bring you A England: Saint George. Saint George is from the Legends Collection and is drop dead gorgeous! A gorgeous dark teal with scattered holo!

Here is one coat of A England Saint George and one coat of OPI Skull & Glossbones. Saint George is a one-coater! Woot! Saving polish one stroke at a time! Thank you! :)

Here is two coats of Saint George and a dragon stamped using Saint George and Chez-Delaney plate D25. Yep, Saint George is perfect for stamping! Of course I had to stamp a dragon right? :)

Good golly! Just look at this polish! Gorgeous! And the scattered holo is wonderful! The formula, like all the A England's I own is spot on perfection! Love love love!

Another lovely unique polish! And it can stamp? Bonus! Epic win! :)

This polish is a regular for A England. But sadly it is from across the pond (England, duh!) and the Royal Mail is being silly right now. So you cannot order directly from A England right now. :(

But! You can order A England polishes from: Ninja Polish and Llarowe! Thank you ladies! (that is until their supply is gone, sad.)

Here is A England's official site.
Don't forget to check out the A England Facebook page to be up-to-date!

And don't forget to check out Emma's TGIF post over at Manicurity, my TGIF partner in crime!

And stay tuned for next week, it's a special week, it's my birthday week! And what does that mean? Maybe a few of manis with my favorite animal! Not telling you what animal that is -- wink wink. ;)

Teal Tuesdays - Feathers

This week's Tealicure is Feathers! So I decided to try and re-do my peacock mani from a few months ago. My base is GOSH Ocean, which looks way more teal in the bottle than on the nail. But I still liked it so I decided to continue with it. The feather stamp is from Chez Delaney, plate H6. I used KleanColor in Metallic Green and Metallic Purple. The green didn't quite show up as defined as I wanted but I love the bright tropical feel of this mani! :)  (And yes, I did file my nails down a bit which shows off my fatter ring finger! hahaha!)

Here is GOSH Ocean on it's own. Note my middle finger and the ugliness of the application of the polish. This formula wasn't the greatest and left brush strokes. But the feather stamp covered it up just nicely! :)

GOSH Ocean is a duochrome of a sort and here it is a brighter paler blue in this picture. Even though this polish gave me some problems I still think it is a gorgeous bright happy color! :)

Teal Tuesdays was started because teal is unloved and needed its own day of celebration!
Teal is a medium to dark bluish green color of low saturation; a dark cyan.
Open to interpretation, anything green with a hint of blue or blue with a hint of green is welcome here!
Aqua, Turquoise,Tiffany Blue, etc etc...all are welcome - we do not discriminate!

Adventures in Stamping: Plate Ending in a 5

So this week for our stamping challenge we needed to use a plate ending in a 5. Well this my dear readers is a plate ending in a 5. It is Chez-Delaney D25. And yes, this is a repeat picture (shhh! don't tell!) But it is such an awesome plate of geekery goodness! LOST, Thundercats, Ghostbusters, and Batman! Genius!!!!!!

On my pointer finger (top) is Essie Marshmallow (three coats and SV) with Konad Special Black.

My middle finger is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Black Out (two coats ans SV) with Konad Special Red.

Ring finger is Essie Marshmallow (three coats and SV) with Konad Special Red.

And finally on my pinky is Sinful Colors Unicorn (two coats and SV) with Konad Special Black. (yes vintage Batman colors but newest Batman trailer!)

Here is a different angle and different lighting. Trying to get the red of the Thundercats to pop more.

Don't you just love geeky things!? I sure do!

LOSTathon: Season 2

Day 2 = Season 2 LOSTicure

Here is my representation of season 2 of LOST:

Thumb: are the 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, and 42. These numbers occurred frequently on LOST. They are the numbers that need to be entered into the computer in the hatch, they are the numbers that Hurley won the lottery with, they are the numbers that represent the final candidates to replace Jacob as protector of the island (not this season).
Pointer: is the Dharma (Department of Heuristics And Research on Material Application) Initiative logo. This is the first time we really find out about them from inside the hatch and other stations. We find out the hatch is the Swan Station.
Middle: represents the tail section of the plane and it's survivors, some being: Eko, Ana Lucia, Libby (poor Libby), and Bernard.
Ring: represents the hot air balloon that brought Henry Gale to the island. But we later find out the real Henry Gale was killed and Ben stole his identity. This is the first time we meet Benjamin Linus.
Pinkie: is a gun (yes, it's suppose to be a gun!) and it represents the struggle with power and the need of guns, and how many people die because of guns in this season (Shannon, Ana Lucia, Libby)

Here are the technicals for the mani:

Thumb: Color Club French Tip with OPI Skull & Glossbones over it, and Finger Paints Groovy Green.
Pointer: Color Club French Tip, Konad Special Black, and Chez Delaney plate D25.
Middle: Essie Borrowed & Blue, Sally Hansen Deep Blue Sea, China Glaze Trendsetter with Essence The Dawn is Broken over top, and Wet n' Wild Black Creme.
Ring: Essie Borrowed & Blue, Catrice Lost in Mud, Zoya Sooki, and Wet n' Wild Black Creme.
Pinkie: China Glaze Pelican Gray and Sally Hansen Gun Metal.

What did I love about this season?
-I loved the relationship between Hurley and Libby! (poor Libby!)
-Desmond and his accent! *swoon* (brother! said in his accent!)
-I love Rose and Bernard and their reunion!
-Ana Lucia died. :)

What did I hate about this season?
-Libby died!
-The eerie Walt visions of Shannon, kinda creepy
-Shannon's death, though she wasn't a favorite character I do like Sayid and felt sad for him!
-Michael and Walt's entire storyline. Not a fan of either!
-Ana Lucia. Did not like her character at all!
-Still making my brow wrinkle! (but I also love that about the show too!)

Now to wait until tomorrow for season 3, at least you only have to wait a day and not a whole summer! ;)

Adventures in Stamping: Easter Mani

So, I realized I only have one real-legitimate Easter themed stamp. Chez-Delaney plate H6. A teeny tiny chick popping out of an egg. Easter! Huh? It's the best I could do in the amount of time I didn't have. But I think it still turned out cute, not the best I've ever done, but we are all allowed these types of days (some more than others).

So I started with Models Own Lemon Meringue. And can I tell you what calming peaceful beautiful creamy yellow this is? I love it! I used two coats because the first coat didn't not go on very smooth and had some rough patches, but the second coat filled them in with no problems!

I added a coat of Seche Vite before topping it off with Essence Nail Art Twin Edward (yep he sparkles!). This is a lovely easy to use teal glitter with clear base. The glitter is green/teal squares with small teal glitter and micro holo glitter. Love!

I used Konad Special White for the eggshell of the stamp and Kleancolors Metallic Yellow for the chick! This is a slightly different look than I'm used to but I like it nonetheless! :)

Here is a shot of the Lemon Meringue, two coats and a coat of Seche Vite. Isn't it purdy! This is one of three Models Own polishes that I own and the first that I have used. This one wasn't the best polish I had ever used but not the worst either, just always a two coat to make it even. No big deal at all! At with that color as a result, I'm smitten! :)

So, I've had this Etsy shop for awhile now but I have revamped it and renamed it to Geeky Owl (coincidence? I think not!) Right now it just carries the bookmarks that I make but I hope to add different items to it eventually, hopefully when school is over I can get back to it all! :)

Hope you all have a safe weekend full of fun manis and exciting new polishes! :)

Adventures in Stamping Week 7: 3 Colors

This week for Adventure in Stamping we had to use no less than 3 colors and no more than 3 colors. And I LOVE how mine turned out! The base is OPI Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI (one coat) and a coat of SV. I then used Chez-Delaney H6 plate using Kleancolor Metallic Green and Metallic Aqua. I can't stop staring at my nails! They are gorgeous, if I don't say so myself! ;)

First time my stamping has ever turned out as good or better than planned! Yippee!!! :)

Here is Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI (from the Holland collection) by itself and one coat with Seche Vite. It has a red shimmer to it, but it is hard to capture! You can see if faintly on the nail and a bit on in the bottle. But it is gorgeous in the sun, but my camera couldn't capture it.

A Little Geeky Love

So my Chez-Delaney plates came in and I am so happy!!! They shipped from France super fast too! I bought two plates and I immediately had to play! These plates worked wonderfully! The above picture is all from one plate! D25!

On my pointer finger (top) is Essie Marshmallow (three coats and SV) with Konad Special Black, the stamp is a Dharma symbol from LOST! Woot woot!

My middle finger is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Black Out (two coats ans SV) with Konad Special Red, the stamp is Thundercats!!!!! I wish the red was a bit darker, I'll have to play a bit with it.

Ring finger is Essie Marshmallow (three coats and SV) with Konad Special Red, and the Ghostbusters!!!

And finally on my pinky is Sinful Colors Unicorn (two coats and SV) with Konad Special Black, and Batman!

My other plate that I got was H6, and I got it because of this image! A peacock feather! This is my first attempt and stamping with two colors. I think I did well! :) Base is OPI Skull & Glossbones (two coats and SV) with Kleancolor Metallic Green and Metallic Aqua. Love it!

Here's another shot, trying to get the red of the Thundercats to pop more. This is indoors with artificial light.

All of these are stamped onto polish that has a Seche Vite coat. But there is no top coat over the stamps. Still trying to figure out the best top coat and method for applying over stamps. :)
