The Digit-al Dozen Does Winter Wonderland: A Cozy Holo Gradient!

Hello my Owlets! Sorry for being MIA lately; I've had a few bad months. But doctor visit and some new meds and I hope things are going to be better! It's great to be back!

But guess what! It's a new month so that means a new Digit-al Dozen theme: Winter Wonderland! Today I have a cozy holo gradient with some subtle stamping on an accent nail. Is it super winter wonderland-y? I think so, it's like hot chocolate and pine trees. :)

Here is the gradient without the stamping. I used Color Club Cherubic (two coats) as my base on three of my nails and A England Dragon (two coats) on my accent nail. I then did gradients to add some depth and interest! :) I used Model City Polish Dipping Chocolate on my three nails with A England Saint George on my accent nail.

Aren't these holos amazing! I love them! This is the last mani I created for this week and my favorite! In fact I did both hands! Whoa! I hope it stays for a few days. :)

Ah! Close up! Here's to show both the stamping (Bundle Monster BM607 using Color Club Harp on It) and the flare, rainbow, gorgeousness of all the holo goodness! And of course I used HK Girl Top Coat to seal in the gorgeousness!

What do you think? Trying a few new things like photo size and shape and hand position. Yay? Nay?

The Digit-al Dozen Does The Terrific Twos - Cotton

Today's prompt is Cotton, the traditional 2nd year anniversary gift. I was at a loss of what to create and was thinking of all things cotton and then I thought of Cotton Candy! Hee-hee! I know, I'm really pushing the boundaries of these prompts this week!

This was a really easy mani to create, and it ending up looking perfect! I used OPI Pink-a-Doodle (like 3 coats because it is sheer!) and Different Dimension Dewing it Right to create the gradient. I then added the sugary sparkly crystals of China Glaze Fairy Dust. As much as I liked it glossy, I thought it should be matte so I added Essie Matte About You.

What do you think? Matte or glossy?

Nail-Art-A-Go-Go Challenge Day 3: Warm vs Cool

For the warm vs cool prompt for the challenge I decided to do a gradient. I really love how this turned out.

The colors I used are: Zoya Sooki, Sally Hansen Crushed, Finger Paints Art Nouv-Yellow, China Glaze Def Defying, China Glaze Electric Beat, and China Glaze Gothic Lolita.

I then stamped over it with KleanColor Metallic Jungle and Metallic Pink using MoYou Sailor 03. I topped it off with NYC in a New York Minute Top Coat. But I wanted to see what it looked like matte.

And this was the final version after two coats of NYC Matte Me Crazy and one coat of Orly Matte Top. Didn't go as matte as I wanted but I still like the softening of the gradient, especially on my ring finger.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Red, Gold, and Green: Gradient!

Day 4 of The Digit-al Dozen Does Red, Gold, and Green, and I am busting out a gradient! Look at me, just getting back into the groove of things doing tape manis, waterfalls, and now a gradient! Boo-yah! :) Hahaha!

I really do love a good gradient, they are just gorgeous! For this gradient I used China Glaze Starboard and Zoya Sooki. I then applied on the three fingers Orly Shining Star but it wasn't enough so I added Orly Prisma Gloss Gold. Yep, there's the gold sparkle I was looking for!

For my accent nail I stamped using Barry M Gold Foil Effects and Bundle Monster BM-302. I fished out some glitter from Ho Ho Ho by Glimmer by Erica to accent the holly berries! I topped it off with my good ol' trusty top coat HK Girl.

Untried Polish Challenge: Three Colors

Day 3 of the Untried Polish Challenge and I chose to do a gradient nail accent! See! It's more than just a plain swatch! :)

Here is my mani without a top coat. I used 3 out of the 4 colors in the China Glaze Ombre kit: Wait Teal You See. (the fourth color has already been used, so therefore is not untried!). The three polishes I used were: Turned Up Turquoise, Aquadelic, and White on White.

Can I just say I love the satin finish of Turned Up Turquoise!

I painted two coats of each, with one coat of White on White for my accent nail base color. I then used the sponge in the kit to create the gradient on my accent nail. I am use to using a makeup sponge for this so China Glaze's porous one was interesting, I like the "texture" it creates!

I then added some HK Girl Top Coat! I loved how it turned out. I really loved the shimmer in Turned Up Turquoise!

See! Gorgeous shimmer!

31 Day Challenge 2013 Day 14: Gradient Nails

Welcome to day 14 of 31 Day Challenge 2013 (relaxed version): Gradient Nails. Not going to lie, I was a bit scared of this one. My last year's gradient nail turned into an ombre attempt which failed and turned into a comparison post. But this year I am trying to concur fears and suck it up. Well I put on my big girl panties and was totally thrilled to find how easy a gradient nail is! :) I can't wait to try more and perfect my gradient!

I used OPI Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI (a gorgeous purple with a red/pink shimmer, two coats) and Barry M Silver Foil. The above picture is without a top coat and therefore still looks a bit rough and bumpy. My camera had issues capture this gradient but I love it!

Here it is again with HK Girl top coat. I love how the red/pink shimmer in Dutch 'Ya plays with the silver and makes an almost holo effect! How cool is that! To help with my gradient I followed The Nailasaurus' Gradient Tutorial (easy to follow!). In fact she did a gradient later on using purple and silver! :)
