The Digit-al Dozen Does Skittles Week and 33DC Day 12: Pattern Around your Home

Final day for The Digit-al Dozen Does Skittles Week. Sad, but I got to pair it with 33DC prompt of a pattern around your home. Well, I went with patterns around my home! I love this look! So many patterns! :)

I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as the base and stamped with Konad Black and HK Girl Top Coat. The plates I used were: Konad S6 for the stripes (or mummy wrapping whatever!), Konad M83 for the Damask (probably my most used Konad plate), Vivid Lacquer VL 015 for the Plaid (this is a really big image so I kind of put the image off-centered on my nail), and Konad m63 for the Houndstooth.

Phew I made it through Skittles Week! I really need to practice them more because I'm not sure how skittle-ly they actually were! :) But oh well! It's done! Yippee!! :)

The Digit-al Dozen Does Skittles Week and 33DC Day 11: 3D

Continuing with The Digit-al Dozen's Skittle Week and adding the 33DC 3D prompt I did this. I honestly don't have that many 3D items to use in my nail art. Just rhinestones. And I don't use them that often because they never stay on very long for me! :) But they sure are pretty!

I used OPI Fly, Barry M Foil Effects, Finger Paints Flip Flop Fuchsia, and Nail Savvy Chrome (each two coats). I then added a coat of HK Girl Top Coat and added the stones to the still wet top coat. I then took a brush and painted lines using the same polishes.

Fun and simple, I thought! I hope you like it!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Skittles Week and 33DC Day 10: Flowers!

Welcome to a another week of The Digit-al Dozen! We have a few new faces and a new blog: The Digit-al Dozen! (We've been busy!) But this week our theme is Skittle! And I really struggled this week! So I don't know if mine are actually skittles in the technical manner this week, but I made it and finished! So here we go!

It is also Day 10 of 33DC which is Flowers. So this is my Flower Skittle! Rosebuds (abstractly of course!) (or maybe uniform shirts? hahaha!) I used Essence Cafe Ole as a base (you can only see it at the cuticle). I then used OPI Pink Friday, China Glaze Lemon Fizz, Color Club Mamba, and OPI Funky Dunkey. I used Finger Paints Black Expressionism to line them.

It was really hard to come up with flower skittle, because I didn't want to do stamping the entire week, and I didn't want to dot flowers because I've done that. I wanted to try something new for me. What do you think?

33DC Day 9: Indian

Yes! Finally a win for the challenge for this week! I was inspired by the henna designs used in India. I just love the way this turned out! I really can't stop staring at it!

So there are a few photos, because 1. I really like it, and 2. wanted to make sure I captured it correctly! :) In this photo the lighting is a bit different but I love the detail it showed. I used two coats of Essence Cafe Ole.  I seriously love this nude polish! It's perfect! And there is a slight shimmer. I added one coat of HK Girl Top Coat.

I stamped using Konad Chocolate and MoYou Pro 04. These flowers totally reminded me of the intricate henna designs.

I then used a thin coat of HK Girl Top Coat to seal in the stamp followed by NYC Matte Me Crazy. I love this design matte! It's perfect!

Whoop! Weird angle, but I still love it. Is that enough gushing for you? You know, sometimes the polish and stamping forces combine and align just right, and that doesn't always happen for me. So I need to rejoice in it! :)

And I'm done! Have a wonderful weekend!

33DC Day 8: Chevrons

Seriously, I give up.

I redid this mani like 5 times, 5! And the index finger is still messed up. Oh and guess what? This is more herringbone then chevron. Well, shoot. Why didn't I pay attention to that sooner. 5 times and I didn't catch it?  Grrr!

Well heck, I put that much effort into it, you are still going to get it! :) I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (two coats) for the base of three nails and China Glaze Awaken (two coats) for the accent nail. I stamped using China Glaze Awaken and Konad White using Cheeky CH8.

Lame herringbone. Pfft! The challenge this week so far has gotten the better of me. But oh just wait until Friday! I finally have a win! :)

33DC Day 7: Art featuring Oldest Untried

Well shoot. I read this prompt a bit wrong! I thought it was oldest untried, not art with oldest untried. Well, an indie glitter is art right? I think so! :) The gorgeous Wet n Wild polish is called Rustic and it's from their Craze line. It is just lovely! I've had it for almost 5 years now, bought it for a Halloween costume and never used it. This is two coats.

Macro shot! Just check out this amazing glitter from Glimmer by Erica. It's called Season's Change. It is from last fall, and I love it! This is two coats. Her formulas are always spot on!

Just because I had to show the glitter again! :)

One last full image. I love this combo, very fall, which I am so excited for! I also used HK Girl Top Coat.

33DC Day 6: Texture

Today we have a Texture Prompt and I knew exactly what I wanted to do! I recently got Zoya Tomoko from Ulta because of all the gorgeous pictures I saw! And after three coats Tomoko shimmered a beautiful champagne color! I love it! The formula is fabulous!

Since Tomoko is such a classy/vintage-y color I wanted to stamp something vintage: a cameo! This is from MoYou Pro Plate 04, stamped with Konad Black.

I had a little issue picking up the image for this hand, of course my right hand is stamped perfectly (wearing this mani to my friend's wedding!). And of course, didn't take a picture. I'm not in the habit of photographer my right hand, it's weird! :)

I wanted to seal the stamped image on so I used HK Girl Top Coat. And Zoya Tomoko shimmers even more now! I love it!

33DC Day 5: Mexican

Day 5 of the 33DC and today's prompt is Mexican. I wanted to do some Sugar Skulls that I see everyone else doing but I know that I would mess up. But thankfully I had these decals and polishes from OPI Halloween 2012 So So Skullicious Mini Set! How perfect!

The colors are: Hi Pumpkin!, A-Rose from the Dead, Mourning Glory, and Candlelight. Each of these are two coats and Candlelight was still a bit sheer. Mourning Glory would have been fine with just one coat! I topped them off using NYC In a New York Minute Top Coat. I wanted to try something different, and this wasn't bad! I think I'll try it on a few other manis.

33DC Day 4: Tribal and Born Pretty Store Nail Art Brush Review

Today is the Tribal prompt for the 33DC. And let me tell you I was not excited at all. I have failed in the past. But today I think I did a pretty darn good job! Wanna know my secret?

This Acrylic Nail Paint Drawing Brush Kit from Born Pretty Store! These brushes are pretty amazing. They come in little tubes that reminded me of knitting needles! :) They also have the little plastic tubes that are directly on the brush. But it's nice that if you lose that you still have the bigger tube to keep them protected!

I wanted to review this Acrylic Nail Paint Drawing Brush Kit because it comes with 4 brushes sizes: 0, 00, 000, 0000. The brushes are just the right size for me and they are good quality too. They are better than the ones I have used in the past that I got at another place. I really wanted some smaller detail brushes and none of those really long brushes. And these are perfect for me!

I used the 0 and the 00 to do this tribal design with the help of Nailed It NZ's tutorial. (I needed some inspiration!)

These brushes worked perfectly for me! I think I have my new favorite brush set for my nail art! I want to thank Born Pretty Store for allowing me to review these brushes!

The Polishes I used were: OPI Get in the Expresso Lane, China Glaze Kalahari Kiss, KleanColor Metallic Orange, Milani White on the Spot, and HK Girl Top Coat.

And guess what? Born Pretty Store has created a 10% off coupon code for my readers! Click on the coupon and check it out! They have a lot of amazing items for nail art!

33DC Day 3: Tape Mani

Ah, tape mani, so we meet again. Grrrr! Today's prompt for The Crumpet's Nail Tart's 33DC is tape mani, my nemesis. But thankfully today's worked out well! If I do say so my self.

Shhhh! I reused a mani! This is my watercolor for the art prompt of The Digit-al Dozen Does It Again Art!

So my base is: two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. I then used OPI Fly, China Glaze Budding Romance, China Glaze Make Some Noise, and finally OPI Funky Dunkey. All topped with HK Girl Top Coat. Click the above link if you would like to see the watercolor before the tape mani!

Don't the colors match my blog wonderfully! :)

I then used stripping tape and OPI What Wizardry Is This? I love using textures in tape manis. Less dry time! Just look how the watercolor makes the camera wig out with the focus. The softness of the watercolor and the harsh lines of the tape mani are very interesting!

33DC Day 2: Most Used Polish

Day 2 of The Crumpet's Nail Tarts' presents 33DC. And today's prompt is most used polish. It wasn't until after I had created this mani that I found out it should be a white and should only be one color. Well heck. Oh well, I'm going to break the rules and still use it!

I ended up using three colors here. Kind of hard to tell, I know. But the base is three coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls ( used this as a base for a lot of nail art). I then did some dry brushing using Essence Romeo (also used a lot in nail art) and OPI Skull & Glossbones (great nail base). I topped it off with HK Girl Top Coat.

I think the dry brushing gives it a bit of a grunge look. I like it! What do you think?

Crumpet's Nail Tarts presents 33DC: Day 1: Dots

Welcome to a new challenge, Crumpet's Nail Tarts' 33DC and today's prompt is Dots. I always see these beautiful dotticure and wish I could make mine like that. Well I am right pleased with today's dots!

I used OPI Skull & Glossbones as my base (two coats). I then did random sizes of China Glaze Custom Kicks, China Glaze Snap My Dragon, China Glaze Budding Romance, and Essence Romeo. It kind of had a vintage-like feel to it so I thought making it matte would complete the mani.

First time using NYC Matte Me Crazy and I love it! Look at that finish! And the formula was great!
