TGIF: 31 Day Challenge 2013 Day 25: Galaxies

31 Day Challenge 2013 (relaxed version) Day 25: Galaxies plus it is TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indy Indie Friday! This is one of the days I was excited to re-visit! I love this style! And yes, I managed to use three different Indies! Woot woot!

***Picture heavy!*** I really wanted to show you the process of this, since I hated it for a bit.

I started out with one coat of Cult Nails Time Traveler. A beautiful deep blue.

I used a makeup sponged to sponge on Cult Nails Let Me Fly. This blue is stunning with amazing shimmer! My little nebula is born!

I decided to add some purple and thought that Flormar U06 would be perfect! It's a shimmery duochrome!

Next I sponged some Essence Wall of Fame, a shimmery yellow. It was here that I really started to hate how it was looking. But I still had a few more polishes to add and was curious to see if I could save it. My nebula looks like junk :(

I added Cult Nails Hypnotize Me. A shimmery green top coat. This is my third Indie on this mani! I use this to tone down the brightness of the yellow.

This is a slightly blurry photo to show you how Cult Nails Hypnotize Me just seems to glow! Love it!

I then decided to soften the edges of my nebula by using Flormar U08, another shimmer duochrome! Ugh, still wasn't too thrilled with this at this point.

I then sponged on China Glaze Pixie Dust into my negative spaces to create the tiny stars. I used Milani White on the Spot to make my slightly bigger stars. Ah, that's what it was missing! I liked how this turned out but I still wasn't super satisfied. Something else was needed. What could it be?

Ah yeah! China Glaze Matte Magic to the rescue! I love how this made the mani deeper and richer. Bah! :) You wanna see something cool?

An ever-so-slightly blurry photo to show that the shimmers of all those amazing polishes are still visible through Matte Magic! Oh yeah! Boo-ya! Mysteries of the deep unfold! :)

The Indies I used today were Cult Nails: Time Traveler, Let Me Fly, and Hypnotize Me. These can all be purchased at the Cult Nails Shop here.

Don't forget to check out Emma's TGIF post as well! (I'll make it easy for you, she is also doing the 31 Day Challenge and so is listed in the link thingy below. You are welcome!)

The Digit-al Dozen Does Festiveness: The Three Wise Men

Today's mani is one of my favorites I have ever done. This is not my original idea. I copied this mani from Messy Mansion (click link to be sent to stamping plate site which also shows the photo). I first saw this picture on Facebook and my jaw dropped. I then ordered the plate and knew I had to re-create this for this week! There was just something magical in the way she designed the mani and I knew I had to do this stamp justice!

I began with two coats of Flormar U08. Gorgeous duochrome.

Here's a bit more of the duochrome shown.

I then sponged on Layla Softouch 02 Golden Touch and applied China Glaze Techno for stars.

I then stamped using Konad Black and Messy Mansion MM01. I then applied HK Girl Top Coat. I just love how this turned out. I just wish that the star was a bit bigger. I had to stamp the land and then the star because my nail and gold was too short. But I still love it! It's super shiny and just lovely.

Please check out Messy Mansion at her store or Facebook (Facebook link is to her photo of this and what she used). It is such a great plate! I can't wait to create another mani using this image!

I love the Three Wise Men. Growing up we used to watch the Claymation Christmas Special and "We Three Kings" was always one of our favorites and to this day we still sing this song like this:

Also love this rendition of the song by Straight No Chaser:

Don't forget to check out the other ladies and their festive manis! :)

The Digit-al Dozen Does Blue - Flormar Grunge Tips

This is Day 4 of The Digit-al Dozen Blue Week! Today I decided to do a quick and easy mani. I call this the Grunge French Tip mani. It's super simple and really quite fun! :)

I applied OPI Pink-a-Doodle (what's this? Yep, my new go-to base for any french mani!). I then put some Flormar U08 on a paper plate and then dipped an eye shadow applicator in it and dabbed it onto my nails! The more you dab on the nails without re-wetting it with polish, then thinner and smokier it gets!

Simple huh! I think I'm going to have to try this with other colors and polishes!

I wanted the Flormar U08 to pop more so I am holding OPI Pink-a-Doodle which is the base for this mani. Flormar U08 is a gorgeous duochrome that changes blue to purple. I love it!

What do you think? Is the Grunge French Tip Mani your thing?

(l-r): Catrice Browno Mars (I have been wanting this one!!), Catrice Blue Cara Ciao (such a fun bright summery blue!), and Catrice King of Greens (a stunning green with a shimmer!).

(l-r): Essence Time for Romance (have seen swatches for this and have been lemming it!), Essence Circus Confetti (yes! More jelly sammich glitter!!!!!), and Essence Blue Addicted (this is such a stunning polish!).

Not sure but wow it is gorgeous!) and my second ever Miss Sporty Sparkle Touch Top Coat. This is like the kid sister to the NYC Starry Silver Glitter that I used on Saturday! Clear base with silver, blue, and pink/lilac glitters! Gorgeous!

Macro bottle shot of the Flormars! Aren't they pretty! :)

And last but not least the yummy goodies she sent me! Mmmm! I love Kinder chocolate and it reminds me of my childhood growing up in Canada! Sadly these were a bit smooshy (stupid Arizona heat!) but an hour in the fridge and voila! Mmmmmm! These were yummy! I still have a few Kinders left (trying to slowly eat them) but the other chocolate is all gone! Thank you!

Please go check out Theodora's blog Red Hair and Black Nail Polish. Her pictures are lovely! And she has wonderful nail art and tutorials!

Thank you so much Theodora! I love all my pretties! And the chocolate (now that it has solidified again!) was yummy!
