The Digit-al Dozen Does Re-Creations Week: Grey and Yellow Floral by Pointless Cafe

Day 4 of The Digit-al Dozen Does Re-Creations Week and today I have some actual free-hand nail art! For the win! I feel in love with the original version of this mani because of the colors and the simple yet complex overall idea. Who's mani is it?

Sheila from Pointless Cafe! She is so super creative and artistic in her manis and life. Oh and I totally want her amazing closet! :)

I used China Glaze Concrete Catwalk and acrylic paint for the yellow and black with Poshe Top Coat. Her dots are more nicely random (I can't do random dots, they always end up in rows, and then I fix them and then they are all crowded - nail polish problems). But I do absolutely love my first flower on my middle finger! I love the painterly quality to it! I channeled my inner Sheila for that! My second flower I made it to look like those thin nail art flowers that you can buy to glue on to manis. I wanted a bit of texture so I kept adding paint before it dried fully. I don't know, it was fun that's all! :)

I really love these colors together, really brightens the day! I love having Sheila in the group, she's a real hoot! She's all about the coffee! I love seeing her painting skills come to life on her canvases (nails and real canvases).

Thank you Sheila for your contribution to our DD family!

Don't forget to check out the other amazing ladies!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Nature Week: Flowers

Final day of The Digit-al Dozen Does Nature and I have thrown you all for a curve ball! This doesn't really follow my previous days. No science here. No, I really wanted to do some flowers. And I really really wanted to do some Splash Floral nail art inspired by Emily from The Lacquerologist

http://www.amazon.com/Idiots-Guides-Nail-Emily-Draher/dp/161564699X

I recently bought this amazing book from Amazon that Emily created and I love it! Her photos are amazing, the tutorials easy to follow, and it's just such an awesome book! I highly recommend it!

So one of my favorite styles that Emily creates are her Splash Florals. I have always loved them but had never attempted them. I decided to do it for this theme! I used a stamp for my flowers where she free-hands them with her mad skillz! :)

I used BarryM Chai (possibly my favorite grey!) and BarryM Green Berry as my main colors. My ring finger is an accent with Green Berry as the base and Chai as the splash of color. I stamped using Born Pretty BP-54 and Konad Black. And of course sealed it all with HK Girl Top Coat.

I seriously don't want to take this mani off! It's one of my favorites that I have done in a really long time! Thank you Emily for your awesomeness! :)

Don't forget to check out the other final nature manis!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Patterns on Patterns: Flowers over Dots

Welcome to another month and another week of The Digit-al Dozen!  This month's theme is Patterns on Patterns. There has been a lot of mumbling about what to create. You'd think it would be easy, but it was a bit interesting coming up with ideas. Can't wait to see what everyone does!

I thought I would show you how I created this mani. I use hair glue that I got from Sally's and put it around my nails. This stuff is amazing! It kind of stinks but it dries fairly quickly and comes off super easy! I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as my base. I stamped using BarryM Waikiki, BarryM Chai, and BarryM Cancun to stamp with using Vivid Lacquer VL020.

I then stamped using BarryM Watermelon and MoYou Suki 01. I topped it off with HK Girl Top Coat. I love the way this turned out! Probably one of my favorites! I didn't want to take it off!

I decided to add Essie Matte About You and loved it even more! I think this is one of my most successful double stamping ever! Woot! Truth be told I did look over Katee's blog, A Girl and Her Polish, to know what colors I should stamp first, which would show up best over each other.

Look! Out image for this week is flower over dots too! :)
