Review: JORD Wood Watch

Today I have a slightly different type of review for you today. I was contacted by JORD to review one of their watches. Funny thing is, I was actually looking for a new watch the day before. I said I would love to and went and looked at their site. On their site they have live chat help and I had a fabulous experience with one of their watch specialists named Justine. She was able to help me to decide which color to go with. I wear a lot of black for my job and wanted something that would look really nice and there are many beautiful watches to choose from for both men and women!

This is the beautiful watch that I chose with Justine's help. This is Ely Maple. And it is one of the most beautiful timepieces that I have ever seen!

The watch came in a sturdy box with a cushion. The watch itself is super light! I was really surprised at this! I mean, I knew it wasn't going to be heavy but was not expecting how light it is! And the faceplate is the perfect size for my wrist!

This is more true to life color. I took this with my iPhone. What I love about this watch (among many things) is that the back of the watch isn't metal! That means many people who have allergies to metal watches will love this! The clasp has only a small bit of metal (I still have the blue film on it, I don't want to wreck it!) (the blue film is like the ones you find on stamping plates.)

I was asked if I could create a mani inspired by the watch. I decided to create a winter-like forest by following ChristabellNails' Grey Tree Nails Tutorial. I am really happy with how it turned out. It's perfect for the upcoming season. I love fall and winter. Everything is cool and cozy and not 100+ degrees! It's a perfect gift idea for the holidays!

I've worn this watch every day since I received it and I am always getting compliments! It's such an unusual concept, a wooden watch, but it is gorgeous. And it is very stylish. I've had no issues with the watch, I did have to take out a link on either side to have it fit me properly.

I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as my base. The trees are created with OPI My Pointe Exactly and Misa Grey Matters. I stamped using Konad Grey and Winstonia W115.

Thank you so much JORD for this opportunity to review such a wonderfully crafted timepiece.

TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indie Friday - Candy Lacquer High Tide

Welcome this week's episode of TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indy Indie Friday! Today is all about Candy Lacquer High Tide. A stunningly gorgeous glitter top coat!

This is two coats of Candy Lacquer High Tide over two coats of Misa Grey Matters (with a coat of Seche Vite). High Tide is a clear base with bar, hex and square glitters in shades of blue and green including turquoise, teal, chartreuse and moss. The application of this polish was normal for glitter. The only thing that didn't apply evenly is the bar glitter, which didn't seem to be as dense.

Close up of two coats of Candy Lacquer High Tide (with a coat of Seche Vite). Isn't it gorgeous! I love it! The colors are peacock colors too! :)

I wanted to show you what one coat looked like. Still super duper gorgeous, but you can see how the bar glitter didn't apply evenly. But I am totally alright with that because bar glitter is not my favorite. :)

Bottle shot of Candy Lacquer High Tide can be bought at Candy Lacquer's etsy shop here. Don't forget to check out the facebook page here.

Here is two coats of Misa Grey Matters. This is a lovely grey polish with silvery speckles! I love the color of this polish! But, it did not apply nicely at all. It was thin and watery and flooded cuticles. I've never tried any other Misa so I don't know if it is normal for their polish formulas.

Nail Mail Monday!

It's been awhile since I've had so many packages delivered in one day! I was so happy! :)

First up is my Cult Nails order from her second $5 sale! :) I got all the ones I wanted!

(l-r) Hypnotize Me, Let Me Fly, and Enigmatic. I have swatched these all for my swatchsicles and my favorite is Let Me Fly! It is stunning!

Next up is my order from Diamond Cosmetics. (l-r) Matte Smoke (yep a grey matte!), Chainmail Charm (suppose to be a holo, but isn't a really strong one), Talk of Tokyo, and Concrete Jungle (this is the polish that started the whole order!). Funny thing is that while doing my swatchsicles I have come to see that I really do like greens and greys and this purchase confirms it even more! :)

My quick order from Head2Toe for more clear nail tips for my swatchsicles with my first Misa polish in Grey Matters. This is a silvery shimmery grey!

These were not nail mail but what I picked up from Sallys this weekend! The Finger Paints were clearanced so they were an extra 50% off! $1.62 each for Circus Peanuts and Choco Mint! And then I asked the girl working if they had the new Orly Glam FX line in. They did in the back! She brought them out and I fell in love with Mermaid Tale.

Macro bottle shot of Orly Mermaid Tale. Stunning!!!!
