The Digit-al Dozen Does Fairytales: Who Are You?

Today we take a trip to visit the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland.

And then there's that time he gets mad and asks her "who are you" in the smoke rings.

I used BarryM Sugar Apple as my base (two coats). I thinned out some acrylic paint and made the smoke rings, then stamped using BarryM Pink Punch (AEIOU) and BarryM Blood Orange (?RU) and Nail Ways back to Basics -123ABC plate. I then used Essie Matte About You to give it a more smokier effect.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Brands Week - Disney

So I've had a mani pinned (click on the link to be taken to CutePolish's YouTube video to show how to create the castle) on my Pinterest board for a while and thought I could never recreate it. I was too scared! But I thought I would give it a shot for this week, because I love Disney! And Disneyland is like my home away from home.

Disneyland will always hold a special place in my heart. It is where my parents met, in line for The Matterhorn. For Christmas after my mother died, us kids chipped in and bought a tile dedicated to my parents! My Dad has a small wooden replica of it in his bedroom. These tiles are in between Disneyland and California Adventures. (heart added for privacy.)  :)

I use to live near Disneyland when I was little, I was actually born in Anaheim where it is located. But I remember my Dad telling us that Disneyland was too far away and that's why we couldn't visit a lot. Um, yeah, nope! My brother and I timed it one time when we went back to visit California. An hour. An hour away from Disneyland. Gee, thanks Dad! When we told him that he laughed and said, "but you didn't know that when you were little!".

I started out with Barielle Go Lightly, I believe at 3, maybe 4 coats (very sheer). I then added China Glaze Fairy Dust, because, uh duh! Disney and fairy dust go perfectly together! I used acrylic paint to create the castle and Wet 'N Wild Black Creme for the "D". I topped it off with HK Girl Top Coat.

I really loved how this turned out! I was so surprised at how straight my lines turned out using the really long scary striping brush!

Have you done any nail art that you were scared to do? Did it work out?

Disney Villains Swatches Part 4

Ok, so this is Part 4, and final part, of my swatches for my Disney Villains that I received from Nicole at Epitome of Superficiality. Click the link to see her swatches that she has done! Also check out Lindsey's swatches over at Neverland Nail Blog! These polishes are made by Mayer Cosmetics and seem to be only found in Singapore (that we know of so far!). Click the following links to see Part 1 and Part 2 and Part 3. And now, let Part 4 commence!

Let me introduce you once again to the Old Hag from Snow White but this time it is 32. The color reminds me a bit of her face on the bottle, just not as orange. This is a type of frost (I think). This is one coat. It was kind of goopy to apply but not too bad.

This is two coats and still a tiny bit sheer. It's not a bad brown and probably would pop with some glitter added to it! :)

Look at her in direct sunlight! So very pretty! I think it would just look fabulous with some holo glitter applied over it! :)

Here is the marvelous Ursula 39 from the Little Mermaid! Gorgeous! It is a light silvery-grey shimmery base with some holo glitters! This is one coat.

Here is two coats of her evilness! You can't really see the holo glitter all that much.....here let me help you out!

See the holo glitters! There aren't a ton but there are enough to make it interesting and fun! :) I love this one, holo and shimmer! Yes please. In fact I like it so much that after all the swatching I chose to do a mani with this polish.

First I started out with two coats of OPI Skull & Glossbones. This is such an awesome grey from the Pirates of the Caribbean collection.

Now here is one coat of Ursula 39 over Skull & Glossbones. They are pretty close in color so it was a good base for Ursula.

Isn't it pretty! Look at the bits of holo! This is a fun subtle mani that is appropriate for many events! This doesn't have SV on it but I've added it since and been wearing it for 3 days now and it hasn't chipped yet! Love! :)

Disney Villains Swatches Part 3

Ok, so this is Part 3 of my swatches for my Disney Villains that I received from Nicole at Epitome of Superficiality. Click the link to see her swatches that she has done! Also check out Lindsey's swatches over at Neverland Nail Blog! These polishes are made by Mayer Cosmetics and seem to be only found in Singapore (that we know of so far!). Click the following links to see Part 1 and Part 2. And now, let Part 3 commence!

Here is Maleificent 49 from Sleeping Beauty! She is a shimmery minty green. This is obviously one coat and it is super sheer. Would be kind of fun trying her over other colors! :)

Two coats and still a bit sheer, so perhaps three coats would have been better. But isn't she gorgeous!?

Here she is in full sun! Shiny shiny! I don't think I have another green like her! I'm excited!

Another Maleficent! But this time it is 47 and a stunning purple! Loved this one a lot! The only drawback was that she was a bit thicker. See what looks like tip wear but isn't! I will need to wrap my tips with her. But she is super duper gorgeous! This is one coat.

Two coats and simply stunning! Look at it! I mean really look! She's shimmery and glass flecked! Love! And now for the money shot!

Gah! Have you ever?! Look at that color and shine and shimmer! Look at the pop of color on my pointer finger at the top!!!! A little holo perhaps maybe? I don't know but I love it! Made the picture bigger because she deserves it! :)

Disney Villains Swatches Part 2

Ok, so this is part two of my swatches for my Disney Villains that I received from Nicole at Epitome of Superficiality. Click the link to see her swatches that she has done! Also check out Lindsey's swatches over at Neverland Nail Blog! These polishes are made by Mayer Cosmetics and seem to be only found in Singapore (that we know of so far!). Click the following link to see Part 1. And now, let Part 2 commence!

Meet the Queen of Hearts 54 from Alice and Wonderland! She is the polish that leaked a little (you can see some discolor on her image and on the bottom rim). She is a sparkly, glass flecked, jelly-like pink! Lover-ly! This is one coat, sheer with VNL (visible nail line).

Two coats of goodness! Like I mentioned in my previous post, these polishes going on really nicely! Smooth application without mess!

In direct sunlight to show off her shiny goodness! Look at that! Love the sparkle!!!!!

Here I dipped my fingers in egg yolk! No, it's The Evil Queen 37 from Snow White (non old hag version)! At first I wasn't too sure about this color. It is super duper sheer! (Actually it looks like I colored my nails with a hi-liter!) But think of what it would look like as a jelly sammich!? I'm going to have to play with it some more.

This is two coats. With it being so sheer my nail tips make it look like I did a french mani! Couldn't you just see some silver glitter in there as a sammich!? I'm also wanting to try it with Edward from Essence's Nail Art Twins. I don't have that one yet but soon I will!

Here she is in direct sunlight. I am still a bit iffy about the color, I love it in the bottle but on me.....not too sure. Need to play around with it. Do you ladies have any ideas on what I could do with her to love her more? :)

Disney Villains Swatches Part 1

Ok, so this is part one of my swatches for my Disney Villains that I received from Nicole at Epitome of Superficiality. Click the link to see her swatches that she has done! Also check out Lindsey's swatches over at Neverland Nail Blog! These polishes are made by Mayer Cosmetics and seem to be only found in Singapore (that we know of so far!). This is probably going to be a four part swatch event! Didn't want to flood you with too many pictures, even if they are gorgeous! :)

Like Lindsey mentions her post, this polishes don't have names, so I too will refer to them as their villain and the number on the bottom. Meet the Old Hag 18 from Snow White! This is one coat. It is pretty sheer but a lovely mauve-like color. I'm assuming it is a jelly? I don't have any so I have nothing to compare it to but other pictures.

Here is two coats. Still sort of sheer. You can still see my nail line especially on my ring finger. These polishes went on really nice and smooth. All my pictures are with no clean up!!!! Love! This color reminds me a lot of the colors my mother use to wear! :)

Her is the Old Hag in direct sun. So pretty!

Meet Cruella De Vil 38! Another pink jelly! She is more pink than the Old Hag who had a more purple undertone. At first I thought they were the same color, but they're not! :)

Two coats here. And still sheer! A wonderful polish for making a jelly sammich! I'm excited!

Two coats in direct sun. Gorgeous! A pretty deep pink.

Ok, so I left my thumb with the Old Hag 18 on it and my other four fingers have Cruella De Vil 38. See you can tell the difference! Cruella is definitely more sheer and more pink!
