Untried Polish Challenge: Cheapest AND The Digit-al Dozen Does Tape Manis

Final day of The Digit-al Dozen Does Tape Manis. Phew! I made it! Didn't think I would! ;) I also did the easiest tape mani ever today! That's alright, I love it!

Also today is Untried Polish Challenge: Cheapest. Both of the polish I used are untried but the glitter is the cheapest. It is Hit Polish Nail Lacquer: Like, Gag Me with Glitter! This is my cheapest because I won it! Yep. Hit Polish Nail Lacquer was having a name that polish contest and my name for the polish was chosen! Thank you Hit Polish Lacquer!

This is my base, Joe Fresh Teal. A few Canada trips ago I bought a few Joe Fresh polishes and haven't used them yet. And this one is gorgeous! A shimmer too!

And here is Hit Polish Nail Lacquer: Like, Gag Me with Glitter! It reminded me of the '80s and Valley girls! Hit Polish Nail Lacquer has such amazing polishes! Just look at that glitter! So purdy!

And of course I topped it all off with HK Girl Top Coat! So shiny!

Well, it's Friday so you know what that means. Yep, today was a TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indy Indie Friday!

Please visit Hit Polish Nail Lacquer's Etsy page to drool over some goodies!
Go and like Hit Polish on Facebook to be kept up-to-date!

And don't forget to check out the other ladies and their final tape manis!

Depression Awareness Mani - Peaceful Heart

So today I bring you another Depression Awareness Mani. This one is simple but so is the message. This is Klean Color Peaceful Heart over Joe Fresh Moss.

I chose Peaceful Heart because that is what I wish for everyone who has this disease. I wish a peaceful heart, a sense of peace knowing that what you are going through will end. Or as I like to use, there is a light at the top of your deep dark well. This is but a small moment even though it may seem like forever.

I promise you, things will get better. Maybe not right away, but it will. And you have a lot of support through many of us in the nail community and from those around you.

Teal Tuesdays - CopyCat Mani

So this week we decided to make our tealicures a recreation of someone else's mani. I had a bit of a time trying to come up with some ideas, because this week has been kind of a crazy one (I've been spending as much time as I can with my new nephew) so I did my mani and it turned out alright in person but in photos it didn't end up like I wanted it to. But I still do like the main aspect of the mani. So I thought I would still use it!

This is suppose to be a straw splatter mani. Hahahahaha! The straws were not working for me today. And have you ever tried doing a straw splatter mani using teal! Big big mistake! Stains everywhere!!! Hahahaha!
I could use this as a when manis go horribly wrong! Haha! :) Can you tell I don't take my self so seriously! Every once in awhile we are allowed a less than perfect mani, right? ;)

So I used p2 Groovy as my base and "splattered" using KleanColor Metallic Aqua, Essence Bella, China Glaze Atlantis, and Joe Fresh Teal (he is the culprit to covering the other polishes!). I used OPI Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees Suede for my Tokidoki symbol.

Here are the polishes I used: OPI Suzy Skis in the Pyrenees Suede, Joe Fresh Teal, China Glaze Atlantis, Essence Bella, KleanColor Metallic Aqua, and p2 Groovy.

So my mani wasn't perfect but it was still fun and it was fun to create. I was also glad to learn a new trick creating the Tokidoki symbol. And I do love my Tokidoki symbol that I recreated! Have you guessed who's mani I chose?

Gnarly Gnails Tokidoki Tutorial! I love how her's turned out! And I love the Tokidoki symbol! :)

Here is a what p2 Groovy looked like before it got covered up (especially by Joe Fresh Teal!)

Teal Tuesdays was started because teal is unloved and needed its own day of celebration!
Teal is a medium to dark bluish green color of low saturation; a dark cyan.
Open to interpretation, anything green with a hint of blue or blue with a hint of green is welcome here!

LOSTathon: Season 1

Where were you on September 22, 2004? Me? I was sitting in front of the TV excited for the new JJ Abrams show to start. Who knew it would be such a worldwide phenomenon! From the moment it began with it's soon to be trademark title screen then an opening shot of an eye then to the cries and screams of Shannon and the eerie sound of the plane's engine, you were sucked into the drama that was...is one of the most talked about shows. What show am I describing? Well, LOST of course!

Welcome to the 6 day blog event with 6 other ladies and 6 manicures that make up LOSTathon! I'm sure there's some hidden message in the symbolism of the numbers ;)

So begins Day 1 of the LOSTicures (LOST manicures). Day 1 = Season 1.

Here is my representation of season 1 of LOST:

Thumb: represents Oceanic flight 815, this is the fated flight call number of the plane that crashed onto the mysterious island.
Pointer: is the mysterious hatch that Locke and Boone found. The yellow light represents the light coming from the hatch and the end of season 1.
Middle: represents the island itself.
Ring: It's a turnip, because one of my favorite things in this season was Charlie calling Claire's baby Aaron, turniphead because Aaron's head was the shape of a turnip!
Pinkie: represents smoke for the mysterious smoke monster that plagues the crash victims of flight 815.

Here are the technicals for the mani:

Thumb: Color Club French Tip, Ulta Blue For You, Essence Let's Get Lost, and Essie First Date.
Pointer: Joe Fresh Moss, China Glaze Concrete Catwalk, and Finger Paints Art Nouv-Yellow.
Middle: Essie Borrowed & Blue, Sally Hansen Deep Blue Sea, China Glaze Trendsetter, Essence The Dawn is Broken (over Trendsetter), Sally Hansen Coco A-Go-Go, Kleancolors Metallic Green, and Salon Express plate SE18.
Ring: OPI Wooden Shoe Like to Know?, OPI Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh?, OPI Planks A Lot, and Joe Fresh Moss.
Pinkie: China Glaze Smoke and Ashes.

What did I love about this season?
-I loved that one of the pilots was a staple JJ Abrams actor: Greg Grunberg.
-I loved the scene of Charlie and Claire "eating" peanut butter.
-I loved the mystery and the what the crap just happenedness of the whole concept of this show (dude? a polar bear?).

What did I hate about this season?
-Rousseau, she's crazy!
-Ethan for hurting Charlie (and I can't say the name Charlie without hearing Claire say it!)
-That nothing was ever solved (this might be a common thing about this show), it was a wrinkle show. This means that when I watch the show my forehead wrinkles and I go huh? Such an interesting concept for a show, with you flashbacks (soon to be flash forwards and even flash sidways!)

Locke belongs in neither category. For as much as I love Locke (and his orange peel smile) there were just some moments in this season (and all seasons) that I wanted to punch him! :)

The season made me wanting more from this show and I was excited for season 2! As I hope you are too! Tune in tomorrow for the next season!
