The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents: Geomoetric - Dotticure

Day 2 of The Nail Challenge Collaborative's theme of Geometric and I bring you dots around dots around dots! Or, a dotticure.

Please excuse the nubbins (this is a slightly older photo from earlier in the month). Sometimes it's really hard to wrap the tips of nubbins. Grrrr! :) So um yeah, since this is an older photo I *think* I have Essence Romeo on under Essence Bella. Otherwise I don't know why I'm holding this bottle of Romeo!? >_<

I used Essence Bella as my base. The dots are Butter London: Cream Tea (white er cream), Jaded Jack (darker green), and Wellies (light green). I sealed it with Poshe Top Coat and called it a day. They actually lasted quite a long time. The only good thing about nubs, no real free edge to chip -- though you can really damage a mani try to use your nails nubs to open things!

Don't forget to check out the other Day 2 posts:

Secret Snowflake Swap!

I'm back! And I didn't lose any photos! So happy! Ok, so today's post is my Secret Snowflake Swap that I got this month. I am part of a swap group and this is out Winter/Holiday themed swap! Nikki gave to me! So the above photo is an overview of the extras I got. A Tardis phone charm, River Song's Journal, Fuzzy socks (wore them on Christmas Day!), Mustache Ice Cube Tray!, and 3 adorable little makeup bags (which were filled with more goodies!).

Can't forget about the candy! Yummy! Most of this is gone now! :)

Here are some of the polishes: OPI Berlin There Done That, OPI French Quarter for Your Thoughts, and Nubar Reclaim! Woot woot! Love all of them!

More polish! Butter London Dosh, Dollish Polish Hylian Princess and The Hero of Time (these are the Zelda Duo)! So many lemmings crossed off my list!

Essence Peel Off Base Coat. I really wanted it to compare with Elmers glue! :)

Nailz Craze plate NC 01! Butterfly, peacock, and dandelion! What's not to love!

Mustache stickers! Too cute! Striping tape!

How adorable is this necklace? Owls and keys? Love both!

More owls! Love this! Wearing this bracelet right now as I am typing this! :)

Ok, now here is the funny part. I was wearing my Tardis shirt when I received this package and got all the Doctor Who stuff! So of course I had to take a photo of that! :)

Thank you Nikki I love it all! :)

Guest Post by The Crumpet

Good Morning Owlets!

Today's guest post is from someone I mention a lot, Debbie from The Crumpet! Love her style of writing and her attitude, and of course her absolute obsession with polish! ;)

And I have scheduled this post today, it being friday, and she chose an Indie! So here is her version of TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indie Friday! :)

Thank you so much Debbie! :)

Don't forget to check out her blog after reading this post!

Hi Goddesses

It's Debbie from The Crumpet, and I am thrilled to be doing a guest post for one of my best polish friends.

I've only known Kirsten for a few months, but we connected over a love of polish, Lost and nail art.   We both suffer from depression, and we've both written of it on the blog, so we try to look after each other on our down days.   I thought it would be appropriate to do a green mani, as green is the colour for depression awareness, but a happy green, not a murky, sad, gloomy green!

The base is one of my favourite green and one of my favourite polish names - Bossy Boots from Butter London.   It's a lovely soothing creamy mint.   I then layered it with Nostalgic Lacquer Envy - a sort of green version of Connect The Dots.

Don't they look awesome together ?    I love how the glitter complements the base, yet stands out from the base.   I'm a known hater of hairy glitter, but even I don't mind the bar glitter in this one.

This is cool and fresh as a summer's day .... not that I'd know, living in England.

Enjoy xx :)

The One with Butter London Wallis

Ok ok! I believe! Uh wow! Butter London polishes are amazing! The application...the formula....wow! I am a true believer now! This is Wallis (two coats). A beautiful golden olive that is just stunning!

Sorry for the fuzzy picture, but here is Wallis in a bit of shade. I was really impressed with the application of this polish. Went one so smoothly and not streaky!

One this I didn't like. The lid. Don't get me wrong, I love it now but at first I was like, huh, that's going to be a pain to paint with.

Lift to open? More like pull really hard to open, but don't worry and freak out like you are going to spill you polish because.................

Ta-daa! Yep a more manageable lid is underneath! Whew! So much easier to paint with that a huge lid! :)

And look, a cute little decal on the hidden lid! :)

Here is two coats of Wallis, in the shade, with one coat of Seche Vite! I am totally loving this polish! Can I get an "I Believe!" :)

Swap Group: April Swap!

This awesome package came from Yvonne in my swap group. I literally oohed and ahhed when I opened them! :) Well, wouldn't you? I mean look at all the pretties!

First up (l-r): Barielle U-Concrete-Me, Ginger+Liz Ivy League, Butter London Rosie Lee, and Essie Da Bush. The last two are off my wishlist and I am super excited! The Ginger+Liz brand is a new brand for me and it looks gorgeous! I'm not really familiar with them and I looked them up and they are vegan! How cool is that!? The Barielle one is a gorgeous grey creme! Yes! Another grey! I'm so happy! :) When I read the name I laughed because I assume it is a take on the Jerry Maguire "You complete me" but I soo read it as Ralph from The Simpsons reading the valentine card from Lisa: "You choo choo choose me?" hahahaha! Love it! Ah Simpsons, so many life truths!

Next up (l-r): Finger Paints Haute Taupe, KleanColors Peaceful Heart, Franken Grey Grape, and Lacquistry No Name. I'm excited for the Finger Paints one because I don't have many lighter browns and I really do need lighter browns! :) The Kleancolor one is totally awesome! Here, let me show you:

Macro bottle shot of KleanColor Peaceful Heart:

Wowza! A clear base with green holo glitter and glitter hearts! I love it! If you don't count hexes as shapes, then I believe this is my first shape glitter! Super excited!

Macro bottle shot of Franken Grey Grape:

You can kinda see the sparkly goodness at the top of the label. Flecks that flash purple in a grey/purple base! I'm really excited for it! This was made by Yvonne! And she told me it might actually smell like grape too still! Super excited! I opened it and there is a kind of grapey smell to it! :)

Macro bottle shot of Lacquistry No Name:

Holy awesomeness! Look at that! A crapload, an awesome amount of micro blue glitter with blue/silvery hex glitter! Can't tell yet if it is a clear base or a bit of a blue base. But I am loving this! I haven't tried Lacquistry yet and I am super excited!

Thank you so much Yvonne! I love them all!

Fancy Haul!

So I have finally joined the ranks of the fancy polish collector! :) I bought Butter London Wallis and Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance on sale! Woot! They were only about $8 each! I couldn't pass it up! I'm so excited to try them and see what everyone is talking about with their formula and application. I will definitely be doing a big ol' fancy post about them! :)

So, the other day I was headed to a party up in the area where my beauty supply store is so I thought I would go a bit early and hit it up! Well, it was closed for the night! :( So I drove across the street to try a different store. It was much smaller with less product but I found one of my lemmings for $4! Yep, that is China Glaze Atlantis there on the left! I'm super excited! The OPI isn't an older one but it caught my eye with it's shimmer. It is OPI It's My Year. Super gorgeous!

Want to see some macros bottle shots of these two polishes? Duh! Of course you do! Here you go!

Here is the awesomeness of China Glaze Atlantis. Oooooh! Ahhhhh! Shiny! Love!

OPI It's My Year. Look at that shimmer gold shimmer over the purple! Gorgeous! I'm excited to see this one in action! :)
