The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents Recreate Your First Four Nail Designs: Green

Fourth and final day of The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents Recreate Your First Four Nail Designs! And today I give you Green as I am still following my 2012 version of the 31 Day Challenge.

I started out with one coat of Catrice King of Greens (got to love Catrice and their amazing formulas!). I did two coats of Rainbow Polish Yo-Duh. So pretty and so shimmery! I love it! But I was curious.......

Wow! Adding Essie Matte About You makes the Catrice polish look like those OPI Suedes! For the Win! I love love love this! Ready for the 2012 31 Day Challenge Green Nails?

Focus! Who knew my camera was so bad? But still do love this mani, so pretty and green! :)

Phew! I made it! Finished the theme with barely enough time! Next month I hope to be better!

Don't forget to see what the others recreated for their day 4 posts!

These Aren't the Droids You're Looking For - A Twinsie Post with Fixin to Faff!

How epic is that image! Thanks to Ali over at Fixin to Faff for the image! And the plate!

Today is officially Star Wars day! May the 4th be with you! (Get it? Oh I hope you do!). Ali and I decided to do a twinsie post both using our MoYou Sci-fi 02 plate. You so totally need to check hers out! Um, it's a-mazing! I'm not even worthy to twinsie with her!

So here is my twin mani! We decided to use the ever-so famous line: "These aren't the droids you are looking for" as our prompt. I think it's really funny that our manis are very similar! (in fact we used some of the same polishes!)

I started out with OPI Glitter Off as my base. I then used two coats of OPI My Vampire is Buff to give the background a desert/Tatooine-like feel. (Funny, we both did that!) I then used a q-tip and dabbed Milani White on The Spot to each nail tip. I then used some of my Rainbow Polish Star Set Polishes: Artoo (Blue one) and See 3P Ohhh (Gold one). I stamped using Barry M Foil Effects in Silver. Top coated it with HK Girl Top Coat and then Essie Matte About You.

I had really great ideas for this, but I ran out of time. I wish I had used a darker background (or thought to make decals like Ali!). But it kind of goes along with my title: "These aren't the droids you are looking for" they are a bit faded from your image. You can't really see them. The force is strong with me and I am able to reach through the internet and alter your mind! :)

Have to show you my thumb! Isn't he cute! I love this plate a ton! It's so unique and amazing!

Here is what the mani looked like before I added the matte top coat.

Which did you like better? Shiny or matte?

Don't forget to go and check out Ali's post over at Fixin to Faff! And May the 4th be with you!

Here are some awesome Star Wars videos!

ABC: C is for KleanColor Coffee Addict and Rainbow Polish Chewie

C is for cookie that's good enough for me. Oh um, wait nope, not what C stands for today. But now that's in you head right? Today's polishes totally made my camera go crazy and not focus properly.

I started out with one coat of KleanColor Coffee Addict. Gorgeous color and lovely formula! I then did one thicker coat of Rainbow Polish Chewie. This polish is from the Star Set 2 and is inspired by Chewbacca, everyone's favorite Wookie!
Also used HK Girl Top Coat!

A quick swatch to show you Chewie on a white background. I love this polish! And Rainbow Polish's formula is always perfect!

Untried Polish Challenge: Oldest

Untried Polish Challenge prompt for today is oldest...........crap! I have so many that are older that I haven't used! Double crap! How to narrow it down! Grrr! Well, off to my handy dandy massive Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Collection I go! When I first started getting into polish I was buying this pretty puppies up every time I went to the store! I have so many!

And you know what? I forgot how nice they are to use! I thank Emma of Manicurity in reminding me of the beauty that is Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet. This is two coats, though I could have just used one and been fine.

I then added Rainbow Polish Taffy, one of the older Indies that I have and haven't used! (See what I did there?) This glitter is sweet goodness (again, see what I did there?) Hahaha!

Here is a macro shot of Rainbow Polish Taffy over Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet. Please excuse the bubbles in my top coat. It was a hot day and I had my fan on when I applied HK Girl Top Coat. Totally my fault! But either way I love how the glitter is suspended in the top coat! :)

Indie Month Day 12 and The Digit-al Dozen Does Geek - Star Wars

Day two of The Digit-al Dozen Does Geek! (also still continuing my Indie Month!) Today is Star Wars! Woot! Had to do these because in my house Star Wars is pretty dang popular.

I started out with two coats of Diamond Cosmetics Concrete Jungle. I then applied three coats of Rainbow Polish Sky Walker on my index finger. These is from Rainbow Polish's Star Set 2. And it is lovely! No fishing for glitter either!

Here is what Rainbow Polish says about Sky Walker:
This Luke Skywalker inspired polish named Sky Walker starts with a slightly milky blue base containing small blue glitters, blue"lightsaber" glitter bars, white square glitters and small blue dust glitter.

Little fact that Lukes lightsaber was changed from blue to green after he lost it and built his own. In the duel with Darth Vader it is blue. Pair with Dark Side and your fingers can duel :-)
And that is exactly what I did! They are dueling with two lightsabers! With light sparks flying off. I used Essence Let's Get Lost for Luke's lightsaber and Zoya Sooki for Darth Vader's. With Wet N Wild Black Creme for the handle and Catrice King of Greens and Zoya Sooki for the buttons.

On my pinkie is three coats of Rainbow Polish Dark Side. This is from Star Set 1.

This Darth Vader inspired polish named Dark Side is a black jelly transparent base packed with various sizes of dark side black hex and square glitters and red "lightsaber" glitter bars and small holographic glitters.
I love this both these sets of polishes and if you are a Star Wars fan I recommend you getting them! They are fabulous!

Thought I would show you Diamond Cosmetics Concrete Jungle (two coats). Super pretty and great application!

TGIF: The Digit-al Dozen Does Art: 31 Day Challenge 2013! Day 11: Rainbow Nails

Oh my goodness! I had no idea how I was going to combine all my themes for today! TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indy Indie Friday; The Digit-al Dozen Does Art, and 31 Day Challenge 2013 (relaxed version). So I decided to focus on the Indie polishes themselves since they are a work of art! :) See, see what I did there? Wink wink! ;)

As I was reading a book: How To Be An Explorer of the World: Portable Art Life Museum by Keri Smith, I came across this:
"The Indo-European root of the word 'art' is 'to arrange; or 'fit together' (join). In this light, art can be pared down to its most simplistic form. We begin by collecting, then playing the the materials or objects, organizing them in a variety of ways, making new combinations, trying new things, then observing the arrangements we have made". (Keri Smith, 15)
Bah! Oh my goodness! Does that not describe us all to a "T"? We collect our tens, hundreds, or thousands of bottles of polish. Oh, we definitely play with them and organize them (by color or by brand?) New combos? Why duh! Of course! Trying new things? Yep, daily almost especially with all the nail art challenges. And oh how we "observe the arrangements we have made".....BLOGS! This is why I chose Indies for my art piece today. :)

Oh and there are a lot of photos here...just to warn you! :) Oh and these are each two coats!

First up in the rainbow is red: Elemental Styles Iron Man-ia. This is a gorgeous red jelly with red and gold glitters! Sadly she doesn't carry this polish any more and is just trying to sell her last polishes :( But she still does have some pretties available! Go visit her Elemental Styles Etsy Page

Next color in the rainbow is orange: Glimmer by Erica's Spicy Pumpkin. This is from her fall line and is a clear based glitter with orange, brown, garnet, and red glitters. I love her glitters! So many fun unique combos! Visit her Glimmer by Erica Etsy Page

Next up is yellow: NerdLacquer Gorramit. This is from her Serenity Trio. Wowza are her polishes amazing! Sadly she's been away for a while but has announced plans on returning! Polish crazed ladies rejoice! :)

How about green: Once Upon a Polish The Beanstalk. Sadly another amazing Indie polish maker who has stopped making polishes. I loved her concept and glitters! This is a green glitter in a clear base.

Here's blue: Rainbow Polish Sky Walker. From her Star Set 2 (inspired by Star Wars!) Epic geeky win! This is a "slightly milky blue base containing small blue glitters, blue"lightsaber" glitter bars, white square glitters and small blue dust glitter". Visit her Rainbow Polish Etsy Shop (and this polish is still there!)

On to indigo: A England Tristam is the closest I could get. And it is stunning! Though they are a bit more big-leagued, A England is still and Indie! Visit her shop A England.

And last but not least purple: Dollish Polish Hylian Princess. From her Zelda Duo (another epic geeky win!) This was a huge lemming of mine finally squashed! It is purple, white, and gold glitters in a clear base. Visit her Dollish Polish shop

Big ol' lineup! :)

Backside lineup!

Now, did I cheat a bit for today? Nah, I don't think so! So many talented women create gorgeous works of art for our fingers! We must praise them! And of course give them our money! :)

New Years Eve Mani!

Let's ring in the new year in style! :) While using Rainbow Polish See 3P Ohhh for my TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indy Indie Friday I thought that would make a great new year's eve mani! And so that's what I did! :)

Here I have Color Club Disco Disco Nap (two coats) and Finger Paints Black Expressionism (two coats). I layered one coat of Rainbow Polish See 3P Ohhh.

Such a fun blingy mani! And though it looks as though some of the glitter is curved I didn't noticed it on my nail. I am wondering if it's more of a lighting issue? But after a coat of HK Girl I didn't feel it either. (This photo does not have HK Girl).

Do you have any new year resolutions? Me? I'm still thinking on some. :)

I wish everyone a Happy New Year! May it be safe and just the way you like it! :)

TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indie Friday - Rainbow Polish See 3P Ohhh

Here is another awesome polish for TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indy Indie Friday! Today we have Rainbow Polish See 3P Ohhh. This gorgeous gold is hard to capture fully on camera, my camera kept wiggin' out! :) I love Geek inspired polishes! We need more! :)

As always: (l-r) 4 coats, 3 coats, 2 coats, and 1 coat. "This C3PO inspired polish starts with a slightly milky white base and a gold glitter dust is added along with small gold holographic glitter and larger gold squares and more". To me I see more of a golden base but that's alright because I love it and I don't really like gold! :)

Here it is over some colors, one coat of See 3P Ohh! (l-r) Essence Romeo, Zoya Sooki, China Glaze Custom Kicks, and China Glaze Trendsetter. Love it over all of them. Custom Kicks looks very Jasmine from Aladdin! :)

I had no issues with this polish. Applied lovely and evenly for me! Such a gorgeous topcoat and is even better in person because it doesn't like my camera :(

Rainbow Polish can be found and bought on her etsy page
Rainbow Polish also has a big cartel store here
Don't forget to check out her facebook page here.
