ABC: H is for Orly High on Hope and Essence Hello Holo

ABC challenge and today is H. I recently got Orly High on Hope at Sally's on clearance and it is gorgeous! This is two coats and it was easy to apply! I love the pink shimmer it has! Just stunning! I wanted to add something to make this mani pop so I used three coats of Essence Hello Holo. All topped with HK Girl Top Coat.

Aren't they both just lovely! I really liked this mani a lot. Simple, but classy and made a statement!

ABC: G is for Golden Green (times 2) and Geeky Owl

Like a month ago I stopped with my ABC posts, well, here is G! Today is a comparison post. I have two polishes both named Golden Green. One is by CQ and the other is by Models Own. Let's take a look. Above you see both polishes at one coat each. CQ Golden Green is on my index and ring fingers. Models Own Golden Green is on my middle and pinky fingers.

Models Own Golden Green is a but more opaque and brighter than the CQ Golden Green. But the Models Own gave me a bit more of an issue while applying it, a bit gunky in places.

Two coats each of CQ Golden Green (index and ring fingers) and Models Own Golden Green (middle and pinky fingers). Pretty dang close! Which is fab because CQ Golden Green is easier to get here in the US because it's at Rite Aid. :)

One thing I did notice was that Models Own Golden Green which is on the nail on the bottom is brighter and more green with yellow. The CQ (nail on top) definitely has more golden olive hues in it. But since I really like this color, I'm glad I have both! (um, plus a few more that probably look like these!)

And here we have the debut of my other custom polish created by the wonderful Kevan of Dragon Lacquer. This glitter is called Geeky Owl. And I love it! A lot! It's varying sizes and shapes of grey glitter! What!? Grey?! Yep! I'm stoked! Thank you so much Kevan!

Macro shot of Geeky Owl by Dragon Lacquer to show you it's not bubbles but tiny glitters! Isn't it purdy! :)

I also used HK Girl Top Coat on this mani.

I'm so glad a stepped up and ask for custom made polishes. I was a little scared at first to approach and then worried I wasn't going to like them. But Kevan was wonderful to work with and I love the final product! Thanks again!

ABC: F is Orly Fowl Play, KleanColor Fashionista, and China Glaze Fairy Dust and a FAIL!

Today is brought to you by the letter F: Orly Fowl Play, KleanColor Fashionista, and China Glaze Fairy Dust. F is also for FAIL! Hahahaha! I attempted a saran wrap mani........totally chose the wrong colors! I used China Glaze Fairy Dust to help camouflage it! :)

Started with Orly Fowl Play. So pretty! Look at all those flakies! Looks like a melted grape popsicle on my fingers! This is where I should have ended the mani. Nope, I was feeling like trying something new. Bah!

Here you can sort of see the saran wrap mani effect. I should have chosen better colors. As much as I love KleanColor Fashionista (love baby poop greens!) it doesn't look nice on your fingers and cuticles when it doesn't come straight off with acetone cleanup! Hahahaha! I was able to get most of it off but for a while....ew! :)

I really do want to try this technique again, but I will try to have at least one bright color. I think that is why this failed, they were too dark. Put that one into the book to remember what not to do! :)

ABC: E is for Catrice The Effect Maker

Catrice The Effect Maker is one of my newest pretties (8 Catrices total!) that I got by way of Jewli from Fanning the Fumes! Thank you Jewli! I love having polish friends across the great big pond! :)

Just check out that pink shimmer in this nude! I love it! In real life the whole polish color is a bit more pink toned. This is three coats because it is a bit sheer. I also used HK Girl Top Coat.

ABC: D is for Diamond Cosmetics Chainmail Charm

Ok, so the D for today's post comes from the company name: Diamond Cosmetics. The polish name is Chainmail Charm. This is a lovely charcoal holo. Looks more sparkly in the photos, but there is some holo in real life! Just not as much as I had hoped for.

In this slightly blurry photo you can see some holo on my index finger. See it? I promise it's there! Either way the polish is really pretty in real life and the formula is fabulous! :)

ABC: C is for KleanColor Coffee Addict and Rainbow Polish Chewie

C is for cookie that's good enough for me. Oh um, wait nope, not what C stands for today. But now that's in you head right? Today's polishes totally made my camera go crazy and not focus properly.

I started out with one coat of KleanColor Coffee Addict. Gorgeous color and lovely formula! I then did one thicker coat of Rainbow Polish Chewie. This polish is from the Star Set 2 and is inspired by Chewbacca, everyone's favorite Wookie!
Also used HK Girl Top Coat!

A quick swatch to show you Chewie on a white background. I love this polish! And Rainbow Polish's formula is always perfect!

Another TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indy Indie Friday moment! Don't forget to check out Emma over at Manicurity and her TGIF post!

ABC: B is for OPI Berlin There Done That and Essence Break Through

What's this? Another tape mani so soon after The Digit-al Dozen Does Tape Manis? Yep, I was in the groove with doing them and found it isn't so scary......as long as I stay away from the smaller intricate designs! :)

For the letter B I chose two different B named polishes added to more onto my tired list! This is two coats of OPI Berlin There Done That and one thicker coat of Essence Break Through.

I used one of my thicker chevron nail stickers to create the design. I also had the help of HK Girl Top Coat. And I must say that I really loved this design. Very simple but with a graphic quality!

ABC: A is for Essie Armed & Ready and Hit Polish Nail Laquer Antique Rose

Today starts my ABC Challenge! Another way for me to go through my untrieds (and to try and not buy a polish for Q, Y, or X!). I have always liked reading this type of post so I thought I would try it too! :)

I started out with two coats of Essie Armed & Ready. I love this color, kind of a green grey with golden shimmer! Gorgeous! And the formula is nice too! I've had this polish for awhile, it's nice to use it! :)

I then did a simple accent nails using one thicker coat of Hit Polish Nail Lacquer Antique Rose. Such a gorgeous glitter! And perfect formula (like always!). I did noticed that there is another Antique Rose formula in her shop with round glitter!
In this macro you can really see the shimmer of Essie Armed & Ready.

Same photo as the first, thought I would show it to you again. I love this combo!
