40 Great Nail Art Ideas: Halloween

"I got you where I want you, and now I'm going to eat you!"

Welcome to another installment of 40 Great Nail Art Ideas! Today's prompt is Halloween. I wanted to do something easy but that I hadn't seen before. Well, I think this worked. ;)

It's based on a scary story/joke I heard often as a kid:

I'm Gonna Eat You

(click title to go to source)
There were these 3 guys. They had to find a place to stay so they went to a hotel.
The first guy went up to the counter and asked the clerk if he had any rooms for the night. The clerk said we only have one room and its the attic. I'll give you a gun, a knife, or a flash light. The first guy said,"I'll take the gun." The clerk said ok and gave him the key to the attic.
The guy went up to the attic, and he heard a voice, "I've go you wher I want you now. I'm gonna eat you!" The guy got so scared that he shot himself.
The second guy went up to the clerk and said, "Do you have any rooms for the night?" The clerk said, "I only have the attic and I can give you a knife or a flashlight." The man said, "I'll take he knife." The clerk gave him the knife and the key to the attic. The man walked up to the attic, and heard a voice, "I've go you wher I want you now. I'm gonna eat you!" The man got so scared that he stabbed himself.
The third guy went to the clrk and asked if there were any rooms. The clerk said only the attic. The clerk gave the guy a flashlight. The man went up to the attic and heard a voice, "I've go you wher I want you now. I'm gonna eat you!" The man turned the flashlight on and opened the closet door and saw this little boy sitting there picking his nose, eating his boogers, and saying, "I've got you where I want you now. I'm gonna eat you!"

Muwahahahahahaha! Yep, I really did create a booger for my blog! And by create I don't mean by my body, because I promise you it's totally fake!

See! Just a little bit of hair glue, some Color Club Tribe and True, BarryM Paprika, BarryM Cotton, and Poshe Top Coat.

Voila! Booger!

Enjoy!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative: Stripes - Monster Line Dance

Final day of The Nail Challenge Collaborative's theme of stripes, and I give you a monster line dance! :) Look at those monsters (MoYou Sci-Fi 01) dancing up a storm on their colorful dance floor!

I used BarryM Espresso as my base, two coats. This is an amazing black matte! I stamped using BarryM: Waikiki (index monster), Miami (middle monster), Cancun (ring monster), and Copa Cabana (pinkie monster). The french tip (or my stripe for this challenge, see, see what I did there?) Are those same colors but one to their right.

So that means I have to show you my thumb! Stamped using BarryM Malibu with a stripe of Copa Cabana. He's like an owl/duck monster!

The BarryM Mattes are amazing to stamp with! Their formulas are fantabulous!

Oh and what are the monsters line dancing to?

Monster Mash, of course! :) Happy Halloween! Please be safe!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents: Stripes - Owl Stripes

Day 3 of The Nail Challenge Collaborative's theme of stripes and combining it with the Digit-al Dozen's Spooky Days.

Not sure exactly what I was going for here! Hahahaha! But look! It's got stripes and an owl....what could go wrong? Oh, how about stamping stripes on all the other nails. Nu-uh, nope. So I had to free-hand the other stripes.

I used BarryM Mango as my base. I stamped on my ring finger using BarryM Plum and MoYou Pro 04. On my other nails I used BarryM Plum to create stripes (yep, that is the same color used to stamp!) and Konad Black with MoYou Pro 04 for the scroll-work. Topped it off with Poshe Top Coat.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents: Stripes - This is Halloween!

Welcome to another Nail Challenge Collaborative theme! This month it is stripes! I've decided to try and pair it with The Digit-al Dozen's Spooky Days!

Today I went for simple and easy and not spooky at all! How could Jack Skeleton be scary? Nope, not at all. I used Barry M Plum as a base as well as OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. I stamped using Konad White and Cheeky CH10 (stripes). I used my cleanup brush with some acetone on it to sort of distress the white lines. Didn't want them too clean looking! I used a Jack decal I got from RLR Creations. Her decals are my favorite! I sealed everything with HK Girl Top Coat.

The Digit-al Dozen Does It Again: Halloween

Day 2 of The Digit-al Dozen Does It Again! And today is Halloween. I knew what I wanted to do right away. I have these awesome decals from RLR Creations Nail Art, and who doesn't like Jack Skellington right? And these decals apply so easy and wonderful!

I started with two coats of Milani Black Swift and two coats of Milani White on the Spot. I then attempted that waterfall design by Nailasaurus (hers is sooo better), bahahahahaha! My waterfall was a bust (will try it again another time) but I am loving how this all turned out. :)

I wanted it to look like Jack's stripes but I liked how it ended up. I then dry brushed the extra little white lines to add a more sketch-y like quality to the mani. I used Milani White on the Spot for the white. Topped it all off with HK Girl Top Coat.

The dry brushing really reminded my of Edward Gorey's drawings which is who Tim Burton gets a lot of his inspiration! :) I love Gashlycrumb Tinies!

Halloween Challenge: Recreate a Mani!

Happy Halloween! Today's Halloween Challenge from Crumpet's Nail Tarts is to recreate a mani from this challenge! So I decided to recreate Things That Go Bump In The Night by ourpaintedworld. I really love this mani!

This mani is just super cute and classic Halloween! How could I not recreate it!

Now, it's not perfect (my brush went a little crazy on some of the stitches) but I love it! And so what if my Frankenstein looks a bit more like a green minion than the Frankenstein above. It adds character! :)

I didn't have a bright green so I created my own by applying a coat of  China Glaze Star Board with a coat of Ginger+Liz Ivy League. I like the murky green that it created! I used Pure Ice Platinum Magic Base Coat for the white, Finger Paints Black Expressionism for all the black, and the Zoya Sooki for the mummy eyes.

I hope you have enjoyed this Halloween Challenge. I know I have! And don't forget to check out the others doing the Crumpet's Nail Tarts Halloween Challenge!

Doctor Who Inspired Mani

And cue music: weringgrrgrr BADUMBADUMBADUM Dun Duuun Dun Duun OOOWEEOOOOO OOOWWEEOOOOO WEOOOO OOO DUNN DUNN DUN DUUUN OOOWEOOOO OOO OWEOOOO OOOHH OHHHH DUN DUN DUN WAYOWOOOOOOO

My sister and I have this new obsession. Doctor Who. So, for Halloween I decided to be the Tenth Doctor. (dressed up for Trunk or Treat and will be dressing up tomorrow night too!) and she decided to be the Eleventh Doctor! So of course I had to do our nails! :) Abstractly, of course!

I used Cult Nails Time Traveler as my base on three of my nails. This is one coat and applied wonderfully! I then used Pure Ice Platinum Magic Base Coat to make my Tardis windows and sign. I used IsaDora Bronze Patina for the base of my Dalek accent nail. I then dotted using Essie Good As Gold and then Catrice Browno Mars. Abstract but if you are a Whovian then you will recognize them! :)

These are my sister's nails. She said I couldn't do nail art on her nails because they were too short. I scoffed at her! :) I used Pure Ice Platinum Magic Base Coat (2 coats) on her index and ring finger. To create the bow tie and fez (I wear a fez now, fezzes are cool) I mixed Zoya Sooki and Catrice Lost in Mud. I then used Essie Good As Gold for the tassel. I know, I know. There shouldn't be a tassel but it needed something else. I used Cult Nails Time Traveler as the base for her other nails with Pure Ice Platinum Magic Base Coat for the Tardis.

I really loved how these two manis turned out! So much fun!

Oh? You want to see our costumes? OK! :) **Warning, a bit picture heavy!**

Me, as the Tenth Doctor, my sister as the Eleventh Doctor, and my nephew as the Tardis! Bah! I love it!

Full costume. Sonic screwdriver and all! (Er, how about a flashlight with Bundle Monster stamp plate blue plastic taped over it!). Oh and I am carrying my trench (because he wears a trench coat!)

Um.......yep. This is me trying to be silly and Doctor-like. See first photo with my sister and my goofy smile!

This is my favorite! :)

These are some references for our costumes!

Hair reference and glasses!

And the big goofy grin! :) I hope you enjoyed my little homage to Doctor Who! :)

Halloween Challenge and Sat-Art-Day Club: Scary Movie and Halloween

Today is a two for one! For Halloween Challenge from Crumpet's Nail Tarts it is a Scary Movie and for The Sat-Art-Day Club it is Halloween. So I figured my scary movie could be used for Halloween, right? Well, to late! :)

Now, if you have already figured out what the scary movie is then I applaud you and think you are the coolest person ever! This movie is one of the scariest Disney movies of all times. Yep, Disney made a scary movie. Don't know what it is yet?

Yep, The Watcher in the Woods. Freaky movie! And the alternate original ending that you can find on DVD...what the heck! Freaky! :)

So my mani represents the time when the name Karen is written backwards on the window and also the triangle that shows up in broken mirrors and windows. Spooky! I used OPI Skull & Glossbones as my base with Finger Paints Black Expressionism for the writing.

If you haven't seen this movie you need to! :) And just a few more creepy clips! :) Enjoy!

TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indie Friday - Lacquistry Witches Warts

Here is my last Halloween inspired TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indy Indie Friday! This is such a gorgeous glitter! It's my favorite color! And can go with so many different polishes and seasons! Woot! :)

Like always: (l-r) 4 coats (index finger), 3 coats (middle finger), 2 coats (ring finger), and 1 coat (pinky).

Here is the little inspiration post about it on Lacquistry's etsy page:
"Creeping through the woods on a darkened eve, you see through the trees a flickering light. As you get closer you hear the strange and melodic chanting from the hunched figures in pointed hats circling about the fire. A bubbling cauldron hangs over the fire being tended to by a cackling creature. Her back is to you but she stops and suddenly sniffs the air. You duck back behind the tree but you catch a glimpse of her wretched green face covered in warts turning to look at you…
Lacquistry’s Witches Warts is a tribute to the classic witch, with black circle glitters and varying shades of matte and holo greens."
I love the imagery in that! I love this polish!

Here is one coat of Witches Warts over (l-r) OPI Uh-Oh Roll Down the Window, OPI Planks A Lot, OPI Fiercely Fiona, and Essence Romeo. Just look at those glitters! The micro holo glitter just adds the right amount of depth to this polish! I had no issues in applying this polish.

Bottle and macro bottle shot of Lacquistry's Witches Warts.

Jenna over at Lacquistry is a wizard with polishes! If you haven't tried one of her polishes....you need to! :)

Please go over to her Facebook page here to be kept up-to date with her news.

Halloween Challenge: Gore!

Today's Halloween Challenge from Crumpet's Nail Tarts is Gore! Ew! I am thoroughly disgusted at my mani! But in a good way (for once!) I love it and want to vomit at the same time! :)

To me it looks like torn flesh with the muscle showing through it. And then I did the classic vampire bite with fresh blood oozing out of it! Gross huh!

Yep, three pictures of it. I'm very happy with how it turned out! In this photo you can see the bits of flesh too! Hahaha! For my polishes I used Zoya Sooki (red) and two coats of Zoya Shay (flesh). I also used Finger Paints Black Expressionism (holes) and China Glaze Matte Magic (on the torn flesh).

I was inspired by two different manis. First, for the vampire holes I used Nails by Kayla Shevonne Vampire Bites Tutorial. (awesome, easy to follow tutorial!) And then second I follow Betzie on Instagram and she posted her gory nails and told you how to do them! Please click on Betzie's name and look up her amazing photos! (I didn't want to post her photos as they don't have her name on them and I didn't want people to use them).
