Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays: China Glaze Pelican Gray and Spectraflair Top Coat

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays are where we re-create manis from different blogs or pictures we have "pinned" on Pinterest, and link back to the original blogger!

Did you know it's been over a month since I did my last Monkey See Monkey Do! Wow, time sure does fly. Well while reading my Bloglovin' feed I came across this beautiful post and found out that I could totally replicate the mani! Yes!

The blog is: Sweet Tips Nails and here is her mani!

She used China Glaze Pelican Gray and topped it off with a Spectraflair top coat she had created. Isn't it stunning! (Please click on the image to be taken to the full post) She goes on and adds some awesome stamping! But I also loved this mani just like this. Simple? Yes, but gorgeous!

So, I started out with China Glaze Pelican Gray. And let me tell you, this was the worst China Glaze polish I have ever worked with! It was super runny and flooded like crazy! But at least it was easy to clean up. This is two coats as it is a bit sheer. Sorry for the bit blurry pic, lighting didn't want to work all that great! :)

I then added a coat of Holo Top Coat 14 which I got from Copious from the seller: Andrea Osvath. She makes some awesome Spectraflair Holo Top Coats!

Just another picture of the holo goodness! :) But I didn't stop there!

I also added one coat of Holo Top Coat 20 for some extra holo goodness! I love this! Super simple but very complex! :)

Thank you Jen from Sweet Tips Nails for such an awesome mani! :)

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays: French Tips and Irridescent Flakies

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays are where we re-create manis from different blogs or pictures we have "pinned" on Pinterest, and link back to the original blogger!

Mine is the one above. Now for my inspiration I chose:

This is by Mommy Does Her Nails (please click title or image to be sent to her site). I've been wanting to re-create this mani for a while! I love how simple and gorgeous it is!Even though I just saw posts this week on how this could be a boring mani (not hers, but someone else did this type of mani). But I disagree! I love it! Wow!

Yeah, sorry this is my one and only photo that worked. Don't know how you ladies are able to take such amazing photos when it is cloudy! :) But I love this mani and will definitely be doing it again! I used Color Club French Tip for my tips and Essie Shine of the Times.

What do you think? Boring or gorgeous?

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays: Striping Tape Plaid

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays are where we re-create manis from different blogs or pictures we have "pinned" on Pinterest, and link back to the original blogger!

Today I decided to put on my big girl undies and try a striping tape mani! For some reason tape manis of any kind scare me! >_<

Here is the original that I decided to attempt. This is from The Polished Squirrel, a cute blog that you all should follow! (please click on the image or the blog title to be sent to her site!) I love the colors she chose! So fun! And the design, I thought to myself, I can do that too! (hopefully!)

I love how mine turned out! Yes, there is a little boo-boo on the pointer finger but I still lurve it! :) I used China Glaze Kalahari Kiss as the base with OPI You Don't Know Jacques Suede as the over-color (is that the word I'm looking for?). I love how it looks all warm and comfy like a fall sweater! :) Oh and this suede rocked as an over-color(?), perfect application and opaqueness! :)

Here is a photo to show you China Glaze Kalahari Kiss on it's own. This color is so unique in my collection! It's gorgeous! Like a straw/khaki color!

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays: Mustaches & Monocles!

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays are where we re-create manis from different blogs or pictures we have "pinned" on Pinterest, and link back to the original blogger!

Shhhh! No, I have no idea what you are talking about. Part of this mani so doesn't look familiar! ;) Hahaha! (please see this post) So I decided to recycle a mani a bit. Shhh! :) I used China Glaze Agent Lavender as the base. Konad Black and plate QA28. I then used Color Club French Tip and Wet 'N Wild Black Cream for the monocles.

I was inspired by Samariums Swatches mani: Mustaches & Monocles! (please click the post title or the image to be taken to her site).

I love this mani a ton and it was a blast to recreate it! It's so fun and full of whimsy and awesomeness! Yep, awesomeness! :)

Thank you Samariums Swatches for making such an awesome mani! :)

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays: Flip Flops!

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays are where we re-create manis from different blogs or pictures we have "pinned" on Pinterest, and link back to the original blogger!

Today I have re-created a gorgeous bright flip flop mani! When I first saw it I knew I had to do this mani. You see, I work at Old Navy and this Saturday was our $1 Flip Flop sale! How perfect is that! Oh, and they were a hit at work! :)

This is my inspiration from A Girl and Her Polish. (please click her name her image below to be sent to her site!). Isn't hers gorgeous! I didn't have any neons but chose some bright colors to go with the theme. Now this mani was hard for me to do. I don't do skittles all that well, something about have different colors on each finger is hard for me. And I usually do my ring finger as the accent nail and not the little finger like above. But by golly I was determined to re-created this lovely mani! :)

Now they only problem with this: was what to do for my thumb! Her's isn't pictured! Well, I thought like any good friend of The Crumpet would do and added a purple! :)

See! My purple thumb with more flip flops! :)

Bah! Pay no attention to the wonky little finger, it doesn't get much camera time and therefore isn't trained on how to behave in this situation. This is my right hand because I started stamping before I took a picture to show you the base colors! Duh! >_< But the colors are (l-r): Max Factor Disco Pink, Catrice Blue Cara Ciao, OPI Fiercely Fiona, and FingerPaints Sexy Sundress. My purple thumb is OPI Planks a Lot. I used Bundle Monster BM-309 (this one also has the owls on it!). I stamped using Konad Black and Konad White.

And for kicks and giggles the bottle shots of the polishes I used.

Thank you, A Girl and Her Polish for created such an awesome mani! :)

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays: Jelly Sandwich...Mattified!

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays are where we re-create manis from different blogs or pictures we have "pinned" on Pinterest, and link back to the original blogger!

Today I did a Jelly Sandwich (or Sammich). Yes I've done one before, but this one is mattified! Wahoo! :)

Here is another shot of my Jelly Sandwich Mattified! You might recognized this mani as I showed you part of it on Friday for my TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indie Friday - Sonoma Nail Art Clockwork. But I have now made it a sandwich and mattified it. :)

So, the ingredients are: base polish is OPI Skull & Glossbones. Glitter: Sonoma Nail Art Clockwork. Top polish: OPI It's Totally Fort Worth It. And then added China Glaze Matte Magic to finish it off!

This is the concept that I was inspired by. A gorgeous Sandy Sandwich....Mattified by The Nailasaurus (please click image of title to be sent to her site). I love the unconventional color of this. I usually see jelly sandwiches using pinks, blues, or whites. But I am loving this neutral! I think I need the OPI she used! (PS it's OPI Samoan Sand, just to let you know).

This is how it started out. Two coats of OPI Skull & Glossbones with one coat Sonoma Nail Art Clockwork.

Add one coat of OPI It's Totally Fort Worth It. This is a sheer silver shimmer with pink sparkles. This is a pretty mani just like this, but I had to make it a Monkey See Monkey Do! :)

And voila! A Jelly Sandwich.....Mattified! :) Yes, it's still a bit shiny with the glitter, but that's because you can't hide the awesomeness that is Clockwork by Sonoma Nail Art! ;) I am loving this mani a ton! I have been told it looks like a bird's egg or even stone.

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays: Grunge Nails

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays are where we re-create manis from different blogs or pictures we have "pinned" on Pinterest, and link back to the original blogger!

This week I decided to try the Grunge Nail effect. Mine turned out more gory and bloody looking (perfect zombie nails) rather than cute and awesome! But I still like them! And in person they don't look as gory! :)

A slightly different angle of them. I used four different polishes. The green that you see is A England Dragon (I recycled this mani! Yeah me!), Then The bright pink is Finger Paints Leonardo Da Vin-Pink. The purple on top is China Glaze Urban-Night with Orly Prisma Gloss Silver on top for some sparkle. In my head all the colors went together: green, pink, purple, and holo micro glitter! But on the nail and grungified it turned into zombie mess-like nails, oh well, I had fun and learned a new technique! In hindsight, I should have maybe used a top coat to smooth it all out so the glitter didn't make everything all bumpy? Who knows.

I used two different sources for these nails. First off is Neverland Nail Blog's Grunge Nails! (It is her acetone spots that I copied). (click on name or image to be sent to Neverland's blog).

And I also used NailsAdored's tutorial for the Grunge Effect. (again please click name of blog or picture to be sent to NailsAdored).

See my concept was good, the application of it? Not sure, but I will definitely be trying this technique again! :)

Here is what my nails looked like before the acetone wrecked "havoc". :)

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays: Eek! Faces

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays are where we re-create manis from different blogs or pictures we have "pinned" on Pinterest, and link back to the original blogger!

This week I decided to copy Emma's mani over at Manicurity: Eek! Faces. I thought these were so stinkin' cute! I used Nicole by OPI Wild Blue Yonder - Matte as my base. This is a lovely matte that almost has a suede like finish. I used Wet n' Wild Black Creme and Color Club French tip for the faces.

These little faces are so fun and easy! I want to do them again during Halloween! :)

Here is a photo of Emma's man from Manicurity. (click the title or the picture to be sent to her blog and post).

Monkey See Monkey Do Monday: Orly Buried Alive

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays are where we re-create manis from different blogs or pictures we have "pinned" on Pinterest, and link back to the original blogger!

This week I thought I would use one of my newest polishes. Orly Buried Alive from the Dark Shadows Collection. I wasn't going to get any of these polishes but I saw this amazing stamped mani using this polish and knew I needed the polish. So it was that mani that I decided to copy this week. Now, it isn't an exact, because I don't have the same stamp, but I did use the exact polishes (Orly Buried Alive and BarryM Nail Effects Gold Foil)! But I also used a Cheeky brand plate like she did; but I used CH10.

This amazing mani is by Carolina over at Colores de Carol: Orly Buried Alive. (click the title or the picture to be sent to her blog and post). I have added this watermark because I didn't want people to think I was using it as my own and I wanted it to show her name on it. But isn't it gorgeous! This is why I needed this polish, and I wasn't disappointed! :)

Here is Orly Buried Alive on it's own. Gorgeous!

Ahhh! Insane creepy closeup to show the detail of this polish! :)

Monkey See Monkey Do Monday: Poptart Nails

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays are where we re-create manis from different blogs or pictures we have "pinned" on Pinterest, and link back to the original blogger!

This week I thought I would kill three birds with one stone. Use two untrieds and do a technique I have never done! I give you Poptart Nails! My inspiration is from Adventures in Acetone.

This photo is from Adventures in Acetone (click the blog name or the image above to be sent to her blog). She has such an amazing blog with wonderful nail art! Go on and check it out!

Now, Poptart Nails are a jelly sandwich (or sammich). I have never done this technique before. And in fact I specifically bought Essie Marshmallow to recreate this months ago but hadn't it done it yet! So the polishes I used are: Essie Marshmallow and NOPI Rainbow in the S-Kylie. My picture way above also has Seche Vite as it's top coat.

This was super easy and I love how it turned out! I think I need more jellys in my life! :)

Monkey See Monkey Do Monday: Funky French

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays are where we re-create manis from different blogs or pictures we have "pinned" on Pinterest, and link back to the original blogger!

So I thought I would do my first MSMDM in honor of the mani that started my obsession. I decided to recreate Chloe's Nails: Funky French mani! I love this look a lot!

This picture above is from Chloe's Nails and it inspired me. (click the image or any of the text with her blog name to be sent to her blog). She is an amazing blogger and nail-fanatic! :)

My mani isn't as crisp as hers, but she has a more wonderful shaped nail than I do, but I still like mine! I used the same polishes: OPI Lincoln Park After Dark Matte (two coats) and Seche Vite for the tips. So simple but so edgy!

When I first saw this mani I was struck dumb....a matte polish! What. The. Crap! How fantabulous! And I've been hooked ever since!
