The Nail Challenge Collaborative: Stripes - Monster Line Dance

Final day of The Nail Challenge Collaborative's theme of stripes, and I give you a monster line dance! :) Look at those monsters (MoYou Sci-Fi 01) dancing up a storm on their colorful dance floor!

I used BarryM Espresso as my base, two coats. This is an amazing black matte! I stamped using BarryM: Waikiki (index monster), Miami (middle monster), Cancun (ring monster), and Copa Cabana (pinkie monster). The french tip (or my stripe for this challenge, see, see what I did there?) Are those same colors but one to their right.

So that means I have to show you my thumb! Stamped using BarryM Malibu with a stripe of Copa Cabana. He's like an owl/duck monster!

The BarryM Mattes are amazing to stamp with! Their formulas are fantabulous!

Oh and what are the monsters line dancing to?

Monster Mash, of course! :) Happy Halloween! Please be safe!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents: Stripes - Owl Stripes

Day 3 of The Nail Challenge Collaborative's theme of stripes and combining it with the Digit-al Dozen's Spooky Days.

Not sure exactly what I was going for here! Hahahaha! But look! It's got stripes and an owl....what could go wrong? Oh, how about stamping stripes on all the other nails. Nu-uh, nope. So I had to free-hand the other stripes.

I used BarryM Mango as my base. I stamped on my ring finger using BarryM Plum and MoYou Pro 04. On my other nails I used BarryM Plum to create stripes (yep, that is the same color used to stamp!) and Konad Black with MoYou Pro 04 for the scroll-work. Topped it off with Poshe Top Coat.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents: Stripes - Halloween Camo?

This is my day 2 of The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents Stripes! And today I bring you Halloween camo? This is just a few Halloween colors, splodged on, and stamped over with stripes. :)

I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as my base (though you can't see it). I then splodged on BarryM: Plum, Mango, and Key Lime. I stamped using Konad White and Cheeky CH10. The white was too bright so I used Essence We Will Rock You Smokey Finish Top Coat. I then used Essie Matte About You as you can see in the first photo.

Meh. That's what I feel about this. Just meh. It is what it is. :)

Don't forget to check out the other day 2 Stripes!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Spooky Days: Aged Wallpaper

Today's spooky post is wallpaper that has been left to rot and decay in the houses of the not so rich and famous.

Here we have our wallpaper so fresh and new! BarryM Mustard (love this color!) for the base stamped with BarryM Chai (yes! a grey that actually looks grey when stamped! Gonna need some back ups!) using MoYou Fashionista 08.

The wallpaper is now showing signs of abandonment. It's gotten dusty thanks to OPI My Pointe Exactly and Essie Matte About You. It's even starting to peel in some places thanks to acetone and a brush. It's starting to show the wall color under it, BarryM Chai.

And finally the wallpaper has been taken over by a little brown spider created from BarryM Mocha and Wet n Wild Black Creme. His webs (my first attempt at the spun sugar technique) is also the lovely BarryM Chai.

I hope you liked our visit today to derelict walls of the not so rich and famous!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents: Stripes - This is Halloween!

Welcome to another Nail Challenge Collaborative theme! This month it is stripes! I've decided to try and pair it with The Digit-al Dozen's Spooky Days!

Today I went for simple and easy and not spooky at all! How could Jack Skeleton be scary? Nope, not at all. I used Barry M Plum as a base as well as OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. I stamped using Konad White and Cheeky CH10 (stripes). I used my cleanup brush with some acetone on it to sort of distress the white lines. Didn't want them too clean looking! I used a Jack decal I got from RLR Creations. Her decals are my favorite! I sealed everything with HK Girl Top Coat.

Don't forget to check out the other Day 1 Stripes!

And don't forget to check out the other Spooky Manis!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Floral Week: Gift Wrap Flowers

Final day of Floral Week and I bring you yet another mani based on a print I found on Print & Pattern (seriously need to check out this site!). This is based on a gift bag found at Marks & Spencer.

I think I could have made my flowers a bit more flower shaped but I still like how it turned out and love the colors together!

I used China Glaze Pelican Gray as my base. The flowers are: China Glaze Def Defying, OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, BarryM Plum, and BarryM Pomegranate. I used NYC Top Coat, as is smeared the flowers a bit. Sad day!

I hope you have enjoyed floral week!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Floral Week: Wallpaper Flowers

Day four of Floral Week and we have some pointillism/abstract flowers based on a wallpaper design by Jane Bridges found here. I was drawn to the colors and the flow of this pattern.

I used Barielle My City Apartment as my base and acrylic paints for the flowers. Above is before I added a matte top coat. I had a lot of fun with these dots! I think this is the most dots I've ever done in a mani! You really need to check out the original print, it's gorgeous!

This is with Essie Matte About You, look how it made the grey dots turn a khaki color. I like the matte of it but not the color change. Oh well! :)

Don't forget to check out the other floral manis today!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Floral Week: Stationary Flowers

Day three of Floral Week and I bring you another floral pattern I found on Print & Pattern. This is based on some stationary found in a British Department store called John Lewis.

This is my attempt of creating more detail in my nail art. I had a lot of fun creating this mani even though it's not perfect. :)

I used Wet n Wild Black Creme as my base. For the flowers I used: Barielle My City Apartment, OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, China Glaze Def Defying, BarryM Grapefruit, BarryM Pomegranate, and OPI Mermaid's Tears. I used Essie Matte About You to finish off the look.

Don't forget to check out the other floral manis the ladies created!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Floral Week: Fabric Flowers

Day two of Floral Week and I bring you some flowers based on fabric by MissPrint which I found on Print & Pattern (love this site for inspiration!).

Is it a perfect recreation? Nah, I think I need yet a smaller brush and bigger nail beds! But I still find this pattern interesting, even though my index finger looks a little anatomical. >_<

I used China Glaze Def Defying as my base with OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and Nail Art Black. I used Essie Matte About You to make it have a more fabric feel.

Don't forget to check out what floral manis the other ladies created!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Floral Week: Polka Dot, Polka Dot, Polka Dot Flowers!

Another month = another Digit-al Dozen week! This week's theme is floral! A lot of us were talking about really pushing ourselves to not do just the normal standard floral manis. And I can tell you that I was so tempted to stamp this week, but I resisted! All my manis this week are freehand! (maybe not perfect, but I'm happy!)

Today I have some drag marble flowers! I used So Nailicious' Rainbow Drops Drag Marble Nail Art Tutorial to create my flowers. I haven't done that much drag marbling/needle marbling, but I had a lot of fun and love how they turned out! So happy and cheery!

I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as my base. The other colors I used: China Glaze Def Defying, BarryM Plum, BarryM Grapefruit, BarryM Guava, Sinful Colors Pragmatic, and Sally Hansen Man-go Team. Sealed with HK Girl Top Coat this mani lasted a whole week on my nails!

I was going to leave them all with just the flowers but thought they needed something else so polka dot polka dot polka dot flowers was born!

Muwahahahahaha! It's all in your heads now! You're welcome! :)

Don't forget to check out the other ladies and their florals!

Barielle Me Couture Dotticure!

I created a dotticure using five of the polishes from the new fall collection of Barielle that I reviewed yesterday. I really loved how it turned out! I used Taupe Notch as my base with (starting at my cuticle) Moda Bleu, Boho Chic, Soho at Night, and Berry Posh.

I added the Barielle Top Coat and the camera decided to hate it. It was really pretty in person but there is so much light glare because of the super shiny top coat that you can of lose the effect of the dotticure. Should have tried it matte. But it was still gorgeous in person!

Barielle Fall 2014: Me Couture Review

Barielle's Me Couture Collection for Fall 2014 embraces the high fashion colors for this rich season of the year. A sophisticated palette combination of retro and intense shades totally compliments current styles and trends" (Barielle Press Release).

This is Taupe Notch, "a creamy, dark taupe".  Yes! That's all I can say. This is a gorgeous beautiful polish with a fabulous formula! This is two coats without a top coat. I could have gotten away with just one coat.

See! Just look at this color! Stunning! I love it!

This is Berry Posh, "a creamy, deep fuchsia". Barielle and their pinks are always gorgeous! This is two coats no top coat. The first coat was a bit sheer, so a second coat is needed.

I had no issues with the formula on this one. Just beautiful!

This is Moda Bleu, "a creamy, dark navy/blue". This is a really deep blue an almost blurple color. Look at the shine on this one too! This is two coats and no top coat!

I did have some slight issues with the formula on this one. Moda Bleu seems to be a bit thicker than the others and had a lot of drag marks with my first coat. But the second coat evens it all out.

This is Soho at Night, "a creamy, grape purple". I almost put this as a dusty grape purple. Beautiful, two coats and no top coat.

This one acted a little like Moda Blue in that the formula of Soho at Night is a bit thicker and definetely needs two coats to even out.

Here we have Boho Chic, "a creamy, deep sea green". I love this color. Almost has a hint of teal to it, gorgeous! Two coats and no top coat and super shiny!

No issues with this formula, gorgeous and fabulous!

This is Vintage Gown, "a creamy, rust with a hint of pink". This is a really pretty color, two coats and no top coat.

This photo shows the more true color. There is shimmer in the bottle but it didn't really show up on my nails. But the formula was still fabulous!

All of Barielle polishes contain no formaldehyde, toluene, dibutyl-phthalate, camphor, or formaldehyde-resin. They are 0.45 fl oz (13.3ml) and are suggested retail at $8.00. You can find them at Barielle.com
