Thank Goodness, Indie Friday - Once Upon a Polish SNow White and the Seven Dwarfs
This
is my first shredded glitter polish! Snow White and the Seven Drawfs
has silver holographic hex glitters, black shredded glitters, and white
hex glitters in a clear base. I love this look but I gotta say, the
black shredded glitters kind of gave me some difficulties in spreading
on my nails. I had to more place them then allow them to go randomly.
But other than that I love it! And I'm totally fine with glitter being a
bit of a handle with care! :)
The
above photo is two coats of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on my index
and middle fingers with one coat on ring and pinkie fingers.
So
I had a few comments on what the glitters I am showing would look like
on other colors. So I thought to do a skittle with my glitters to show
you a range! :) All are one coat of Once Upon a Polish Snow White and
the Seven Dwarfs. (l-r) China Glaze Make Some Noise, OPI Mermaid's
Tears, OPI Funky Dunkey, and Models Own Lemon Meringue. I like them all
but my favorite(s) would be Mermaid's Tears and Lemon Meringue.
What do you think?
I
promise this is another photo. It was a cloudy day and so not many of
my photos worked. But both show how wonderfully shiny and glossy this
top coat is! Love it!
Bottle shot of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. For some reason I really love the lid! :)
And glorious macro bottle shot of the yummy glitters in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Love Yourself Mani: Zoinks Jelly Sandwich!
So, on last Friday I hinted about a mani coming up. Well here it is! This is my Red Carpet Lacquer Zoinks Jelly Sandwich, matted! Love it!
So let me remind you, this is what it looked like before. Base polish is OPI Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh with Red Carpet Lacquer Zoinks!
This is with OPI Samoan Sand over it.
Another shot of OPI Samoan Sand. This is such a perfect neutral jelly!
And then I matte it using China Glaze Matte Magic. And I love how it turned out! So fun! Jelly Sandwiches are so fun and versatile with all the amazing glitters and jellies to be had! :)
I really liked this mani and wanted to do something for me, that I enjoyed. This is part of the Love Yourself manis. For more information click on this picture or the one in my sidebar to be taken to the facebook group!

Review: HK Girl Top Coat
So, I kept hearing about this amazing top coat that is like Seche Vite but doesn't get goopy! Well, I got my through Copious from Jill (who sells it through Glisten & Glow). She doesn't make the top coat but rebottles it for her customers. How fantastic is that! :)
Well, I used it. And guess what? I liked it! A lot! It is definitely thinner than Seche Vite. My first attempt had it pooling onto my cuticles! It dries quickly too! And look at that shine! This is two coats of HK Girl Top Coat AND 5 days wear!
Here you can see the tip wear more. So is this a top coat you should try? Absolutely! But since I have only just started using it I cannot attest to it not becoming goopy later on like Seche Vite does. Also, I have tried it on stamping yet. But I will let you know when I do! :)
**edit: I have tried HK Girl with stamping and it is genius! No smearing of my stamp! Fantastic! :)
You can buy HK Girl Top Coat here: Glisten & Glow

Wednesday Reads - Le Petit Prince
Today I am telling you about a special little book. This book is dear to my family. I own three copies of it. My brother owns a ton more, including the pop-up version I bought for him last year! :) Not sure what started it all. But this little story is full of great wisdom.
What is this wonderful book? Well, the title of my blog gives it away, huh! It is Le Petit Prince, or The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. (And gosh darn the fact that I have no idea how to do all the accents in blogger, if this was word we'd be having all the accent aigus possible but nope not here. Grrr!)
These are the three copies that I own. A small blue paperback french version that I bought before I read it in my french class, the little white paperback french version I read in class, and the bigger hardback copy that was my mother's. I cherish each copy for different reasons. The first one is still pristine and not written in. The little white copy is all written and marked up with my favorite passages. And the one that was my mother's is dear to me because she past away 6 years ago.
I hope you have all read this little story; if not, please do. Le Petit Prince was first published in 1943 and is about a pilot who is lost in the desert that comes across a very unique little boy, The Little Prince. The Little Prince tells the pilot all about the planet he is from that has three volcanoes and a rose. He also tells the pilot about the other planets he has visited and about the people who inhabit them. When The Little Prince comes to earth he encounters many things that make him sad and long for his little planet and his rose.
I won't go into too much detail about what exactly happens. But I believe everyone should read this wonderful story, it isn't that long but has many great insights.
One of my favorite quotes are: "It is the time you have devoted to your rose that makes your rose so important." The Little Prince is told this by a fox when The Little Prince is crying about his rose. I love this quote because it applies to much more. What we devote our time to is made special to us and only us.
But my absolute favorite quote is:
Translated is: "One sees clearly only with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eye." This is very true and reminds me to not take everything for what I see only. Eyes can be deceived. The heart knows the truth.
Do any of you have a story or book that is dear to you?

Teal Tuesdays - Funky French
So I had this grand idea of stamping or french tape mani or layers or clean and crisp and simple. But as I put on my base french tip color I had an epiphany. And here is how my mani turned out. I am so loving this mani it's ridiculous!
Voila! Isn't it so purdy! I have no shame with this mani. I never expected it to work out so well! I am so proud of it! :) The colors I used are OPI Pink-a-Doodle. This is the natural look of my nails. It is beautiful pink with a deeper pink flash (gorgeous!) but the flash doesn't like to be photographed. Pink-a-Doodle is my new go-to french mani base! Love!
I also used OPI Fly and the base for the french tip. I then sponged China Glaze Atlantis and the sponged Once Upon a Polish Under the Sea over that!
And yep another. I promise they are three different photos! :) I love the random square holo glitter found in Under the Sea it add a bit of dimension! :)
OPI Pink-a-Doddle and OPI Fly as tips. Uneven tips. But that's what the glitter hides! :)

Haul Time!
There is no Monkey See Monkey Do Monday Mani today. Instead you a look at my latest haul and probably last haul for a awhile. I'm trying to be good and I also joined a Halloween Swap so I want to make sure an leave something for them to get me! :)
This is my final swap package from my one swap group. This is from Amber and I love it! Look at all that yummy candy and polish! Oh and that little mustache? He talks! "Well, hello there" Hahahaha! The polishes I got are Saturday Morning Cartoons by Whimsical Nail Polish by Pam and a Francesca's polish called Confetti. I love them both and can't wait to use them!
This here is my first Hare Polish, Asteroid Turf. Really excited for this one! And then this lovely L'Oreal is Britt Invasion. Gorgeous!
Macro bottle shot of Hare Polish Asteroid Turf. Love the colors!
Next up is a lovely little collection I found at Ross. A whole collection of green polishes from KleanColor! (L-R) Starry Meteor, Mystic Grass, Jazz Olive, Green Grass, TLC, and Melon Green. I bought this and then the next day saw this post from Gnarly Gnails where she states she loves Melon Green! I'm excited! :)
So I read about this wonderful and amazing top coat HK Girl, reviewed by Caitlin at Caitlin's Creative Corner. And I knew I had to try it out. Well I found out that not only does Jill sell it through her awesome store: Glisten & Glow, but sometimes you can find for sale by her on Copious! (which is where I got it!) I can't wait to try this. Like Seche Vite without the goopy! Woot!
And my last bit of haulage that cost me nothing! Essie Penny Talk! Free because I had enough Klout Perks! Don't have Klout? Sign up and get awesome perks! :)

Thank Goodness, Indie Friday - Red Carpet Lacquer Zoinks!
Welcome to this week's episode of TGIF: Thank Goodness,
Oh happy day! Another green and brown glitter! Yes! *happy dance* Here is Zoinks! with no undies. Index and middle fingers are two coats each. Ring and pinkie fingers are one coat each. This polish is a lot of fun! As you can tell by my happy dance! :)
Here is one coat of Zoinks over OPI Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh. And not that is not glitter bleeding on my ring finger. Van Gogh went on a bit splotchy, I promise. No bleeding glitter here!
Slightly different angle to show shine and color! Loving this glitter! Can't wait to try it on other colors! I chose this base for a reason, but you will have to wait on that until next week! Muwahahahahaha! ;)
Macro bottle shot of Red Carpet Lacquer's Zoinks! Run, don't walk over to her etsy page here and her facebook page here!
Just the swatch of OPI Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh (see a bit splotchy on the ring finger!). This is one coat, two would be best.

Love Yourself Mani: H&M Bambi On Ice
Talk about glitter that doesn't like to be photographed! :) Too shiny! Hahaha! But I love it! This is a Love Yourself Mani and I love this simple french tip mani with glitter accent nail! :)
I used this stinkin' adorable H&M Bambi polish On Ice, that I had someone get me a while back. I repeat, stinkin' cute! I so bought it for the bottle! But the polish is really nice too! Went one wonderfully! This is only one coat and look how opaque it is! Woot woot! It's like a cement color with a tinge of blue/green.
This picture is more true to life in color. Don't you just love the bottle!
I used Essence No More Drama for my tips and Sation Band Beauty for the accent nail.
Macro bottle shot of Sation Band Beauty. Such pretty glitters! :)
I really liked this mani and wanted to do something for me, that I enjoyed. This is part of the Love Yourself manis. For more information click on this picture or the one in my sidebar to be taken to the facebook group!

Teal Tuesdays - Jelly Sandwich
This week's tealicure is a Jelly Sandwich or Jelly Sammich. I love me some Jelly Sammiches! :) But alas the weather would not agree with me and so I had to do a very quick mani. :( So here we go again with another less than perfect mani.
It kinda went all gloopy! But other than that I like it! To me it looks like Certs breath mints! hahaha!
I used Color Club French Tip as my base with Essence Edward as the glitter (a greener teal in some lights) and Essie Marshmallow for the top! Marshmallow is a perfect topper for a Jelly Sammich! :) Actually that sort of sounds disgusting! hahahaha! :)
