Different Dimension Review: Part 3

Today is my final review of the Different Dimension polishes. And the ones for today are all inspired by the TV show, The Big Bang Theory! Let's get right into it! *Warning, picture heavy*

First up is Different Dimension Paper, Rock, Scissors, Lizard, Spock. This is a light blue jelly base with white glitter, white, light blue, grey, and light green hexes throughout. And it is gorgeous! Love the color combos!

Here it is on it's own. As always: (l-r) 4 coats, 3 coats, 2 coats, 1 coat. Since it is a jelly you can still see visible nail line even with 4 coats. But this polish is just gorgeous! The depth it has with all those glitters! Love! And guess what? Absolutely no issues! This glitter was born to be applied! :)

See! Look at the depth in the sun (sorry not too direct of sun, cloudy day). Everyday I kind of kick myself that I never got into this show that is so full of geeky goodness. So I know of all these quotes but don't know the stories behind them. :(

Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock

Sheldon: Ooh, I don't think so. Anecdotal evidence suggests that in the game of rock-paper-scissors, players familiar with each other will tie 75 to 80% of the time due to the limited number of outcomes. I suggest rock-paper-scissors-lizard-Spock.
Raj: What?
Sheldon: It's very simple. Scissors cuts paper. Paper covers rock. Rock crushes lizard. Lizard poisons Spock. Spock smashes scissors. Scissors decapitates lizard. Lizard eats paper. Paper disproves Spock. Spock vaporizes rock. And as it always has, rock crushes scissors.

Here is the skittle for today's polishes! (l-r) Essence You Belong to Me, Pure Ice Platinum Magic Base Coat, Essence Romeo, and OPI Wooden Shoe Like to Know. I chose these colors as they are perfect bases for one of each of these Different Dimension polishes and I want to see how all the tinted bases would react to the different colors! :) And Paper, Rock, Scissors, Lizard, Spock looks great over all of them! I really love it over Essence Romeo!

Up next is Different Dimension Bazinga. This polish has a yellow jelly base with different sized yellow and red hexes, as well as little red and yellow glitter. This is a very unique polish, I have nothing else like it!

All by it's lonesome. As always: (l-r) 4 coats, 3 coats, 2 coats, 1 coat. Since it is a yellow based, it does make the nail look yellow. The glitters in this polish did not like to appear regularly. But it wasn't hard to apply. Just some didn't always want to come out and play, especially the bigger red hexes. But with enough coats you get an even amount of glitters.

Here it is in the sun. A bit of highlighter yellow nail tips but other than that I think it's beautiful!
Bazinga!

Sheldon: Leonard, you may be right. It appears that Penny secretly wants you in her life in a very intimate and carnal fashion.
Leonard: You really think so?
Sheldon: Of course not. Even in my sleep-deprived state, I've managed to pull off another one of my classic pranks. BAZINGA!

And here's the skittle! (l-r) Essence You Belong to Me, Pure Ice Platinum Magic Base Coat, Essence Romeo, and OPI Wooden Shoe Like to Know. You can really see the yellow jelly on my middle finger which is a white base. It doesn't tinge the other too badly, so you could layer it over other colors! :)

Next up is Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty. Yes! A grey jelly! I love me some grey jellies! It is a creamy grey jelly base with tons of different sized white hex glitter, silver holographic glitter and grey glitter in different sizes!

All on it's own. As always: (l-r) 4 coats, 3 coats, 2 coats, 1 coat. As you can see, the glitters were really hard to get out and apply evenly. I was really sad about this because I was really looking forward to this polish. But do not despair! So the glitters don't play nice......then you shouldn't either! It'll just take a bit more pizazz to get them on and the result with be lovely!

Just look at it in the sun, so how pretty it is especially with 4 coats! Wow! So soft! *wink wink*
"Soft kitty,
Warm kitty,
Little ball of fur.
Happy kitty,
Sleepy kitty,
Purr, purr, purr."

Here is the skittle! (l-r) Essence You Belong to Me, Pure Ice Platinum Magic Base Coat, Essence Romeo, and OPI Wooden Shoe Like to Know. As you can see it looks great over 3 out of the 4 polishes, but not to much over the final brown one. (which I figured). And here you can see that the larger hexes are the ones that don't like to play nice. But it is still a gorgeous polish! :)

Last up is Different Dimension Penny. This polish has a coppery base with copper and brown glitter and copper and brown hexes throughout. And it is gorgeous! It is obviously inspired by the main girl on the show, Penny.

So I couldn't get a shade and sun photo of this to work (lame weather!) but this photo show both in a way and it is still a gorgeous polish!  As always: (l-r) 4 coats, 3 coats, 2 coats, 1 coat. You could actually just stay with 2 coats and be fine! I love the random hexes throughout it gives this polish some added depth that I love!

Here is the skittle. (l-r) Essence You Belong to Me, Pure Ice Platinum Magic Base Coat, Essence Romeo, and OPI Wooden Shoe Like to Know. I think it looks interesting over my index finger which is a blue base. But it looks best over my pinkie, a brown base (shocker huh!?). But I bet there are many more combos one could make with this polish. I had no issues applying this polish.

My favorite from today's polishes? So many unique polishes how to choose? But I would go with Paper, Rock, Scissors, Lizard, Spock. The depth is unbelievable! :)

Well, that rounds up my 3-part review of Different Dimension. I would like to thank Missi for this opportunity as I have been stalking her shop for a while now and have had a lot of these on my wishlist! :)

Different Dimension Polish Review: Part 2

Welcome back to Part 2 and Day 2 of my swatchapalooza review of Different Dimension Polish. Again today I am bring you 4 amazing polishes. Let's go see, shall we? *Warning, picture heavy*

First up we have Un-Teal We Meet Again. This is a lovely glitter topcoat with different sizes, shades, and shapes of teal glitters.

Here is Un-Teal We Meet Again all on it's own. As always (l-r) 4 coats, 3 coats, 2 coats, and 1 coat. You can see that it's a great top coat but you can use it alone if you build it up with layers!

Here it is in the sun. Look at how sparkly it is! Gorgeous isn't it!? This glitter was smooth and easy to apply without any problems!

I have a created another skittle to show you the polishes over different colors (one coat). (l-r) Essence Romeo, Leighton Denny Berry Nice, OPI Holiday Glow, and China Glaze Custom Kicks.

Next up is Different Dimension Rake, Crunch, Jump! This is a lovely glitter topcoat full of neutral glitters! Who doesn't love neutral glitters! I love them! :)

Here it is all by itself. As always (l-r) 4 coats, 3 coats, 2 coats, and 1 coat.

This was inspired by the leaves you rake up and jump in as a kid. Heck, if I didn't live in Arizona (we don't really have trees that do this) I would still jump in a pile of leaves!

Here it is with the skittle (one coat). (l-r) Essence Romeo, Leighton Denny Berry Nice, OPI Holiday Glow, and China Glaze Custom Kicks. Rake, Crunch, Jump! Is a perfect name for this polish. It is such a warm glitter that is easy to apply!

Up next is Different Dimension Honest Feels a Lot Like Mean. This glitter is also perfect for fall. Pink and brown glitters of different sizes are a win! (one of my favorite color combos!)

All by it's lonesome goodness! As always (l-r) 4 coats, 3 coats, 2 coats, and 1 coat. Even in the shade it's so sparkly!

In the sun the pink does shy a way a bit for the camera but in person you can still see the pink! Eek! Gorgeous!

Here it is over the skittle (one coat). (l-r) Essence Romeo, Leighton Denny Berry Nice, OPI Holiday Glow, and China Glaze Custom Kicks. You can really see the pink pop here, especially on my ring finger over OPI Holiday Glow. Again, I had no issues with this polish. The glitters behaved well! (I know, I sound like a broken record but that's a good thing! It means consistency!)  :)

And our final polish today is Different Dimension Warm Fuzzies. A stunning chocolate brown scattered holo! *Swoon* ;)

Shade shot. As always (l-r) 4 coats, 3 coats, 2 coats, and 1 coat. This polish was inspired by when Missi (the owner and creator of Different Dimension) worked in "worked in customer service for a telephone company the trainer always told us to give our callers 'the warm fuzzies' so hopefully you'll get them wearing this polish!"

Um...yes. I did get warm fuzzies wearing this. Wanna see!? Of course you do!

Bam! Check out the scattered holo and richness of this polish! This is still (l-r) 4 coats, 3 coats, 2 coats, and 1 coat. This polish applied heavenly. Some streaks are apparent but nothing too bad. But the holo goodness is amazing. This picture doesn't do it justice.

My favorite from today's polishes? It would have to be Un-Teal We Meet Again. I am a sucker for teal glitter! (don't get me wrong, I love them all though!)  :)

Stay tuned for tomorrow's post for my third installment of Different Dimension Polish Review! I'll tell you a secret.....it's all about a certain famous TV show!

Different Dimension Polish Review: Part 1

Welcome Owlets to a three day three part post of a review of some amazing polishes by Different Dimension! I was approached to review some polishes and was given 12 to review! Thank you so much!
Now onto the swatchapalooza! :) Warning: picture heavy! Like 2-3 picture for each polish today! :)

First up is Different Dimension Social Suicide.  This is based on the Movie Mean Girls. This glitter is a mix of black and white glitters of different sizes and shapes....no bar glitter! :)

Here is Social Suicide on it's own. As always: (l-r) 4 coats, 3 coats, 2 coats, 1 coat.

Here it is in the sun. So um, if you are looking for a black and white glitter you need this one! This polish applied wonderfully! I had no issues at all and just look at it! Wowza! :)

Here it is in a skittle (one coat)! (l-r) Essence Romeo, OPI Funky Dunkey, Leighton Denny Berry Nice, and China Glaze Westside Warrior. Oh my goodness Social Suicide is great over any color! But I think I am totally loving it over Essence Romeo and Leighton Denny Berry Nice.

Next we have Different Dimension Space Camp. This is a slight silver jelly base with lots of silver holo glitter and silver holo hexes.

Here is Space Camp on it's own. As always: (l-r) 4 coats, 3 coats, 2 coats, 1 coat. You all know I love a good sparkle right? Well, Space Camp has that without disappointment. Ready?

Bam! Full on sun! Glorious! This is such a stunning polish, I was blown away by it. And guess what? Super easy to apply! Woot woot!

Here it is in the skittle (one coat)! (l-r) Essence Romeo, OPI Funky Dunkey, Leighton Denny Berry Nice, and China Glaze Westside Warrior. (Yep, I used the same base colors on all these polishes today!) And it looks fabulous over all the colors!

Now we have Different Dimension 50 Shades. I think it's safe to say we all know what it was inspired by ;) This is a grey jelly with "black & white shreds, gunmetal & matte grey hex glitter, superfine grey flakies, black hex, holographic silver squares, as well as black, sparkling white, holographic silver ultrafine glitter and holographic grey glitter!" Wow! Phew! That's a lot of glitter! :)

Here is 50 Shades in the shade! Haha! :) As always: (l-r) 4 coats, 3 coats, 2 coats, 1 coat.

Full sun. Here you can really see the grey of the jelly base. Again, another lovely polish to apply. Some of the larger glitters didn't apply as much as others but with more coats you couldn't tell!

Here's the skittle once more (one coat). (l-r) Essence Romeo, OPI Funky Dunkey, Leighton Denny Berry Nice, and China Glaze Westside Warrior. The grey jelly base to tinge the base color ever so slightly but not too bad that you couldn't wear it over a bright base color! But I am loving it over Essence Romeo!

Final polish today is Different Dimension Roswell. This is a stunning blue/green duochrome that isn't camera shy.

Just check out the duochrome-iness! And in the shade! :) As always: (l-r) 4 coats, 3 coats, 2 coats, 1 coat.

Full sun. And lovely prettiness! As you can see one coat still has visible nail line. Two coats a tad bit of visible nail line but that depends on how much you gloop onto the brush! I had no issues with this polish either.

My favorite from today? So hard to choose! But probably Space Camp......it's so sparkly! :)

Thank you Different Dimension for these amazing polishes! Stay tune for tomorrow and part 2 of the swatchapalooza!

Lest We Forget.....

Today is Remembrance Day in Commonwealth Countries and Veteran's Day in the US. Since I lived in Canada for about 20-ish years I more tend to associate November 11th with Remembrance Day. It is a day to remember the members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

I remember the ceremony at 11am over at the cenotaph in town, freezing in the cold, and the lone bugle playing at the end of the minute of silence (which always seemed forever long as a kid).

"The red remembrance poppy has become a familiar emblem of Remembrance Day due to the poem "In Flanders Fields". These poppies bloomed across some of the worst battlefields of Flanders in World War I, their brilliant red colour an appropriate symbol for the blood spilled in the war." (wikipedia)

In Flander's Fields by Colonel John McCrae

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
         In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
         In Flanders fields.

So I created a mani with a Remembrance Day poppy. I used Finger Paints Black Expressionism (two coats) and Zoya Sooki.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Music and TGIF - Glimmer by Erica Harvest Moon

Day 5 of The Digit-al Dozen Does Music is also TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indy Indie Friday! And so I picked an Indie that I have that is also the name of a song! :) This stunning glitter is Glimmer by Erica's Harvest Moon.

She was inspired by:
the haunting light of the harvest moon. It is a stunning blend of gold, brown, orange, and burgundy glitters. It showcases all of the rich warm colors of fall.

Just love these colors together! It totally is fall in a bottle! Like always: (l-r) is 4 coats, 3 coats, 2 coats, and 1 coat of Harvest Moon.

Here is Harvest Moon (one coat) applied over OPI Skull & Glossbones, OPI Dutch Ya Just Love OPI, OPI Uh-Oh Roll Down the Window, and OPI Fly.

Harvest Moon applied wonderfully as a top coat. Just like my other Glimmer by Erica glitters I had no issues except that sometimes too much glitter applied. But that's alright! I'll take it! :)

Bottle shot and macro bottle of Spicy Pumpkin.

Please go over to her Facebook page here to be kept up-to date with her news.
And bookmark her etsy page here so that you can buy her polishes! :)

Don't forget to check out Emma's TGIF post over at Manicurity! She is also in The Digit-al Dozen!

This is Harvest Moon by Neil Young. It is used a lot in the movie Eat, Pray, & Love. (Good movie by the way!)

Oh and check out the best photo bomb ever! He (my nephew) was watching me take pictures! :)  (Don't worry, he wasn't there for the application of the polish).

Don't forget to check out the other ladies and their musical manis! :)
