The Digit-al Dozen Does Nature Week: Flowers

Final day of The Digit-al Dozen Does Nature and I have thrown you all for a curve ball! This doesn't really follow my previous days. No science here. No, I really wanted to do some flowers. And I really really wanted to do some Splash Floral nail art inspired by Emily from The Lacquerologist

http://www.amazon.com/Idiots-Guides-Nail-Emily-Draher/dp/161564699X

I recently bought this amazing book from Amazon that Emily created and I love it! Her photos are amazing, the tutorials easy to follow, and it's just such an awesome book! I highly recommend it!

So one of my favorite styles that Emily creates are her Splash Florals. I have always loved them but had never attempted them. I decided to do it for this theme! I used a stamp for my flowers where she free-hands them with her mad skillz! :)

I used BarryM Chai (possibly my favorite grey!) and BarryM Green Berry as my main colors. My ring finger is an accent with Green Berry as the base and Chai as the splash of color. I stamped using Born Pretty BP-54 and Konad Black. And of course sealed it all with HK Girl Top Coat.

I seriously don't want to take this mani off! It's one of my favorites that I have done in a really long time! Thank you Emily for your awesomeness! :)

The Digit-al Dozen Does Nature Week: Parasites, Bacteria, and Germs

Today, day 4 of The Digit-al Does Nature Week and I bring you the sludge of parasites, bacteria, and germs. Um, yay!

I used BarryM Mango as my petri dish suspension. The little germ guys are from Messy Mansion MM25 and stamped with BarryM Papaya and BarryM Waikiki.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Nature: DNA

I hope you all are seeing a theme here. I really wanted to do something totally different for this week's theme of nature. So many different ideas but I decided to delve deep into what makes up nature. Today we have DNA. DNA are made up of molecules and contain the genetic instructions of every living organism.

https://images.search.yahoo.com/images/view;_ylt=AwrTcX7Zg_9UjJAAYCKJzbkF;_ylu=X3oDMTIzN2htcjhpBHNlYwNzcgRzbGsDaW1nBG9pZAM0ODVjZjY4MjNlYjkwZTI2NWI3OWI1YjY5NDM3ZTAzZQRncG9zAzEwBGl0A2Jpbmc-?.origin=&back=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.swagbucks.com%2F%3Ft%3Di%26q%3DDNA%2Bfastcoexist.com&w=620&h=350&imgurl=media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com%2F736x%2F24%2F43%2Fc4%2F2443c4f5daad6862df1042a86540b6a4.jpg&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fpinterest.com%2Fpin%2F228205906092399970%2F&size=26.9KB&name=Find+Out+How+Damaged+Your+%23%3Cb%3EDNA%3C%2Fb%3E+Is+With+A+Home+Test+Kit&p=DNA+fastcoexist.com&oid=485cf6823eb90e265b79b5b69437e03e&fr2=&fr=&tt=Find+Out+How+Damaged+Your+%23%3Cb%3EDNA%3C%2Fb%3E+Is+With+A+Home+Test+Kit&b=0&ni=144&no=10&ts=&vm=p&tab=organic&sigr=11c8q1peb&sigb=11jiefcpt&sigi=12dalgsbf&sigt=11tud5976&sign=11tud5976&.crumb=NtwBjRDoLhJ&hsimp=yhs-prodege_001&hspart=prodege&type=search_6&vm=p&param1=4447042&param4=1656730916

This is what I based my mani off of. Not perfect, but close. And it looks like we may have some DNA splicing going on on my index finger (oh yeah, totally meant to have the stamp not work properly!).

I used a mixture of China Glaze Take a Trek, Strap on Your Moonboots with A England Tristam as my base. I think when I matted it using OPI Matte Top Coat I lost a lot of the glowing of those amazing polishes. I stamped using China Glaze Sci-Fly By and Messy Mansion MM25.

Anytime DNA is mentioned, this is what I hear:

"Die-na-saur DNA"

The Digit-al Dozen Does Nature Week: Molecules

Keeping it small now, we continue our Digit-al Dozen Nature Week by taking a look at molecules (yesterday we covered atoms).

"A molecule is made up of two or more atoms, either the same type of atom/element or different ones." - Serene from Copycat Claws

I used BarryM Chai as my base and stamped using Konad White and Konad Black. I used Messy Mansion MM25. I'm not sure what molecule this image is, but I double stamped it to make it seem more impressive! Hahahaha! ;)

The Digit-al Dozen Does Nature Week: Atoms

Welcome to another week of The Digit-al Dozen! This week's theme is Nature. I decided to do a break down of nature and living things. I asked Serene of Copycat Claws for a little help on the exact order of things, since she has a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology! (Dang!)
So today I have for you Atoms. "An atom is made up o[f] protons, neutrons, electrons and a bunch of tinier subatomic particle thingies" - Serene. I love that she explained it to me in a way I'd understand!

I used BarryM Coconut as my base and stamped using Messy Mansions MM25 (this plate is getting a lot of use this week!) and Konad Black. I then used red and blue acrylic paints for the nucleus, because that's what all the photos showed! Bahahaha!

*Disclaimer, I am not a scientist. I just wanted to have a bit of fun with the nature theme. Please no harsh criticism if what I put isn't perfect! :)

February Favorites!

Can you believe it's March already!? I have mixed feelings about this. I'm happy (or am I?) because my birthday is this month (the 4th to be exact) and sad because we are one month closer to the heat that is summer. Bleh.

Today I have some products I fell in love with in February!

http://www.wen.com/?grcid=t4-wwcofferpnlc&uci=ous138&cid=188p243499&GeoRedirect=false

First up is Wen Cleansing Conditioner. I received this along with a few of the styling products from a fellow beauty lover and coworker, Natalie from NatMichelesMakeup. She didn't like it at all and was giving all of her products to another coworker and offered some for me to try out. Ok, my hair is fine, it falls really easy and I use a lot of product on my hair to get it to do anything. I had been reverse shampooing (conditioning first then shampooing it out), which I still do and love, but I wanted to try this out. I love this! It works fabulous for my hair. I can use this daily and it doesn't weigh down my hair and it gets it clean too!

http://dermae.com/product/271/Vitamin-E-12%2C000-IU-Cr%C3%A8me.html

I bought this from Ulta and used it for a while then stopped, it is Derma E Vitamin E. But this past month I used this religiously and it is one of the products that have helped to finally clear up my skin! (post to come) I use this after I wash my face at night and I have loved the results! We got a few more items of this brand, excited to check them out!

http://www.mariobadescu.com/ceramide-herbal-eye-cream

This Mario Badescu Ceramide Herbal Eye Cream I received from my training class for work (one of my favorite training classes, I learned so much from the Mario Badescu Vendor) and it is also one of the products that has helped with my skin. I love it! It's hydrating with being overly hydrating and greasy. You can use it 360 degrees (all over eye and on lid) and it feels amazing!

Oh my goodness! These Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealers are a-mazing! I knew I had to have it as soon as I saw the press release but I had no idea how wonderful they would be. Even Wayne Goss MUA thinks they are fabulous! I bought one and have used it more often than any of my other concealers. It has amazing coverage and it totally buildable and not cakey!

Ah, the Urban Decay Limited Edition Vice Palette. Having just recently bought the Vice 3 I hemmed and hawd about getting this one as well. But I knew I would kick myself if I didn't buy it. And boy am I right! So there are many shadows from previous Vice palettes, one being Last Sin from Vice 3 and can I just tell you how much more pigmented it is in the LE palette than it's original! I'm glad I listened to my heart and not my wallet when getting this! :)

One of my new favorite, gotta collect them all, is loose shadow pigments! I use to be scared of them, like deathly scared. But I gave them a try (Bare Minerals being the first and Geek Chic second) and have fallen in love with the pigmentation of them! I use Urban Decay Bondage to get the pigments to stay put and provide intensity. Wow. Let's just say I have since bought a lot a few more and have some coming in the mail! >_<

What about you all? What were some of you February Favorites?
