Day two of Monochromatic week brings us purples! And since it is Technique Tuesday I thought I would try a new technique: Nailside's Tutorial: Explosion Design Tape Mani.
Can I just say, she makes this look so easy placing those darn triangle cut tape pieces on the nail. Pfft! Don't know if my are explosions but they are still pretty neat! :)
I used OPI Funky Dunkey as my base, China Glaze Urban-Night (dark one), and OPI Planks A Lot. Topped off with NYC In A New York Minute top coat.
I'm definitely going to have to try this technique again......much later, kinda was a little frustrating! Hahaha! :)

ReplyDeleteYeah they make those triangles look SOOO easy. The *only* time I tried to do one, I was like, "Why am I so awkward? Baby giraffes could do this better!" Rest assured, yours looks waaaay neater than mine did. Also, yay for purples!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! I love your comments! Thank you so much!
DeleteYES !!! i love this, and can i say, it feels like FOREVER since I saw you use purple - get those colours out baby. This rocks xx
ReplyDeleteI knew you would love it! :) Thank you! I agree, it has been awhile since I've worn purple.
DeleteWell well well, look at someone getting super fancy with the tape lately!! I love these - the little imperfections make it seem much more like a legit explosion :D
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Thank you!
DeleteBeautiful! I love the "explosion" look, but I'm never patient enough to use tape. Good job on this one :D
ReplyDeleteThank you! It took a lot of patience! :)
Deletelove! i know how challenging it is to get the tape placement right on this mani!
ReplyDeleteThank you Missy!
DeleteThese totally worked out! They're perfect little explosions!
ReplyDeleteI think the frustration was well worth the results; looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteI've always thought about trying that one but could never get my tape as neat as you've done.
ReplyDeleteWow, thank you!
DeleteI could never get my tape to look even close to this. Love that it's purple too!
