The Digit-al Dozen Does Texture Week: Damask!

Final day! I made it through and um, yeah, here is the final texture post for The Digit-al Dozen. Worst of the worst! Hahahahaha! In my head it worked out and I tried multiple times (normally I don't!). But alas, all I got was this weird moss like damask and not the velvet kind that you usually see! Hahahaha!

First I tried covering the whole design with flocking powder but that failed! So I decided to just do a few spots! Yikes!

But I did end up making a really freaky face there on my ring finger! See it? Scary!

I used Milani White on the Spot (two coats), Konad Black, MoYou Pro 04, HK Girl Top Coat, and flocking powder!

Phew! It's done! Until next month...............

The Digit-al Dozen Does Texture Week: Fringe!

Ok, so today I get a little silly with The Digit-al Dozen Does Texture Week! Fringe! Or whatever it is! It re minds me of the Leg Lamp from A Christmas Story or the back of someone's head because it's ridiculous!

I started with two coats of Barry M Plum (though you can't really see it that much). Used a little bit of HK Girl Top Coat on the base of my nails and placed the fringe/fiber stuff on top! Voila you get, um.....whatever this is!

So I thought I would trim it up and see what it would look like with a top coat. Oh, man, sorry for this next picture! Here I used HK Girl Top Coat and this is what it looked like:

Yikes! Nailed it? Nope failed it! Hahahahaha! It's like yucky greasy hair! Bleh! It's like the girl in the well from The Ring! Oh well, it's just a blog post, who's going to see it? Or wait you did! >_<

7 Days! Muwahahahaha! (I hope someone caught what I did there!)

Don't forget to check out what the other ladies did, I'm sure it's loads better! :)

The Digit-al Dozen Does Texture Week: Splatter!

Another day of The Digit-al Dozen Week Does Texture! Today I used some Zoya PixieDust polishes and attempted a splatter. And guess what, I was a derp and forgot to taped off around my nails so PixieDust went ALL OVER THE PLACE! It was impossible to get it all off my skin, so please excuse the remnants! :)

I started off with Zoya London and splattered using Stevie and Tomoko. Meh, I wasn't too impressed with it. I used OPI Glitter Off  as a base coat, at least that made it easier to take it off! :)

The Digit-al Dozen Does Texture Week: Lace!

Day 2 of The Digit-al Dozen Does Texture Week! This was one of the first ideas I had and hoped it would work out. After finishing mine I found a tutorial of Lace Nails by Top Coat It, it's very informative and well done, you should check it out!

I used two coats of Leighton Denny Berry Nice. I used a thicker coat of HK Girl Top Coat and pressed the lace before it dried. I think it's really fun looking! There are a few bits I wished I had trimmed a bit better, but I still think it's fun!

Here it is with OPI a Matte Top Coat. I was curious what it would look like. I think I personally like it better without the Matte Top Coat.

What do you think?

The Digit-al Dozen Does Texture Week: Dandelions!

Welcome to another Digit-al Dozen Week! We have some few new faces in the group now! Welcome new ladies! This week the theme is texture. Ugh! This has got to be the hardest theme for me yet! So I thought I would start out with my best of the week!

Dandelions!

I started out with two coats of OPI Planks A Lot. I then stamped used Konad White and Konad Black with MoYou Pro 04. I sealed the stamp with a layer of HK Girl Top Coat. After that dried, I dipped a toothpick in Sally Hansen Double Duty Strengthening Base & Top Coat and sprinkled some flocking powder over it!

I really love how it turned out! It's so cute and delicate!

33DC Day 6: Texture

Today we have a Texture Prompt and I knew exactly what I wanted to do! I recently got Zoya Tomoko from Ulta because of all the gorgeous pictures I saw! And after three coats Tomoko shimmered a beautiful champagne color! I love it! The formula is fabulous!

Since Tomoko is such a classy/vintage-y color I wanted to stamp something vintage: a cameo! This is from MoYou Pro Plate 04, stamped with Konad Black.

I had a little issue picking up the image for this hand, of course my right hand is stamped perfectly (wearing this mani to my friend's wedding!). And of course, didn't take a picture. I'm not in the habit of photographer my right hand, it's weird! :)

I wanted to seal the stamped image on so I used HK Girl Top Coat. And Zoya Tomoko shimmers even more now! I love it!

Zoya PixieDust: Stevie and Vespa

A quick swatch with accent nail of some pretties! This is Zoya PixieDust Stevie (a gorgeous purple!) and Vespa (a marvelous mossy green!).

Like I have said before, these are a bit thinner than other texture polishes, so much so that I had to do three coats of Vespa! Stevie only needed two.

Wanted to show you more of Vespa, here it is with only two coats, see how you can tell it's a bit sheer. Stevie is two coats here.

Zoya PixieDust: Miranda

Today's Zoya PixieDust is Miranda. A gorgeous shimmery pink! Love it! This is two coats. I also decided to try out my taping skills, and it worked! I used Essence Romeo as the base on my accent nail.

Ooh! Ahh! Look at the shimmer! The wear on these Zoya's are fabulous! I wore it for four days and no chipping! What!? I know! And the formula is great! But like I said yesterday, a bit thin.

I hope I'm not the only one that does this, but when I read the name Miranda I read it like this (granted I don't go all fighter crazy after saying it!):

Zoya PixieDust: London

This week I bring you the fabulous Zoya PixieDusts that I got through the fabulous Bee over at Bee Polished! Thank you Bee! I love them!

Today is a simple quick swatch of Zoya PixieDust London.

A shimmery textured grey! Heck yes! I love it! The Zoya PixieDusts seem to be a bit more liquid-y and thinner than the other textures I've tried. But even so, this is just two coats! Win!

Have you tried Zoya PixieDust polishes yet? I am so loving this texture trend!

Milani: Shady Gray and Spoiled in Fuchsia

Another quick mani. Today I used Milani's Texture polishes! And I love them too! They are a bit more gritty than OPI What Wizardry Is This, but just as easy to take off (still easier than glitter!). The Milani Textures were a bit more runny but application was just as nice.

I used two coats of each: Milani Shady Gray and Spoiled in Fuchsia. Spoiled in Fuchsia was runnier than Shady Gray which is why is looks a bit more shiny I guess. But after it completely dried (and they dry pretty fast) the looked the same.

The wear time for these are pretty good, about three to four days depending on how rough you are with your hands. Oh and word to the wise, be careful what you wear for clothing while wearing textures......they snag on things! :)

OPI: What Wizardry Is This? and Lincoln Park After Dark Suede

So I was promoted at my job and am now one of the managers where I work! I am very excited! (more money = more polish, right?) But it leaves me less time to do a lot with my nails. I hope to be able to post daily still, and if I do it will probably be more swatches and simple manis (unless it is The Digit-al Dozen Week). So I thought I would give you a heads up. :)

Today I have a simple, but what I thought lovely, mani. I used OPI What Wizardry Is This (Liquid Sand) and OPI Lincoln Park After Dark Suede. Both two coats and both stunning polishes! Wow!

What Wizardry Is This is from the Oz Great and Powerful collection and is just a stunning golden brown liquid sand. The texture is perfect, not too gritty to be annoying but enough to notice. The application was easy! (And taking it off was easier than glitter!) Lincoln Park After Dark Suede is a stunning metallic purple with a flat/brushed finish. I love suedes! It was almost harder to take off Lincoln Park than it was What Wizardry!

Have you tried any of the Liquid Sands, or any texture polishes yet? What do you think? Me? I love them! Can't wait until I can get some more! (Looking at you OPI with your Bond Girls collection!).

The wear time for these are pretty good, about three to four days depending on how rough you are with your hands.
