Sat-Art-Day Club: Frogs or Reptiles

So, I missed last week's challenge, but I'm back this week! This is The Sat-Art-Day Club. The Sat-Art-Day Club is a new weekly challenge which posts on Saturdays. Today we have chosen Frogs or Reptiles as our theme, I chose reptiles. I was stumped for a bit on this. I decided to look through my stamping plates and came across these two plates. But then I paused and thought...uh, wait is a turtle a reptile? Hahahaha! Blonde moment of the day! :)

I used China Glaze Westside Warrior for the base of three fingers. Catrice Lost in Mud is the accent nail base. I then stamped using Essie Penny Talk for the shell using Cheeky plate CH11. For my accent nail I used Klean Color Metallic Green and Salon Express SE21 for the little turtle (who decided to stamp off-centered. Grr!) But it still didn't look quite right. Then I decided to add China Glaze Matte Magic and voila! I love how it turned out! It gives it a bit of a leathery look. :)

Oh, and I love how Klean Color Metallic Green is still sparkly even with the Matte Magic!

Here it is before China Glaze Matte Magic. Still pretty but I love it with the Matte Magic better! :)

Oh and PS, I heard so many good things about these Essie Mirror Metallics. Well, this one did not stamped easily. You can see how I had to go over parts on my middle and pinky because the image didn't pick up. But I am not giving up hope yet. I will try this polish again!

Don't forget to check out the other ladies and their frogs or reptiles!

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays: Jelly Sandwich...Mattified!

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays are where we re-create manis from different blogs or pictures we have "pinned" on Pinterest, and link back to the original blogger!

Today I did a Jelly Sandwich (or Sammich). Yes I've done one before, but this one is mattified! Wahoo! :)

Here is another shot of my Jelly Sandwich Mattified! You might recognized this mani as I showed you part of it on Friday for my TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indie Friday - Sonoma Nail Art Clockwork. But I have now made it a sandwich and mattified it. :)

So, the ingredients are: base polish is OPI Skull & Glossbones. Glitter: Sonoma Nail Art Clockwork. Top polish: OPI It's Totally Fort Worth It. And then added China Glaze Matte Magic to finish it off!

This is the concept that I was inspired by. A gorgeous Sandy Sandwich....Mattified by The Nailasaurus (please click image of title to be sent to her site). I love the unconventional color of this. I usually see jelly sandwiches using pinks, blues, or whites. But I am loving this neutral! I think I need the OPI she used! (PS it's OPI Samoan Sand, just to let you know).

This is how it started out. Two coats of OPI Skull & Glossbones with one coat Sonoma Nail Art Clockwork.

Add one coat of OPI It's Totally Fort Worth It. This is a sheer silver shimmer with pink sparkles. This is a pretty mani just like this, but I had to make it a Monkey See Monkey Do! :)

And voila! A Jelly Sandwich.....Mattified! :) Yes, it's still a bit shiny with the glitter, but that's because you can't hide the awesomeness that is Clockwork by Sonoma Nail Art! ;) I am loving this mani a ton! I have been told it looks like a bird's egg or even stone.

Love Yourself Mani: Diamond Cosmetics' Matte Smoke

I am blown away by this polish. It is simply stunning. This is two coats of Diamond Cosmetics' Matte Smoke. Um, wow! Look at that! I thought about added something else to it but didn't want to spoil the canvas. It really is a smokey color too!

This polish applied very nicely for a matte, it wasn't too thick and gloopy.

Here's a shot more in the shade. Please forgive my pinkie nail as I am finding that it is curved!? When did this happen? Actually it's always there I think this polish just makes it a bit more noticeable. :)

I bought this polish straight from Diamond Cosmetics.

I really liked this mani and wanted to do something for me, that I enjoyed. This is part of the Love Yourself manis. For more information click on this picture or the one in my sidebar to be taken to the facebook group!
