TGIF: The Digit-al Dozen Does Art: 31 Day Challenge 2013! Day 11: Rainbow Nails

Oh my goodness! I had no idea how I was going to combine all my themes for today! TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indy Indie Friday; The Digit-al Dozen Does Art, and 31 Day Challenge 2013 (relaxed version). So I decided to focus on the Indie polishes themselves since they are a work of art! :) See, see what I did there? Wink wink! ;)

As I was reading a book: How To Be An Explorer of the World: Portable Art Life Museum by Keri Smith, I came across this:
"The Indo-European root of the word 'art' is 'to arrange; or 'fit together' (join). In this light, art can be pared down to its most simplistic form. We begin by collecting, then playing the the materials or objects, organizing them in a variety of ways, making new combinations, trying new things, then observing the arrangements we have made". (Keri Smith, 15)
Bah! Oh my goodness! Does that not describe us all to a "T"? We collect our tens, hundreds, or thousands of bottles of polish. Oh, we definitely play with them and organize them (by color or by brand?) New combos? Why duh! Of course! Trying new things? Yep, daily almost especially with all the nail art challenges. And oh how we "observe the arrangements we have made".....BLOGS! This is why I chose Indies for my art piece today. :)

Oh and there are a lot of photos here...just to warn you! :) Oh and these are each two coats!

First up in the rainbow is red: Elemental Styles Iron Man-ia. This is a gorgeous red jelly with red and gold glitters! Sadly she doesn't carry this polish any more and is just trying to sell her last polishes :( But she still does have some pretties available! Go visit her Elemental Styles Etsy Page

Next color in the rainbow is orange: Glimmer by Erica's Spicy Pumpkin. This is from her fall line and is a clear based glitter with orange, brown, garnet, and red glitters. I love her glitters! So many fun unique combos! Visit her Glimmer by Erica Etsy Page

Next up is yellow: NerdLacquer Gorramit. This is from her Serenity Trio. Wowza are her polishes amazing! Sadly she's been away for a while but has announced plans on returning! Polish crazed ladies rejoice! :)

How about green: Once Upon a Polish The Beanstalk. Sadly another amazing Indie polish maker who has stopped making polishes. I loved her concept and glitters! This is a green glitter in a clear base.

Here's blue: Rainbow Polish Sky Walker. From her Star Set 2 (inspired by Star Wars!) Epic geeky win! This is a "slightly milky blue base containing small blue glitters, blue"lightsaber" glitter bars, white square glitters and small blue dust glitter". Visit her Rainbow Polish Etsy Shop (and this polish is still there!)

On to indigo: A England Tristam is the closest I could get. And it is stunning! Though they are a bit more big-leagued, A England is still and Indie! Visit her shop A England.

And last but not least purple: Dollish Polish Hylian Princess. From her Zelda Duo (another epic geeky win!) This was a huge lemming of mine finally squashed! It is purple, white, and gold glitters in a clear base. Visit her Dollish Polish shop

Big ol' lineup! :)

Backside lineup!

Now, did I cheat a bit for today? Nah, I don't think so! So many talented women create gorgeous works of art for our fingers! We must praise them! And of course give them our money! :)

Don't forget to check out the other ladies in The Digit-al Dozen:

TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indie Friday - Elemental Styles Co-balt of Lightning

Welcome to another installment of TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indy Indie Friday! Today is brought to you by my last (that I currently have, I will be buying more!) Elemental Styles polish: 27 Co-balt of Lightning. I got this lovely polish in a giveaway win from Elemental Styles and let me tell you, it is stunning!

BAM! Look at that! Wow! This is a stunning gorgeous duochrome. Look at the colors! This polish simply glows like it is like from within! This is one coat over Finger Paints Black Expressionism. One coat and it is perfect!

Here's another angle for your viewing pleasure! :) Elemental Styles describes Co-Balt of Lightning as "Co-balt of Lightning is a duochrome polish that changes from teal to blue to navy to purple depending on the lighting."

In this one you can sort of see the purple in it on the upper edges of my nails. This polish applied flawlessly. It's perfect and such amazing bright colors! Wow, is all I can say! :)

You know you want this polish now too, don't you! ;) Well here is her etsy shop: Elemental Styles and this is her fantastic blog: Elemental Styles

Go and check her out! And Whitney, thank you so much for this amazing polish!

Here's a quick shot of the polish I used as the underwear to Co-Balt of Lightning. This is Finger Paints Black Expressionism (one coat).

TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indie Friday! - Elemental Styles Iron Man-ia

Welcome to another installment of TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indy Indie Friday! This week is brought to you by Elemental Styles! The polish is 26 Iron Man-ia. I got this lovely polish in a giveaway win from Elemental Styles. And it is wonderful!

Here is one coat of Iron Man-ia. It is a lovely shade of red. It is a red jelly based polish that consists of both fine red and gold glitter and large holographic gold hex glitter. This is a real nice red and made fun by the glitter! The formula on this is lovely and applied wonderfully! The color reminds me of that strawberry glaze that you can buy at the grocery store for homemade strawberry shortcake. Mmmmm, strawberry shortcake with glitter! :)

Here is two coats of Iron Man-ia. How perfect is the name of this polish! A bit of science nerdiness as Iron is the 26th element (hence the 26 in the name) and a bit of comic book geekery for Iron Man! This polish is awesome, it seems to glow from within!

This is one coat of Iron Man-ia over Zoya Sooki. This is great underwear for Iron Man-ia, but I think I prefer it on its own! But that is just my preference! :)

You know you want this polish now too, don't you! ;) Well here is her etsy shop: Elemental Styles and this is her fantastic blog: Elemental Styles

Go and check her out! And Whitney, thank you so much for this amazing polish!

This is a picture of Zoya Sooki that I used as Iron Man-ia's underwear (hahaha!). I don't think it looks all that great on me. But with Iron Man-ia it looks better on me! :)

TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indie Friday! - Elemental Styles E=MC²

Welcome to another installment of TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indy Indie Friday! So I decided I am only going to do one polish at a time for TGIF, this why I can show it as a layer and really show it's goodness! And since my Indie stash isn't super big (yet) it'll last longer too! :)

This week is brought to you by Elemental Styles! The polish is 99 E=MC². I got this lovely polish in a giveaway win from Elemental Styles. And it is wonderful!

Just a sad note, I didn't realize when I took the pictures that my lighting was low so they are a bit fuzzy. And since I am actually gone for the weekend on a little vacation, I didn't have time to redo them. But they are still wonderful!

This is E=MC² one coat, alone with just a base coat. A tad bit sheer but not too bad. Whitney from Elemental Styles describes this polish as "is a light grey based polish that includes various sizes of black and silver hex glitters!" And it is named after the 99th element (all her polishes are based on elements, hence the name of her shop) einsteinium!

Two coats of  E=MC². I have to say that this is one of the easiest Indie glitter polishes I have ever applied! The formula is fantastic! And I didn't have a problem with glitter settling! Wow! Whitney says that this polish is in homage to Einstein's crazy hair!

Um, yep. Spot on! :)

Here is E=MC² with one coat of Seche Vite. Now this polish isn't a super bumpy glitter so only one layer of top coat was enough! How awesome is that!

Now lets see what it looks like layered over another polish shall we? :)

This is one coat of E=MC² over Essence Romeo. Not that much of a difference from this versus the two coats of E=MC². But this will allow me to have E=MC² longer as it is only one coat!

This polish is probably my new favorite Indie polish. It is fantastic! So, you wanna get one for yourself now don't you! Well here is her etsy shop: Elemental Styles and this is her fantastic blog: Elemental Styles

Go and check her out! And Whitney, thank you so much for this amazing polish!

Here is a quick fuzzy gander of Essence Romeo, even though I have shown this one to you before, it is still a favorite! :)

Waaa! Fuzzy. Boo!

Just a quick note, I'll be out of town this weekend, so if your comments don't show up right away they will by Monday at the latest! :) I'm not sure if I'll have internet access.

Also, Happy Star Wars day! May the 4th be with you!

Nail Mail from Win at Elemental Styles

I was the "winner winner chicken dinner!" over at Elemental Styles for her 500 Follower + 1 Year Giveaway! I was floored that I won! Wow! Such an awesome prize! Thank you so much!

Look at that! Isn't that amazing! The complete Finger Paints special effects flakie polishes! Three of her own amazing polishes from her amazing etsy shop: Elemental Styles.

This is a bottle macro shot of 26 Iron Man-ia. An amazing red jelly with red and gold small glitter and larger gold hex glitter! It is more of a brighter red than this shot shows and not so brown. Don't own too many jellys so I am excited! And it is a very fun looking polish!

This is a bottle macro shot of 27 Co-balt of Lightning. A stunning shimmery duo/multichrome top coat that changes from teal-blue-navy blue-purple! Excited, my new favorite fad are the duochrome top coats! :)

This is a bottle macro shot of 99 E=MC^2. A grey based polish with various sizes of black and silver hex glitter! Stunning!

These three polishes are sold at her etsy shop: Elemental Styles

Thank you so so much! I love them all and am excited to use them and play! :)
