Teal Tuesdays - Glitter Freestyle

Today's Teal mani is glitter freestyle featuring Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in The Real Teal (base color) and Teal-y Cool (glitter). I decided to keep it simple today because I am not feeling too great. So I pulled out my trust Sally Hansen (what I collected before I knew there were other polishes) and thought I would double teal it today! I love this glitter and how subtle it is. It so isn't an in-your-face glitter. It is very soothing! This is just one coat of Teal-y Cool over one coat of The Real Teal. What better names for this day huh! :)

This is The Real Teal by itself, one coat. It's still a bit sheer (some VNL). But the glitter in the picture above deepens the teal color! But I love them both!

Teal Tuesdays was started because teal is unloved and needed its own day of celebration!
Teal is a medium to dark bluish green color of low saturation; a dark cyan.
Open to interpretation, anything green with a hint of blue or blue with a hint of green is welcome here!
Aqua, Turquoise,Tiffany Blue, etc etc...all are welcome - we do not discriminate!

NerdLacquer: I Aim To Misbehave

Ready? Oooh....ahhhhh! Yep. I finally used it! And it is purdy! Oh so purdy! And you know what? This, my darlings, is one coat! ONE! Boo-yah! I didn't want to use it because I was afraid to use it all up, but boy was I ever wrong! This is a case when I like to be wrong!

So the technicals: This is I Aim to Misbehave from NerdLacquer's Serenity Trio with two coats of Seche Vite (one coat and it was still glitter bumpy). You can get it at NerdLacquer etsy shop, Ninja Polish, or Harlow & Co

A word to the wise. She sells out dang quick! If you go to her etsy shop you can be notified by email when she restocks. Ninja Polish will also send you an email when they restock. :) Lovely aren't they!

This polish is a loverly shade of deep plum almost a deep berry with bits of silver micro glitter, blue glitter and red glitter. Mmmmm! Love!

So I told you this was a one coater right? Well, on my right hand (shock! She has another hand!) I can show you what it looks like when you don't happen to put as much on the nail brush. Now, no laughing at the paint job. My left hand is stupid and is only good for holding a bottle of polish.

See my ring finger there? It could have used a second coat of polish. But I didn't mind too badly. Tomorrow I go back to work and will mess them up again. :)

Oh and what's a Serenity post without a little clipage!? :)

Nail Mail: Packages 1 and 2

You've seen this picture before, now lets unveil two of the packages! :) Let's start with the bigger of the manila bubble envelopes. The one in the bottom left corner. What could it be? Actually this one is funny. I ordered these polishes from etsy and the came a memo saying something about Kirsten sent you a message. I got all confused because that's my name and I didn't send myself or anyone else a message! It took me a minute to realize that the owner and creator of All That Glitters is named Kirsten too! Such a great name! :) Well onto the pretties!

Oh yeah! Spotty Dottie Dark and Spotty Dottie Light! Yippee! I'm so excited for these! And you know what? If I combine them I could make it look similar to Connect the Dots! That's one of the reasons I bought these. But I also bought them because I don't have any white glitter and been craving them! And I have no black glitter that has bars! And both of these glitters have bar glitter and then hex glitters of multiple sizes. They are gorgeous! And they are jammed full! There is so much glitter in these bottles it's ridiculous! I am so excited to try these! Go and visit her shop because she has so many amazing glitter polishes! All That Glitters. (Ugh sorry, just realized the picture is a tad bit blurry. Grr! It was overcast when I took this photos)

Onto package 2. We will do the small little white envelope that is located between the two manila ones. This one caused a lot of fuss when it was released and can only be gotten in the lovely UK. There is an amazing lady named Claire from Purple Fairy Dust that took orders and  found hunted tracked down bottle after bottle of this amazing wee little polish! Yep, you guessed it:

Max Factor's Fantasy Fire! Woot! Woot! I'm so excited! And amazed at how itty bitty it is! But it is worth it! I haven't used it yet but I can't wait! But it will be used sparingly! But it will be loved, oh yes, it will be loved! Isn't Claire just friggin' amazing for doing this! Thank you thank you thank you sooooo much! I love love love it! It is definitely worth all the fuss! (sorry for the cruddy blurry picture) (see, even it's awesomeness can't be capture by a camera!) This polish is a close dupe to Clarins 230 (Unicorn Pee). It is a gorgeous color shifting top coat that has red to green (and colors in between) shifts!

The second little manila envelope is the one package that wasn't mine. It is for Debbie from The Crumpet and it was her OPI Ink Suede! And I sent off an amazing epic box of polishes for her today!

Nail Envy Week 5

So I told you yesterday that I had a nail break on my right hand and was going to file them all down. Well I did that today and I thought I would show you the before and after. I just did these and probably will still tweak their shape as they aren't super uniform. But this was a quick job.

So these are my nails before filing them down. Not crazy long but long for me.

And here they are now. Not super uniform like I said but a much more manageable length (at least for me!). My pointer always goes shorter for some reason no matter how much I try for not to! :) Oh well, they aren't perfect. But I'm not perfect, and who is? :)

I'm Back!

I am home from my trip! It is good to be home. I want to thank everyone for the thoughts and prayers and heartfelt wishes and concerns. Thank you!

My nails are super long because I haven't touched them in a week! But I had a break the other day trying to open one of my 6 packages. But it is my weak nail so I wasn't surprised. But one of my other nails is starting to break! :( So I am going to have to file them all down and start over. Which is good to do anyways sometimes! So I'm not too sad about it. But I am in a weird funk right now.

Not sure what to do. I will be posting some haul photos, some very mighty hauls!!!!!! I had 6 packages waiting for me when I got back plus I went shopping in Canada!!! Woot woot!

But I hope to into the habit of painting my nails again. Sorry, but it might take a few days! :(

Not only am I in a funk but now I have polish overload and am not sure which to use first! :)

Nail Mail from Gwen again!

These came from Gwen at SpaceLife Thoughts. They are from the same buy as this post. I really needed these! They came the day I found out about my uncle and nail mail helped to cheer me a bit! :) These are Catrice polishes Lost in Mud and London's Weather Forecast. Yep, another brown and grey. But I don't have these ones! And the grey has what looks to be a bit of silver in it! :)

Sorry it is short. But I hope this ends my final pre-scheduled blog posts! And I hope to be back to regular posting! :)
