Adventures in Stamping: The Sky's the Limit

This week the challenges was the sky is the limit, which meant anything you would find in the sky. I immediately thought of my Konad plate Q1. And so that is what I used. All of these images are from the Q1 plate. My base is Essence You Belong to Me. The polishes I used to stamp with are: Konad Special White, Konad Special Black, KleanColor Metallic Yellow, Metallic Fuschia, and Metallic Green.

Here is Essence You Belong to Me on it's own. Isn't it the perfect sky blue!? This is two coats with one coat of Seche Vite.

Love Yourself Mani: Nails Inc Little Miss Chatterbox

I decided to try two untireds and combine them together! This is Nails Inc Little Miss Chatterbox and New York Color Starry Silver Glitter. I sponged the glitter on the tips. I love how this turned out. So simple yet striking!

This Nails Inc Little Miss Chatterbox is one of the many pretties that I got from in the Epic Royal Nail Mail from The Crumpet. This polish is amazing! The formula is perfect! This is two coats of a gorgeous chocolate milk colored polish.

Here it is one it's own. Look at that! Isn't it a lovely chocolate milk color!? Wow. This also has a coat of Seche Vite over it.

Macro bottle shot of NYC Starry Silver Glitter. This polish is beautiful. It has micro silver glitter with medium sized hex glitter of blue and lilac. It reminds me a lot of China Glaze Loreleis Tiara (which I don't own) but with the added color of glitter.

I really liked this mani and wanted to do something for me, that I enjoyed. This is part of the Love Yourself manis. For more information click on this picture or the one in my sidebar to be taken to the facebook group!

TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indie Friday - Elemental Styles Co-balt of Lightning

Welcome to another installment of TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indy Indie Friday! Today is brought to you by my last (that I currently have, I will be buying more!) Elemental Styles polish: 27 Co-balt of Lightning. I got this lovely polish in a giveaway win from Elemental Styles and let me tell you, it is stunning!

BAM! Look at that! Wow! This is a stunning gorgeous duochrome. Look at the colors! This polish simply glows like it is like from within! This is one coat over Finger Paints Black Expressionism. One coat and it is perfect!

Here's another angle for your viewing pleasure! :) Elemental Styles describes Co-Balt of Lightning as "Co-balt of Lightning is a duochrome polish that changes from teal to blue to navy to purple depending on the lighting."

In this one you can sort of see the purple in it on the upper edges of my nails. This polish applied flawlessly. It's perfect and such amazing bright colors! Wow, is all I can say! :)

You know you want this polish now too, don't you! ;) Well here is her etsy shop: Elemental Styles and this is her fantastic blog: Elemental Styles

Go and check her out! And Whitney, thank you so much for this amazing polish!

Here's a quick shot of the polish I used as the underwear to Co-Balt of Lightning. This is Finger Paints Black Expressionism (one coat).

Dupes? Orly Oui and OPI It's My Year

While working on my swatchsicles I came across these two pretties. OPI It's My Year and Orly Oui. Let's take a closer look, shall we? This post is picture heavy. Pretty similar in the bottle, right?

Macro bottle shot of OPI It's My Year.

Macro bottle shot of Orly Oui. Still pretty similar, maybe slightly different color.

Pointer and Ring finger are OPI It's My Year. Middle and Pinkie finger are Orly Oui. All are one coat. Right away you can tell that OPI It's My Year has a more pink jelly base with Orly Oui being a more purple jelly base. Both polishes have that golden foil shimmer running through out. Also, OPI It's My Year is a bit more sheer, notice the visible nail line on my pointer.

Still one coat of each with my Pointer and Ring finger as OPI It's My Year and on my Middle and Pinkie finger are Orly Oui. This angle shows more of the golden shimmer.

This is two coats with my Pointer and Ring finger as OPI It's My Year and my Middle and Pinkie finger are Orly Oui. The golden foil shimmer still looks the same but OPI is still more pink than the Orly; and OPI is still more sheer than Orly.

Here is a direct sun shot of the two polishes. This one really shows the different base colors of the two polishes. Again, on my Pointer and Ring finger are OPI It's My Year and on my Middle and Pinkie finger are Orly Oui. Look at the color difference!

One final shot. The formulas of the polish were consistent with their brand name. Both have the same type of finish, one is just more pink while the other is more purple.

Now do you need both of these? Probably not. Are the exact Dupes? Well, in everything but the color yes. But the color isn't the same so I would say no, not exact dupes, but pretty dang close and one would only need to choose which base color they prefer.

But a polish hoarder lover, may still want both! :) I wonder how the OPI one would work in a jelly sandwaich? Hmmmmm.

Say Yes with Orly Oui

This gorgeous polish Orly Oui from the Holiday Soiree Collection released during the Holidays in 2011. I have been working on my swatchsicles and swatched this polish and feel in love! How could you not? This is a gorgeous purple based polish with a bright gold foil through out! Look at it! Just look!

No matter the angle it is gorgeous! This shows more of the gold in it.

This shows a lot of the purple. This polish is stunning!

Do you own it? Or the one that is similar to it: OPI It's My Year. I own both and will be posting a comparison with it. :) Stay tuned!

Teal Tuesdays - Abstract

I'm back to Teal Tuesdays! This week our challenge is abstract. So I choose to use a crackle to create abstract designs! :) Isn't it perfect for this!?

My base is China Glaze Custom Kicks with BarryM Nail Effects. This crackle is amazing! Look at the cracks it made! Love it!

Here is Custom Kicks on it's own. Still can't capture the golden shimmer that it has. Grrr!

Teal Tuesdays was started because teal is unloved and needed its own day of celebration!
Teal is a medium to dark bluish green color of low saturation; a dark cyan.

Monkey See Monkey Do Monday: Orly Buried Alive

Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays are where we re-create manis from different blogs or pictures we have "pinned" on Pinterest, and link back to the original blogger!

This week I thought I would use one of my newest polishes. Orly Buried Alive from the Dark Shadows Collection. I wasn't going to get any of these polishes but I saw this amazing stamped mani using this polish and knew I needed the polish. So it was that mani that I decided to copy this week. Now, it isn't an exact, because I don't have the same stamp, but I did use the exact polishes (Orly Buried Alive and BarryM Nail Effects Gold Foil)! But I also used a Cheeky brand plate like she did; but I used CH10.

This amazing mani is by Carolina over at Colores de Carol: Orly Buried Alive. (click the title or the picture to be sent to her blog and post). I have added this watermark because I didn't want people to think I was using it as my own and I wanted it to show her name on it. But isn't it gorgeous! This is why I needed this polish, and I wasn't disappointed! :)

Here is Orly Buried Alive on it's own. Gorgeous!

Ahhh! Insane creepy closeup to show the detail of this polish! :)
