GOT Polish Challenge: Pink & The Lazy Blogger's 31DC: Delicate

So today is a two challenge day! We have GOT Polish Challenge (Golden Oldie Thursday, where you have to use a polish older than a year!) and The Lazy Blogger's 31DC. So the two prompts are: Pink and delicate.

Well, the polish for my base is OPI Pink-A-Doodle. The stamping polish is Sally Hansen Presto Pink and the stamping plate is Nailz Craze NC01. All three are older than a year! And the dandelion is delicate!

Boo-yah! Win! :)

I really love the shimmer in the OPI polish! So feminine! I used HK Girl Top Coat to make it all extra shiny!

The Lazy Blogger's 31DC: Tutorial - Tape Mani Cross.

Today's Lazy Blogger 31 Day Challenge prompt is a tutorial. I have a whole bunch to choose from but I chose to do a cross mani, it's the closest I've come to a tape mani argyle. But I love how this turned out and the fact that is a tape mani that worked!

I've had this pinned for like ever and I'm so happy that I finally did it! It was easy and I can't wait to do it again! The tutorial is from Pshiiit.com

For my colors I used China Glaze Kalahari Kiss as my base with China Glaze Ingrid and China Glaze Budding Romance. I just love these colors together!

What do you think?

Neutral Mondays: Essie Chinchilly with Flakies!

Ah, Monday we meet again. Actually, with no job, Monday's aren't all that bad! :) Especially while wearing a nice neutral like Essie Chinchilly.

Now I've seen a few different versions of this color some that are more brown or more grey. But either way it's a lovely taupe-y grey color that is just perfect. I decided to add a little fun to it.

Flakies! Remember when these were all the rage? Especially the Finger Paints Flakies? I bought the entire collection that first week they were out, but I haven't used them that much. But here I used Finger Paints Twisted. I used NYC In a New York Minute as my top coat.

Honestly I forgot how fun flakies are. They can brighten up a simple mani and add a bit magic to your mani!

Are you a flakie fan?

The Lazy Blogger's 31DC: Polka Dots

Today's Lazy 31DC prompt is Polka Dots! Well I went the sparse route! I've had a mani pinned on pinterest forever and I finally wanted to recreate it. The original is by Deez Nailz (actually hers is a copy of another's).

I just love how these turned out, even on the nubs! Nub Nail Art for the win! :)

I used OPI I Have a Herring Problem (two coats). Then used Finger Paints Black Expressionism for the stripes. I dotted using OPI Don't Talk Bach to Me. Topped it off with NYC In a New York Minute Top Coat and added the rhinestones.

What do you think? Kind of matches my blog huh! :)

#2014 Blogger Challenge: New Years Inspiration

Today's theme is New Years Inspiration in the form of a quote or photo. This quote means a lot to me. My life hasn't turned out how I planned it when I was younger and I have been having a hard time letting that go. This does not help with my depression and anxiety.
So this year I am going to try and do better at this. Life is not set in stone. Each day I decide how it will be. And I hope I choose everyday for it to be better than it was the day before!

I know I didn't write that much but I think the quote speaks more than I could write.

The Lazy Blogger's 31DC: Inspired by a Pattern

"Say hello, to my little friends!" Bah super nubbin time! Horrible winter has wreck my nails. Well, let's look at it this way: new year = new nails! Starting over! :)

Today also starts The Lazy Blogger's 31 Day Challenge. Emma from Manicurity and I have done the 31 Day challenge twice before together! Last time we cut it down some. And now we really chopped it up! Hahahaha!

Today is Inspired by a Pattern:

I was inspired by this pattern from MoYou plate 4 from the Sailor Collection. I used OPI Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI as my base and stamped using KleanColor Metallic Purple.

I am loving how subtle the stamping is! And look! Nail art on nubbins! Whoo-hooo! :)

2014 Goals

Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday!

Today I am actually going to write out some goals that I have for the blog. And then at the end of the year I'll see if I stuck with them! Hahaha! :)

These are in no particular order.
  • More Nail Art: I want to be more comfortable with free-hand nail art and not to rely on just stamping. But there will still be stamping! Oh yes! MoYou has made sure of that! :)
  • More writing. I want to really find my blogger voice and so I need to do more writing. I have join a 2014 Blogger Challenge in which we are given prompts to write about. I am hoping this helps!
  • Improve overall polish application (clean up and dryness).
  • Improve photos (new hand positions? not so close up of my nails?)
  • Engage more with you the readers through the blog, my facebook page, and twitter (still don't really know what to do with that one!) * you can follow me on any of those my clicking those amazing social icons in the top right corner!
  • Bring to you more themed days thought these wouldn't have to be mandatory, meaning I could skip or replace that day with another mani!: Neutral Mondays, Technique Tuesdays, TGIF: Thank Goodness Indy Indie Friday, and do I still keep Wednesday Reads?
There will be more challenges (starting this week Emma at Manicurity and I are doing the 31 Day Challenge again (third time together!)! But this time we are calling it The Lazy Blogger's 31 Day Challenge and have cut it down!)

And there will still be The Digit-al Dozen Weeks every month!

Some personal goals I would like to achieve are:
  • Exercise (actually do it and not just say the word)
  • Find myself again. Having gone through some tough trials lately I now need to find me.
  • Get a job (ew yuck!) (hopefully anxiety cooperates)
  • Grow spiritually.
Phew! I think that does it! Now to get planning and working on some manis!

Happy New Year!
